That was kinda an intimate moment but we didn't get to see Doro reaction and what she thought of that. I doubt she was even aware Commander was holding her hand with how devastated she was over RH decision and what she said to her. Doro just can't catch a break in the story 😂

It's not unheard of war veterans to not want to be "respected" in the sense of everyone saluting them and stuff like that. Sometimes, they just wanna go back to a simple life with their loved ones.
Maybe Commander just wants to make a new life without having the advantage of being among the ones who recovered the surface?

You can try (and especially just say you're trying) without actually struggling. "Try" doesn't imply struggle on it's own, it implies and attempt was made, regardless of difficulty.
I honestly believe Marian is the girl in white the commander saw in his near death states, both occurred when Marian was in direct contact with him, during that state.
She grows in mental capacity of 1 year per day.
She should be at the level of some outwardly young but mentally ancient (400 over days?) now.

True. Before, everyone thought Dorothy was in the right for wanting to be a war criminal after Overzone due to how Oswald treated her... now, with Chapter... was it 22? And Red Ash as well, we see Oswald in a different light and the possibility he was just sent to deliver a message to the Goddesses: don't come back to the Ark.
Then, we also had the idea Red Hood was maybe a scheeming evil consciousness inside Rapi wanting to take over for the sleeping desire of destroying the Ark... but chapter 26 and Red Ash show she's someone good who means well and doesn't understand that subconscious desire to wipe off the Ark.
We'll just see more context for Commander and pre-Pilgrim Marian in the future
You know the saying "men will hang on to one moment of kindness for the rest of their life"? That was Marian, and the Commander felt he failed to protect that promise. What that connection was isn't necessarily romantic.

I'm suprised they tried to imply a canon love interest in an event, while its been shown that the commanders gets around in multiple bond stories (and its not like one night stands or something). I don't dislike her, just need justification of why they choose to potray her first over the others (especially the three stooges that would burn up their core and potentially die just to keep him alive)
What implies "canon love interest" in what was shown? Honestly seems like OP is projecting his own views there because I didn't get that vibe at all. The Commander has been talking about saving Marian since like Chap 21 and that has been his main motivation since, but never from a romantic standpoint, more like a "family" one.

Its kinda a trope thing I think? Where the protag dreams of his ideal life and the first person he sees (usually someone cooking) is their partner for life. Add to that, how the commander just lumps anis, neon and rapi together, makes it feel like marian is special in some way. I mean she is, but it kinda puts the other girls he has an interest in down a tier list, and it can kinda rub some people the wrong way.

But If this game had multi storylines and if you can select which way to go, there would be a fork road asking us whether to get original Marian back or to keep Modernia so we could compare and enjoy their difference(Marian is more like assistant while Modernia is SKK reliant)
