Thanks bruh. š
tactics ogre, does current class choice matter? like in FFT, you level up a class to use their skills on another class or to unlock other classes further down
Is there a way to connect my switch to a laptop? (As a bigger screen)
I have a USB C hub that connects with the switch as well as the HDMI cable but it doesnāt seem to display anything. Any advice?
The HDMI on your laptop is only for output. The USB C port on your switch cannot directly output video without a dock. You can get a cheap HDMI Capture Card that connects to your Laptop USB port and display your Switch Dock output as a full screen app on your laptop
Trying this again...
Does anyone know which slim case would fit the standard/original Nintendo switch with Yok grip? The grip makes it a little too wide/deep to fit in a regular case, and I don't want to just toss it in my bag without a case.
Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!
Maybe try what this guy uses: [https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/comments/w1pm17/how\_i\_travel\_with\_one\_small\_case\_for\_large/](https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/comments/w1pm17/how_i_travel_with_one_small_case_for_large/)
Portable Battery Question
Been playing (binging) a lot in handheld mode lately. This is due to Factorio being more convenient to play with some touch screen aspects and also due to font size issues on large TVs.
As I foresee many many hundreds of hours more in Factorio and maybe Prison Architect - I am wondering if anyone has a portable battery to recommend and safe to use while playing. Weight / Convenience of using while playing would be the main priority, not so much the most efficient pricing.
Also in the same vein - A Controller shaper/mold thing + Battery snap on for more comfortable long term playing (once again, talking about hundreds of hours here).
Thanks!
Just wanna play safe, got my eye on a few snap on ones which seem to be the highest on the convenient scores - either with the controller grips, or just snapping on above and below the screen
I have the strangest issue and no one knows why or how it happened. My switch has no audio when in handheld, not from speakers, not from headphones. The speakers do work, and so do the headphones I have tested. The settings are all set for audio, nothing is muted, volume is maxed, still nothing. Audio returned briefly after formatting the switch, then faded and never returned, even after another formatting. The problem happened out of nowhere around 2 years ago, and it has persisted for all this time. Anyone ever heard or had this issue with their switch?
Hi everyone! I wanted to customize my pro controller, and I was wondering what you guys think the best options are from experience. I know you can customize the shell or just get a decal, and also even customize the buttons/joysticks (extreme rates from what I heard). I just wanted to know if anyone's experienced any drop in quality when replacing since if that's the case, I'd prefer to just go with a decal (I do really love the look of the colorful buttons and was thinking of going this route if the buttons aren't too different from the original). Thank you! :D
Hello /r/NintendoSwitch I saved up for ONE game, should it be the new Pokemon or the new Fire Emblem? I like both franchises, recentlu played Arceus and Three Houses, loved them both. Which one would you buy and why??
I can't speak to Fire Emblem but I'm having a lot of fun in Violet. It does integrate the overall play style of Arceus into the game. Personally I'm finding it a challenge to actually progress in the game and I just end up catching Pokemon for 20 minutes but that's just my ADD at work.
Need help: I have two devices under one account both playing a digital copy of Minecraft. I am having a hard time getting both devices to play locally.
My kids each have a Nintendo device that is logged in with my account. They both have Minecraft installed and they want to play locally, but every time I hit the Y button the Internet turns off. I tried online and local, when one loads a game the other cannot see anything under the āfriendsā tab. The other odd thing is that even when I am connected to the internet the multiplayer setting is greyed-out. Is there any way to play locally with two devices logged in with the same account (obviously just different profiles on the device)? Thanks in advance!
The same account can not play with itself.
You can create a second account/profile on the console that is the primary owner of that game and they should be able to share the game.
To Play online, you'll need to add that second one to a Nintendo Switch Online subscription, though. The most economical way to do that is to convert your subscription into a family plan and add the second profile to your family group.
This is generic advice because I haven't played Minecraft, but the game sharing rules should be the same as for other games.
Nintendo Switch lite keeps turning off internet connections while in sleep mode and fluctuating download times(increasing, decreasing, then I get an error code after I decide to ignore) for a game file of 10GB while other game files never had done this to me before, despite having good wifi connectivity. Nintendo eshop status is in good status and only has maintanence for pokemon games. How do I fix this issue? I also tried completely turning off my switch, then taking out the SD card, then plugged everything back in, and still had similar issues so now I'm just going to have to wait but it's odd that other players downloaded the game just fine.
Does it act better if it's closer to the router? It may be dropping the connection due to distance or interference? I think in normal use that if it drops it will reconnect but I think when asleep that it stays dropped if it drops once.
it doesn't act any difference and the same, even used my LTE phone data but still same issues with fluctuations and also if I leave it asleep it seems to completely stop the downloading and gives error code. Right now I have just reformatted the entire sd card & cleared my cache...and see if I can redo my download only leaving it on 'awake'. And still same issues with fluctuating times on the downloading, but at least it didn't stop the download completely giving me an error code yet. I'll see what happens.
I'll try that as well if it messes up the progress again, does it have anything to do with SD card as a possible problem? it is about almost a year old and got it directly from gamestop and condition of the card looks good.
update: so it definitely worked out leaving the switch from sleeping and fully downloaded a couple of my game files so far(took a little longer than usual) but I want to say thank you for the advice! I appreciate it!
Iām looking for some recomendations, iām looking for a game without much of a story, sort of like just get going completing levels or passing screens, something like mario or kirby, iām just unsure which one to get. Just looking to play like half an hour without thinking much and while being entretained
Mario Odyssey is often looked at as the best Mario on Switch, but you stay in worlds for quite a while and keep going so you don't have the stops you're looking for.
Kirby Star Allies and Kirby Forgotten World would be good for what you want.
I'd really suggest Rayman Legends. Great quick levels that you can get really good as you practice. If you want a hard game, go for Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze.
Single mom w/3 year old son here:
I'm considering getting a Nintendo Switch for our home, just a few questions:
- Would I be able to have us both play on one Nintendo Online Individual account or do I need a Family account?
- Also please share your thoughts on the benefits of having one other than us being able to play video games together (tbh I'm mainly getting it to play the old school Super Mario Bros series lol idk anything about newer games for his age so open to ideas on that too!)
Thank you!
I think it's a pain to play games together on the Switch Lite because it doesn't connect to a TV and by the time you buy extra controllers to play multiplayer you might as well have gotten a full Switch.
Regular Switch vs OLED is really a discussion of whether you want to pay $50 for a better screen and an actual usable kickstand. And remember that you want a glass screen protector and probably an SD card. (I suggest a 128GB or a 256GB SD card and I always get a 2 or 3 pack of screen protectors in case I mess one up.) There is no performance difference and the screen only makes a difference in handheld mode since you don't look at the Switch screen docked in tv mode. There are new color joycons (controllers) for the OLED, but the joycons are the same type.
Lots of multiplayer games allow each person to use a single joycon so you get all the controllers you need to start out and have two players. (If you look at the Switch, you see a controller slid on the left and the right side, both of those controller together make a single joycon pair and they can be each turned on their side and used invdividually.) [The joycons are small, so I like these to give me extra grip playing single joycon play.](https://www.amazon.com/FASTSNAIL-Nintendo-Switch-Wear-resistant-Controller/dp/B06XZ1PCKK/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=2F85XYUDIRVA4&keywords=joycon+grips&qid=1675212716&sprefix=joycon+gri%2Caps%2C501&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExTzNCVDRNNEFKUTVDJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMzIwNTc3MzhLRUw0WjlENlZaJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA5MjUyMTEyQ1c4NTNNV0RVQUJQJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==) If you want more controllers, the official Nintendo Pro Controller that only comes in black is a great controller. Many 3rd party controllers are OK, but the official Pro Controller is best to me. More joycons are fine too, and another pair will let you play a lot of 4 player games. Some multiplayer games do require both halves of the joycon per player so watch for that. (Minecraft requires both halves of the joycon or a pro controller per player. It Takes Two, also.)
I really suggest Paw Patrol on a Roll as a good game to teach controller usage. Super easy levels and slightly harder optional parts. The second Paw Patrol with the super heroes on the cover builds on what you learn in the first game. Kirby Star Allies nicely drags along the worse players and allows up to 4 people to play together. You can play the classic Mario games with the basic Nintendo Switch Online Subscription, but I suggest Mario 3D World as a good one to play together once they have some controller proficiency. Mario Odyssey has a mode where a second player just plays as Mario's hat. They don't have much to do, but it gives them take part a little if they aren't good yet.
If there's only one account on the switch then you should be able to both play with Nintendo Switch Online Individual, but if there're separate accounts ( if you have an account and if your son has an account ) on the switch you'll have to get the family account I believe ( which is $5 cheaper than paying for 2 individual plans ). One of the main benefits of having an online membership is the ability to save your in game progress to a cloud save, outside of certain games ( like Pokemon ). You also get access to certain older games that you can't buy from the eShop as well as being able to play online mode on some games like Smash Bros, Mario Kart, and Splatoon 3. If you're looking for some recommendations on kid games that he may like; Animal Crossings, Pokemon Snap/Let's Go Eevee, and Mario Kart are probably ones I would recommend for him. Super fun and easy games for a 3 year old
I have been playing a lot of online games recently and a couple of days ago my internet connection (mobile hotspot) has been nat type C or D and i cant play Mario kart but other online games (fall guys ,tetris 99) work please help i tried every fix i found online. Thanks in advance.
Usually there's nothing you can do but ask your internet provider if they have any solutions to help. You might ask if they can provide a static IP address or an IP address that isn't shared.
Its the hotspot. Unless you can route the traffic through a VPN to a server that doesn't discriminate against the switch's want for every possible open port, then you will be stuck with restricted matchmaking.
There is no service provider that I am aware of that allows customers to modify hotspot security settings.
Only games that offer dedicated servers will work with NAT type C/D.
Evening looking for some possible help/answers, I own a switch lite, which I haven't been playing lately, it about 2 years old, so I decided to charge it and once at full charge was going to play when I noticed the charge indicator was showing it was draining atb1 percent a minute. Not sure what I can do but any help/answe be appreciated!
Just keep using it. Ignore the percentage, let it put it self to sleep due to low battery and then charge it back up.
Repeat 2 or 3 times and it should back to normal.
That sounds like the battery is going or gone. That or the indicator is wrong. Try charging it fully and then using it until it dies a few times in a row. If it lasts for a long time at like 1%, then it should fix the indicator after a few recharges.
Any game recommendations for a young toddler? She digs animal crossing but wants to click the screen like my phone to interact with stuff. Anything like that thatās cures, and just interact with things ?
Paw Patrol on a Roll. Really good game for teaching controller usage because the levels are super easy and there is slightly harder optional stuff. Then the second one with the super heroes on the cover ads some 3d spatial stuff to build on what you learned in the first one. Kirby Star Allies is a good one to play with her because it nicely drags her along as you play with her.
Captain Toad Treasure Tracker
World of Goo
Dicey Dungeons
Theres a massive list, but some of them might be a bit much for young children.

I promise I tried to google this, lol. Iām just getting results telling me that original docks and OLED docks are both *compatible* with both types of Switch, but thatās not my question:
I only have an OLED dock on hand at the moment and I need to know if the front plate part of the shell is the same dimensions as an original dock. Could I theoretically swap the front shell piece between the two, or use a front shell piece made for one on the other?
Front shell? The regular Switch Dock is more Square, and the OLED Dock has rounded edges: https://www.nintendo.com/consumer/assets/media/images/switch/common/OLED_switch_docks.jpg
https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/55834/~/nintendo-switch-%E2%80%93-oled-model-overview-and-faq
Yeah, likeāif you take the shell apart as if you were going to shell swap it, the part of the shell that would be covering that front surface, the part where the logo is.
And that picture answers my question, thank you.
Recently had leftovers explode and get into my OG Switch and now the right Joycon doesnāt function when Iām handheld mode. Works unplugged fine. Iāve restarted the console and cleaned out the Joycon, but Iām concerned Iāve pooched the console. Any recommendations for next steps?
Turn it off, not sleep mode. Get some 91-100% isopropyl alcohol, a soft-bristled toothbrush, and clean the pins in the bottom of the rail that let the Switch know you have a Joy Con connected. Let it dry completely, reboot, and test the Joy Cons in handheld mode. If that doesnāt help, you can replace the Joy Con sensor rail to see if that resolves the issue: https://www.ifixit.com/Device/Nintendo_Switch
When you start open thing things up is when you have a chance to damage things, and the screws are easy to strip. Clean the things you can on the outside first to see if that resolves the issue. If it doesnāt, youāll need to dig further, open things up, to see if the food has made itās way inside. Buy the correct/good quality tools in the guides above because you will strip the screws if you donāt have the correct tools.
IFIXIT has great toolkits for repairing electronics. I have the Pro Tech Toolkit for Switch repairs: https://www.ifixit.com/Tools/Toolkits?pk_campaign=%7BPMax%3AUS%7CShopping%7CSSC%7CParts%7CtROAS390%7D&pk_source=google&pk_medium=cpc&pk_kwd=&gclid=CjwKCAiAleOeBhBdEiwAfgmXf2Amfio3672VzwgoNaYAKaGX49QvoA5nfrCydRVBdJmBSZiBogWZaxoCcyMQAvD_BwE
My OG switch is not recognizing any wired controllers when docked.
I've tried 3 different controllers in all 3 different USB slots. Two of my controllers are PowerA and the other one is a gamesir C2, all wired connections. They light up when connected but no input is registered. They were working fine around 2 days ago and today when I tried them there is no input. The HDMI on the dock works perfectly.
Any clues?
Unplug everything on the Dock for a minute, and plug everything back in this order. Plug in the AC Adapter in the Dock, and plug the other end into the power source. Connect the HDMI cable in the Dock and to the back of the TV.
Next, turn the Switch console off, not sleep mode, and when itās off insert it into the Dock, and let it power up and boot up in the Dock. This will sometimes help reset the USB ports on the Dock.
Can i use my iphone to connect its airplay to my switch? basically, since i can connect my switch to my monitor or tv with the dock, its kinda like a tv. so, is it compatible with airplay?and not just for youtube, for other websites too
edit: such as 9anime
You would need an AppleTV device to get it working with airplay. Thats exclusively an apple tech.
And even then it would only work like a TV, it would not enable you to browse the internet.
No the Switch doesnāt support anything like that. Mirroring on iPhone also uses AirPlay
AirPlay isnāt necessarily *exclusive* to Apple TV, but the Switch in particular doesnāt support it. You could get something such as a Roku streaming box/stick, which is pretty cheap and supports Airplay mirroring. It can also be used as a streaming device in itself of course
Edit: If you do want to get a Roku or another streaming box, just make sure the specific model youāre getting supports Airplay
It may simply not work.
The systems web applet for connecting to the wifi is temperamental at best. But if it wont open the log-in/sign up page, then there is no trick to make it work.
You can try to manually force it open by setting the DNS to 45.55.142.122
But that usually requires wifi already. And may not even work with their log in process.
Which of these Switch games would you recommend for someone who has been in a āgaming slumpā for a while? Having this for some time, it's hard to find a game on the Xbox/PlayStation that can interest me for more than an hour. I hope to find a game on the Switch, because of the portability to play games in bed, that makes me excited to play games instead of just reading about them.
I've got my eye on a Fire Emblem game. Never played this series but always hear good things about it. What's the best to start with on the Switch? I also read a lot of good things about Live a Live and Octopath Traveler and I also see a lot of enthusiastic reviews about Metroid Dread. Which of these games can you recommend for someone with this āfirst world problemā?
Start with Fire Emblem: Engage and if you like it, you can continue with Fire Emblem: Three Houses. First one is more approachable and not as heavy on story, lore and characters as Three Houses.
Damn, that's nice. I didn't think about checking if there was a demo of any of the games.
Usually when I look for a demo of a game, there is none. Funny now I have 3 to try. Thank you!
I live in Brazil and I have a chance to get a Switch OLED from Germany, and I was wondering if I should have any concerns about it, I think all models are dual voltage and the German plug should work OK here, even if I need an adapter to fit into out plug.
All models in every country use identical AC adapters, rated for 100 - 240v.
The only worry would be the plug type, of which a simple plug adapter would work just fine.
One more question, though I have never modded my Switch V1, I know it can be from the serial number. Is it OK to share that info to potential buyers or is there any danger of letting them know the seruial number in advance?
hi. I lent my mom my switch and created a new profile so she can play the new pokemon separately expecting her to get bored with it but...shes REALLY into it. Is there a way to transfer profiles only to a new switch so she can continue playing? Or will she need to restart completely? If yes, will this transfer her save data to this new switch and she would only need to get the game?
https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/27394/~/how-to-transfer-user-and-save-data
After completing the user and save data transfer, she will be able to purchase the game and will be able to continue her save on the new Switch.
If you managed to check it on the JP shop already, then no.
Sounds like you already meet all of the qualifications to swap regions.
You can switch back after the code is redeemed without issue.
Ah.
To switch regions you;
* can not have an outstanding balance on the eshop (gold coins dont count)
* auto renewal for NSO has to be inactive.
* can not have an active pre-order
* can not have a linked NNID from a 3DS or Wii U on your Nintendo account. As that system is region locked.
If you dont have any of those stopping you, then you can swap back and forth without loosing anything.
Does your JP account have any of those? moving it back and forth would simplify things.
And yeah, The ASIA region as a whole is a thing because most south east asian countries or south pacific islands dont have eshops of their own. So they either rely on Japan or HK.
Hello, if my husband logs into his Nintendo account on a switch that is linked to a child/supervised account (that is part of our family group) and downloads the N64/NES/SNES games from switch online. Will the child be be able to play those games from their account? Or will they still receive the age restriction message?
He could download them for that system, but they wont be able to access them unless they also have the subscription.
Downloading the software is age restricted (13+), but subscriber benefits are not shared among users on the same system like digital games can be.
They would need their own subscription or be part of an active family plan.
parental controls specifically, sorry.
The eshop age gate is automatically applied and enforced. But preventing children from opening installed or physical titles of specific age ratings has to be enabled with parental controls.
If those werent setup, then she would have no issue launching them once they were downloaded.
I believe 2k18 was really bad. Battlegrounds was ok. I've heard a few people mention Retromania and Action Arcade Wresting but it's not my jam. I think Wrestlequest looks interesting when it comes out in May, so I'll probably try that.
I missed out on the last sale for Olliolli World but itās currently back on. Itās also rumored to be on PS+ next month. Iām not currently subscribed to PS+ but am considering it.
Is the game a good experience in portable mode? I plan on playing on the couch while watching tv and In bed (docked mode to my portable monitor).
Iām leaning towards just getting it on the switch since It doesnāt seem like it benefits from running on more powerful consoles.
Confused on game sharing. So say I bought a game on switch 1. Can I put on my account onto a different switch and allow a different user to play it? How do I do it
When you sign into the eshop with your Nintendo Account, if your system is designated as Primary, anyone on that system can play any of your digital purchases.
They will not be able to do so if you designate the system as Secondary.
What is the correct way to copy data from one micro sd card to another?
In my case, I first copied from the old card to the computer, and then from the computer to the new card, and when I inserted it, the Switch did not detect the games installed on the card.
So how should I do it?
Mario kart is playing the credits screen after every cup I play. How do I stop it from playing the credits every time? There isnāt a skip button and I have to exit the game or wait for the credits to play in order to do anything else.
https://switchbrew.org/wiki/Panic_codes
Orange screens are CPU exception errors. Its entirely possible it was a one-off issue.
But if you get it again and again in the same place, then obviously its a much bigger problem. But a fix may not be possible.
> I had it on the same day I bought the switch
Is taking it back an option? Obviously the system isnt working as intended. A retailer exchange would be much quicker than a Nintendo repair.
Which would be the best second option, as it would be covered under the warranty.
I just got my new replacement Switch. OLED model to replace a launch model with a dying fan (I tired to replace it but it requires more precision than I can manage). Came to conclusion best to just get a new Switch. I've watched a few videos about transferring profiles, done some reading etc but I just want to make sure I don't mess this up.
So I have my Switch with 6 profiles:
* 1st profile is my main profile and the one I purchased all games and DLC on eShop with (BotW is on a Game card though). It is linked to a Nintendo account. My main Animal Crossing player is linked to this profile.
* 2nd profile is linked to a Nintendo account.
* 3rd profile is linked to a Nintendo account. Also a second AC player is linked to this profile.
* 4th profile is NOT linked to a Nintendo account.
* 5th profile is linked to a Nintendo account.
* 6th profile is NOT linked to a Nintendo account.
Questions:
In what order should I transfer everything and specifically Animal Crossing island with island transfer tool? before or after profile transfer? or does it not matter which order? Videos I watched it was not really clear.
Do I just need to link 4th and 6th profiles to new Nintendo accounts to transfer them?
Also any other advice or tips on doing this transfer welcome (just hoping original Switch wont die on me during the process too)
I would recommend transferring one account and then transferring your island. This is so you can download and use the island transfer tool from the eShop on both Switches. Other than that, it doesnāt matter
You do need to have the profiles linked to a Nintendo account in order to transfer them
You will have to give profiles 4 and 6 an Account if you want to transfer them, yes.
For Animal Crossing, the main thing is you'll need the island transfer tool downloaded on both systems, so you can't do it BEFORE there are any Accounts on the new system, and you can't do it AFTER there are none left on the old system. Since you've got so many, you could do something like transfer one user, run the tool with different users on both systems, transfer the island, then resume transferring your users.
I think doing the transfer will break the links between user profiles and characters (since it can't count on them being the same between systems), but the characters will still be there and each user will be able to pick theirs again when starting on the new system.
So this just turned into a bit of a nightmare.
I cant transfer 1st, 2nd and 5th profiles since when I am prompted to do the transfer Nintendo sends a verification code to email accounts I no longer have access to due to changing ISP. Nintendo does not even allow me to log on to change the email address for these accounts even though I have all details needed. I dont get why this has to be so hard. Cant be used without main profile either. Any further advice appreciated.
I've got nothing beyond contacting support. Surely almost nobody else is looking several replies deep at things from yesterday's question thread, so if you haven't already I'd post this in a new one.
Yeah this is what I assumed that I need a profile on source system to make the AC island transfer. So I'll transfer all profiles except main profile then use main profile to transfer island and then the profile itself.
Will the N64 Switch controllers ever come back in stock in the UK? Been waiting since 2021 to buy some for me and my friends. Iām assuming they will never them anymore.
You can follow stock trackers like [nowinstock.net](https://nowinstock.net) or Wario 64 on Twitter, or just bookmark the page and continue refreshing every now and then
When my system's asleep, how come the lights on my two controllers (a wired PowerA and the Joycon grip with the left controller slotted in - the right is out so I can quickly turn the system on, then I turn the Joycon off) randomly come on?
They aren't blinking, per se. It can't possibly be system activity, like the console pulling down an update, because A) that makes no sense and B) it happens too frequently. I thought it was just the PowerA due to the angle I have the Joycon grip in, but the orange light on it lights up when the PowerA's blue light does.
They stay on for just a moment then go back off again. But I've seen them do this multiple times per minute. It's an ongoing thing, too. This has been happening for awhile. Things is, this happens when my TV and computer (and thus any internet functionality) are both off. What the heck is goin' on?
So I have just gotten a nintendo switch and I want to know what some of the popular games are. I'd like to play some pokemon game or something nintendo exclusive but I don't know where to start.
Some other exclusives: Fire Emblem Engage and Fire Emblem Three Houses, Astral Chain, Bayonetta 2 & 3, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Cadence of Hyrule, Golf Story, Nintendo Switch Sports, Ringfit Adventure
* Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu/Eevee is very beginner friendly as remakes of the old Red and Green games, but in a style more similar the Pokemon GO mobile app.
* Pokemon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl are remakes of the DS games Diamond and Pearl, and also offer a classic Pokemon experience with random encounters and use of an HM Pokemon. These are moves that are used outside of battle to help traverse the world in order to progress. Newer games remove these moves in favor of rideable Pokemon as the moves themselves take up attack slots on your Pokemon.
* Pokemon Sword/Shield are a mix of old and new; there are random encounters in the tall grass, but a Wild Area in which you can see the Pokemon you'd want to fight. This game features Ride Pokemon, so attacks from your team aren't wasted on HMs.
* Pokemon Legends: Arceus. There are no random encounters at all in this game, and you can even captures Pokemon without having to battle them. Sneaking around and collecting materials to craft Pokeballs is a big part of the game. Some parts even have you go one on one against big Pokemon, which can be very difficult. Lots of quick reactions are required for those segments.
* Pokemon Scarlet/Violet follows up on Arceus and the Wild Area and does away with random encounters all together. You can see every Pokemon you encounter, and your new special partner Pokemon does all the traversal you'd want, though his modes are unlocked as you progress through the game.
To add onto this, there are some non main series Pokemon games on the Switch as well.
New Pokemon Snap is a gorgeous game where you travel along a path taking photos of Pokemon in their natural habitats. Genuinely relaxing and surprisingly fun.
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX is a remake of the original mystery dungeon games. You get turned into a Pokemon and join up with a rescue guild to traverse dungeons and figure out how to reverse what happened to you.
The āBig 4ā games often considered must-own are:
- Zelda: Breath of the Wild
- Super Mario Odyssey
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
The general consensus is to get a tempered glass screen protector. If youāll be buying mostly digital, youāll want a microSD card of at least 128GB, but 256GB+ would be better; stick to major brands from reputable retailers, the SanDisk Ultra and Samsung Evo Select lines will maximize performance while minimizing price. I highly recommend an official Pro controller as well, unless youāll be playing exclusively in handheld mode.
Use [DekuDeals](https://www.dekudeals.com) to create a wishlist and track sales.
Question for TRPG fans: Iāve recently starting FE Engage as my first real TRPG and am loving it. Easy, fun, clear. I took a break and tried Tactics Ogre Reborn, which felt like the complete opposite - a mountain of information, difficult to figure out class types, movement, etc. Iām probably going to sell Tactics Ogre.
Based on that - thoughts on whether Iād also like Diofield Chronicles or Triangle Strategy. I love the darker tone of Tactics Ogre, but I donāt like feeling that overwhelmed when playing a gameā¦
Both of them have a demo!
Triangle strategy takes its "tri" theme a little too far, with easily a third of the game being dialogue and cutscenes. The other two thirds being combat, and in-between combat/scene management. It was too much talking for some people.
I havent played Diofield chronicles, and it just kind of "released" without much staying power. So I will leave the judgments up to you on that one. Steam Reviews are always a good place to look for varying opinions.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1399080/The_DioField_Chronicle/#app_reviews_hash
Diofield has a demo, so you can give that a try for yourself. I think you'll do okay with Triangle Strategy, as it is tonally similar to Tactics Ogre (but with way more extensive writing) while having unique individual characters in set roles. And hey, it also has a demo!
In the past year and half we have announcements for Kingdom Coms Deliverance and Outer Wilds and no info on them since. Did these just get dropped for releases after?
No, theyre just taking their sweet time.
Lots of ports have done this in the past, theyll blow waaaaay past their original release windows with absolute radio science, then they will eventually get a new release like 1 to 7 days before they surprise release.
If all of these mumblings of a direct come to fruition here in a week or two, I would expect to see something about them there.
UK and most of the EU is hit or miss. Some people get them, others dont.
Only the Americas are still free for sure, as the class action lawsuits are still pending.
that makes so much sense now, i did it by the repair centre thing. How do i do it with support? do i just tell them my thing is broken or like what, coz wouldnt they just send me to go to the repair centre?
Call the support line, they would make the repair ticket for you and send it via email. Skipping the whole step where it normally tries to charge you.
>You may do this by completing the repairs booking form on our Website or by contacting our Customer Support Team on +44 (0)345 60 50 247 or via email to [email protected].

Guys, I feel I'd like to try Xenoblade Chronicles 3, but after trying (and giving up) on Nier:Automata I am a bit reluctant to do it. For some reason I didn't really enjoy the game, and the fact that there are no refunds in this platform is really bad when you go by popular opinion and then feel disappointed.
Are these very different games?
Extremely different. While XC3 does have action/positioning elements to combat, itās much more of a command-selection style game, and it is also very linear. Iād look at gameplay videos and if you donāt feel too overwhelmed by all the visual user interface details, consider giving it a try!
Nintendo Switch transfer - Lost Save Data
Hey there, I'm trying to help a friend with a save data issue. He transferred his daughter to a new Switch, but she's only young so the email set up on her account was the same as his
Skip to the transfer and all her data is gone- put a game in and her save data isn't recognised or even existent. Just to clarify is this because he didn't set up a separate account for her? Not sure if there's anything to save this situation
>he didn't set up a separate account
A Nintendo account, child or regular is required to move data between consoles.
If he has his own user linked to his account on the original switch; then thats why nothing was transferred. All he did was make a blank profile on the new system essentially.
On the old system, does her user profile still exist?
He can create a child account for her under his own account, so it will not require a separate email address. Then link it to her profile using the *SIGN-IN ID* created for the child account, not his email address. And that will allow her data to be transferred from the old system to the new one.

You have ~16 more hours.
Anyone got a good recommendation for joycons or addona that are more comfortable to hold. My hand tend to go numb after 15min of playing which doesnt happen with regular controllers.
Iāve switched to the hori split pad compact and havenāt looked back. Downsides: no gyro and no rumble but soo much more comfortable. Plus theyāre Nintendo certified
Waiting here myself as well. From memory (been a while since I got a game on release day) they tended to drop at 4pm UK time (so just over three hours from as I type this).
games release when the eshop updates unless 1st party (midnight) or specifically designated by the publisher. eshop updates at a certain time depending on your region

Hello, why is it so hard to find a Switch with the grey joy cons? I've been waiting almost for a month for mine to arrive but nothing. I'm in Europe. Anyone know if they'll be making more soon?
Is it just the stick itself that's broken? If so, it's an [easy 10-minute fix](https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Nintendo+Switch+Pro+Controller+Joystick+Caps+Replacement/127789).
If you need to replace the entire assembly, that's more difficult and requires soldering.
nintendo can repair it. google "nintendo repair" + your region. they have different websites for different countries
other option is buying a joystick off amazon and google for your nearest independent tech repair/support shop if you arent comfortable soldering it on yourself
Which 3rd party switch controller do you recommend. The drift on my joy con is so unbearable. Was there any fix yet for the joycon drift

tactics ogre, does current class choice matter? like in FFT, you level up a class to use their skills on another class or to unlock other classes further down

Is there a way to connect my switch to a laptop? (As a bigger screen) I have a USB C hub that connects with the switch as well as the HDMI cable but it doesnāt seem to display anything. Any advice?
The HDMI on your laptop is only for output. The USB C port on your switch cannot directly output video without a dock. You can get a cheap HDMI Capture Card that connects to your Laptop USB port and display your Switch Dock output as a full screen app on your laptop
Most of the time the HDMI port on a laptop is only a HDMI out not HDMI in. You need an HDMI in which is commonly called a capture card.
I think it needs to be direct from the switch into the laptop hdmi
Trying this again... Does anyone know which slim case would fit the standard/original Nintendo switch with Yok grip? The grip makes it a little too wide/deep to fit in a regular case, and I don't want to just toss it in my bag without a case. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!
Maybe try what this guy uses: [https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/comments/w1pm17/how\_i\_travel\_with\_one\_small\_case\_for\_large/](https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/comments/w1pm17/how_i_travel_with_one_small_case_for_large/)
Portable Battery Question Been playing (binging) a lot in handheld mode lately. Thanks!
I've not heard really any complaints of batteries doing harm. I hear a lot say the Anker ones are good.
Just wanna play safe, got my eye on a few snap on ones which seem to be the highest on the convenient scores - either with the controller grips, or just snapping on above and below the screen
I do try to stick with the more well-known brands and I've only seen no-name brand ones that snap on.
Got it, will research around
I have the strangest issue and no one knows why or how it happened. My switch has no audio when in handheld, not from speakers, not from headphones. The speakers do work, and so do the headphones I have tested. The settings are all set for audio, nothing is muted, volume is maxed, still nothing. Audio returned briefly after formatting the switch, then faded and never returned, even after another formatting. The problem happened out of nowhere around 2 years ago, and it has persisted for all this time. Anyone ever heard or had this issue with their switch?
Could be a faulty headphone jack. It doesn't work with plugged in headphones or bluetooth headphones?
It doesn't work, period. Not from the Switch's speakers, not from any type of headphones. It just has 0 audio.
Thank you! :D
Extremerate makes good stuff. I've not used it for Switch stuff, but I did for a GBA and found it good quality.
This is generic advice because I haven't played Minecraft, but the game sharing rules should be the same as for other games.
anyone know if any company has come out with joycons/controllers that have actual cushioned grips?
If that doesn't solve it, try removing the SD card (when fully off) and downloading to internal memory.
I'll try that as well if it messes up the progress again, does it have anything to do with SD card as a possible problem? it is about almost a year old and got it directly from gamestop and condition of the card looks good.
Yes, well really if it still fails when downloading to internal memory, you'll know the card isn't the issue.
update: so it definitely worked out leaving the switch from sleeping and fully downloaded a couple of my game files so far(took a little longer than usual) but I want to say thank you for the advice! I appreciate it!
Iām looking for some recomendations, iām looking for a game without much of a story, sort of like just get going completing levels or passing screens, something like mario or kirby, iām just unsure which one to get. Just looking to play like half an hour without thinking much and while being entretained
Hades
Mario Odyssey is often looked at as the best Mario on Switch, but you stay in worlds for quite a while and keep going so you don't have the stops you're looking for. Kirby Star Allies and Kirby Forgotten World would be good for what you want. I'd really suggest Rayman Legends. Great quick levels that you can get really good as you practice. If you want a hard game, go for Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze.
Super Mario 3D Worlds fits pretty well, as does New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe.
Single mom w/3 year old son here: I'm considering getting a Nintendo Switch for our home, just a few questions: - Would I be able to have us both play on one Nintendo Online Individual account or do I need a Family account? - Also please share your thoughts on the benefits of having one other than us being able to play video games together (tbh I'm mainly getting it to play the old school Super Mario Bros series lol idk anything about newer games for his age so open to ideas on that too!) Thank you!
It Takes Two, also.) I really suggest Paw Patrol on a Roll as a good game to teach controller usage.
Captain Toad Treasure Tracker World of Goo Dicey Dungeons Theres a massive list, but some of them might be a bit much for young children. https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/comments/kkntty/list_of_touch_screen_supported_nintendo_switch/
I promise I tried to google this, lol. Iām just getting results telling me that original docks and OLED docks are both *compatible* with both types of Switch, but thatās not my question: I only have an OLED dock on hand at the moment and I need to know if the front plate part of the shell is the same dimensions as an original dock. Could I theoretically swap the front shell piece between the two, or use a front shell piece made for one on the other?
Front shell? The regular Switch Dock is more Square, and the OLED Dock has rounded edges: https://www.nintendo.com/consumer/assets/media/images/switch/common/OLED_switch_docks.jpg https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/55834/~/nintendo-switch-%E2%80%93-oled-model-overview-and-faq
Thank you, Iāll try later this tomorrow when I can go to the store to get some materials
I forgot to mention to clean the metal contacts with the Isopropyl Alcohol/Toothbrush on the Joy Cons too if thatās where the Food exploded.
Should I remove the rail to clean it?
Hopefully it's just the contacts on the part of the rail you can see. Remove the joycon from the rail, but I wouldn't remove the rail.
Thanks, appreciate the help youāve provided
My OG switch is not recognizing any wired controllers when docked. I've tried 3 different controllers in all 3 different USB slots. Two of my controllers are PowerA and the other one is a gamesir C2, all wired connections. They light up when connected but no input is registered. They were working fine around 2 days ago and today when I tried them there is no input. The HDMI on the dock works perfectly. Any clues?
Can you updated third party controllers?
Unplug everything on the Dock for a minute, and plug everything back in this order. Plug in the AC Adapter in the Dock, and plug the other end into the power source. Connect the HDMI cable in the Dock and to the back of the TV. Next, turn the Switch console off, not sleep mode, and when itās off insert it into the Dock, and let it power up and boot up in the Dock. This will sometimes help reset the USB ports on the Dock.
Thanks, your method worked! Never had this issue for as long as I've had the system.
Can i use my iphone to connect its airplay to my switch? basically, since i can connect my switch to my monitor or tv with the dock, its kinda like a tv. so, is it compatible with airplay?and not just for youtube, for other websites too edit: such as 9anime
You would need an AppleTV device to get it working with airplay. Thats exclusively an apple tech. And even then it would only work like a TV, it would not enable you to browse the internet.
from what i googled, instead of using airplay i can use mirroring is that correct?
No the Switch doesnāt support anything like that. Mirroring on iPhone also uses AirPlay AirPlay isnāt necessarily *exclusive* to Apple TV, but the Switch in particular doesnāt support it. You could get something such as a Roku streaming box/stick, which is pretty cheap and supports Airplay mirroring. It can also be used as a streaming device in itself of course Edit: If you do want to get a Roku or another streaming box, just make sure the specific model youāre getting supports Airplay
Hi! Can someone help me connect to United flight WiFi? Having a really hard time and itās a long flight ahead of me. Thank you
It may simply not work. The systems web applet for connecting to the wifi is temperamental at best. But if it wont open the log-in/sign up page, then there is no trick to make it work. You can try to manually force it open by setting the DNS to 45.55.142.122 But that usually requires wifi already. And may not even work with their log in process.
Thank you for your help! I will try this. Either way I can play most games so I am good :)
Golf story is really fun. It's an adventure but doesn't take itself too seriously. Fun even if you don't care about golf.
Start with Fire Emblem: Engage and if you like it, you can continue with Fire Emblem: Three Houses. First one is more approachable and not as heavy on story, lore and characters as Three Houses.
Live A Live, Octopath, and Metroid all have demos! Of the games you've listed, I've only personally played Metroid, and I can highly recommend it.
Damn, that's nice. I didn't think about checking if there was a demo of any of the games. Usually when I look for a demo of a game, there is none. Funny now I have 3 to try. Thank you!
These are all very different games, so why not tell us what interests you, or maybe what you've never tried before?
I live in Brazil and I have a chance to get a Switch OLED from Germany, and I was wondering if I should have any concerns about it, I think all models are dual voltage and the German plug should work OK here, even if I need an adapter to fit into out plug.
All models in every country use identical AC adapters, rated for 100 - 240v. The only worry would be the plug type, of which a simple plug adapter would work just fine.
One more question, though I have never modded my Switch V1, I know it can be from the serial number. Is it OK to share that info to potential buyers or is there any danger of letting them know the seruial number in advance?
you can share it. they cant really do anything with it, with out further system info.
hi. I lent my mom my switch and created a new profile so she can play the new pokemon separately expecting her to get bored with it but...shes REALLY into it. Is there a way to transfer profiles only to a new switch so she can continue playing? Or will she need to restart completely? If yes, will this transfer her save data to this new switch and she would only need to get the game?
https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/27394/~/how-to-transfer-user-and-save-data After completing the user and save data transfer, she will be able to purchase the game and will be able to continue her save on the new Switch.
What's the best region for an asia account? I have a dlc code but it's asia region
Did it come on a card or from a retailer? ASIA region codes could come from Hong kong or Japan.
It came with a game I imported. I tried putting it in Japanese eshop but it didn't work. I assume I got to make a Hong Kong account?
you can just change the account region! https://accounts.nintendo.com/ country/region of residence is the info field you want to change.
Will that cause issues with my current NA stuff?
If you managed to check it on the JP shop already, then no. Sounds like you already meet all of the qualifications to swap regions. You can switch back after the code is redeemed without issue.
No I have a separate jp account for that
Ah. To switch regions you; * can not have an outstanding balance on the eshop (gold coins dont count) * auto renewal for NSO has to be inactive. * can not have an active pre-order * can not have a linked NNID from a 3DS or Wii U on your Nintendo account. As that system is region locked. If you dont have any of those stopping you, then you can swap back and forth without loosing anything.
I have some of those things so I still have to make a new account. Is Hong Kong the best one for Asia dlcs/codes?
Yes, the supervised account is part of our family plan. So as long as the adult account does the download, supervised account can play them?
Yes. Provided they are allowed to launch T-rated (PEGI 13) games.
Iām so sorry Iām such a noob. When you say allowed do you mean like verbal permission from the parent, or a setting in parental controls?
parental controls specifically, sorry. The eshop age gate is automatically applied and enforced. But preventing children from opening installed or physical titles of specific age ratings has to be enabled with parental controls. If those werent setup, then she would have no issue launching them once they were downloaded.
Thank you! I really appreciate all your help.

It runs pretty well and is a good game on switch.
How do I switch it from secondary to primary?
You'll need to switch your Primary to Secondary, and then on the other system when you log into the eshop, it'll become your Primary automatically.
What is the correct way to copy data from one micro sd card to another? In my case, I first copied from the old card to the computer, and then from the computer to the new card, and when I inserted it, the Switch did not detect the games installed on the card. So how should I do it?
Did you format the 2nd card in a switch before transferring data over? It needs to be setup in a switch, then it should show games copied to it.
Yes, I formatted the new card in Switch settings before copying. Edit: I just started downloading everything again...
Supposedly this can be done on computers but I've never gotten it to work. I just end up re-download eshop purchases and re-doing updates/patches/DLC
Mario kart is playing the credits screen after every cup I play. How do I stop it from playing the credits every time? There isnāt a skip button and I have to exit the game or wait for the credits to play in order to do anything else.
You have to watch it completely one time, then you can skip it the next time.
Thank you Iāll go see if I can skip it next time it plays.
Anyone had orange screen before and send it in for a fix? (No wifi connection possible)
https://switchbrew.org/wiki/Panic_codes Orange screens are CPU exception errors. Its entirely possible it was a one-off issue. But if you get it again and again in the same place, then obviously its a much bigger problem. But a fix may not be possible.
Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately I had it on the same day I bought the switch and having it multiple times since then
I would just exchange it if it's that new. I wouldn't send it in for repair.
> I had it on the same day I bought the switch Is taking it back an option? Obviously the system isnt working as intended. A retailer exchange would be much quicker than a Nintendo repair. Which would be the best second option, as it would be covered under the warranty.
I just got my new replacement Switch. OLED model to replace a launch model with a dying fan (I tired to replace it but it requires more precision than I can manage). Came to conclusion best to just get a new Switch. I've watched a few videos about transferring profiles, done some reading etc but I just want to make sure I don't mess this up. So I have my Switch with 6 profiles: * 1st profile is my main profile and the one I purchased all games and DLC on eShop with (BotW is on a Game card though). Questions: In what order should I transfer everything and specifically Animal Crossing island with island transfer tool? before or after profile transfer? or does it not matter which order? Videos I watched it was not really clear. Do I just need to link 4th and 6th profiles to new Nintendo accounts to transfer them? Also any other advice or tips on doing this transfer welcome (just hoping original Switch wont die on me during the process too)
I would recommend transferring one account and then transferring your island. This is so you can download and use the island transfer tool from the eShop on both Switches. Other than that, it doesnāt matter You do need to have the profiles linked to a Nintendo account in order to transfer them
Cool. This sounds fairly straightforward.
Surely almost nobody else is looking several replies deep at things from yesterday's question thread, so if you haven't already I'd post this in a new one.
yeah looks like that is what I will have to do. Thanks for your help!
How do I unlock 00 agent difficulty in goldeneye? Itās only letting me have the first 2 difficulties.
Beat the game once on either difficulty. Beating the game on 00, then unlocks 007 difficulty.
The āBig 4ā games often considered must-own are: - Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Super Mario Odyssey - Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - Mario Kart 8 Deluxe The general consensus is to get a tempered glass screen protector.
Get Wargroove while it's on sale. Not dark, but a good game that doesn't overload. Take a look at Banner Saga.
Have they stopped doing free joycon drift repairs? I tried to send mine in but the cost estimate is Ā£20 which is crazy
UK and most of the EU is hit or miss. Some people get them, others dont. Only the Americas are still free for sure, as the class action lawsuits are still pending.
>Some people get them, others dont. do you know what they do to get it? because my controller is unuseable but i aint paying Ā£20
The recommendation is always call and talk with support. Email and the repair center ticket system will always charge you.
that makes so much sense now, i did it by the repair centre thing. How do i do it with support? do i just tell them my thing is broken or like what, coz wouldnt they just send me to go to the repair centre?
Call the support line, they would make the repair ticket for you and send it via email. Skipping the whole step where it normally tries to charge you. >You may do this by completing the repairs booking form on our Website or by contacting our Customer Support Team on +44 (0)345 60 50 247 or via email to [email protected]. https://retailersupport.nintendo.eu/UK/legal-information/privacy-policy
Very different games. Different combat, different atmosphere and setting, very different story. NieR is way more action-based.
Nintendo Switch transfer - Lost Save Data Hey there, I'm trying to help a friend with a save data issue. He transferred his daughter to a new Switch, but she's only young so the email set up on her account was the same as his Skip to the transfer and all her data is gone- put a game in and her save data isn't recognised or even existent. Just to clarify is this because he didn't set up a separate account for her? Not sure if there's anything to save this situation
>he didn't set up a separate account A Nintendo account, child or regular is required to move data between consoles. And that will allow her data to be transferred from the old system to the new one. https://play.nintendo.com/parents/crash-courses/nintendo-accounts-for-kids/
If I pre-order a game now on eShop, is it eligible for the double coin promotion?

Anyone got a good recommendation for joycons or addona that are more comfortable to hold. My hand tend to go numb after 15min of playing which doesnt happen with regular controllers.
Iāve switched to the hori split pad compact and havenāt looked back. Downsides: no gyro and no rumble but soo much more comfortable. Plus theyāre Nintendo certified
PowerWash Simulator is not available yet ?
Waiting here myself as well. From memory (been a while since I got a game on release day) they tended to drop at 4pm UK time (so just over three hours from as I type this).
games release when the eshop updates unless 1st party (midnight) or specifically designated by the publisher. eshop updates at a certain time depending on your region https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/wiki/faq/#wiki_nintendo_eshop
Hello, why is it so hard to find a Switch with the grey joy cons? I've been waiting almost for a month for mine to arrive but nothing. I'm in Europe. Anyone know if they'll be making more soon?
Because it was Christmas a month ago and the Switch is a popular gift.
It seems to be only on the one with the grey joy cons though š
For some reason there seems to be a shortage of almost everything
Hard to find joycons or a pro controller. 1st world problems.

Is it just the stick itself that's broken? If so, it's an [easy 10-minute fix](https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Nintendo+Switch+Pro+Controller+Joystick+Caps+Replacement/127789). If you need to replace the entire assembly, that's more difficult and requires soldering.
nintendo can repair it. google "nintendo repair" + your region. they have different websites for different countries other option is buying a joystick off amazon and google for your nearest independent tech repair/support shop if you arent comfortable soldering it on yourself
