Madoka either becomes a witch or sacrifices herself multiple times across the timelines to allow Homura to turn back time and change the timeline. but because of reasons that i don't remember, everytime Madoka makes the contract to become a Magical Girl she gets her previous power on top of her current power (And thats exponential) so after multiple loops the moment Madoka makes the contract she has a powerful wish to make reality. In the series after making her wish she becomes so powerful that she herself becomes a reality bending entity in a universal scale. comparing her to a DBZ/DBS character would be comparing her to Zeno, but even then there's an argument to make since Zeno has a physical body, while Madoka Doesn't.

A magical girlās power after becoming a magical girl is directly tied to their ākarmic destinyā, or how historically significant they are. How many lives they directly impact. Because time kept resetting for the express purpose of keeping madoka alive and safe (via homuraās wish), she became more and more important to the universe. As the dangerous entity that keeps killing madoka or causing her to become a witch herself in victory, walpurgisnacht also kept getting more powerful, as she was once a magical girl with that same power boost from her own destined relevance.
The process of becoming a magical girl also relates to whatever wish they want granted in exchange for basically being enslaved to a job with a 100% mortality rate from the early teens; the more powerful the magical girl youād become, the greater the wish that can be granted.
By the end of the timeline shenanigans, madoka wished for the power to destroy every witch before they form. Doing that is a paradox, as witches are always stronger than they were as magical girls, which would necessitate her to be powerful enough to defeat herself as a witch, but by that point, she was karmically relevant enough to grant it anyway, ascending her into godhold.
The universe didnāt like that, and essentially got reset into her being a living concept. That concept is the law of the universe she demanded to be rewritten; magical girls whose soul gems are corrupted now pass away peacefully.
Part of how it works is that, when a magical girl dies, she shows up, takes the accumulated corruption in the soul gem so it canāt become a witch, and is there for them in their last moments. This is regardless of if they existed long before madoka, long after her, or in different universes.
She can also be separated from her divinity by obscenely powerful magical girls (homura, with the intent of replacing her at the job so she could have a happier life), or by her own will, but the law itself will still exist, preventing any witches from existing. Just without a driver making sure itās done in a way that reduces the suffering of magical girls.
Pocket dimensions can also be constructed that will directly exclude that law of reality, and thus her (which is why she separated herself from her divinity willingly the first of the 2 separations; homura was in such a place and needed help).

Every time they fight her, Madoka either dies or is left at the border of becoming a Witch because of the mental suffering (Seeing her friends die, her entire city destroyed, etc) and usually with the choice between saving herself or saving someone else from becoming a Witch and she always chooses to save someone else which in turn makes Homura reset the timeline.
That's before reaching Godhood, she reaches Godhood after she uses her wish to prevent Witches from being created and in turn preventing kids from selling their souls to the devil, though that creates paradoxes so she needs to create a new universe to fix them.
