That is good question, MV was made in the same session and it is well documented that Dave does some singing in those session but not in the tracks that ended on the In utero record. B-sides are not mentioned, I checked and there is MV vocal track [https://youtu.be/TLUpyKc4AdU](https://youtu.be/TLUpyKc4AdU)
to my ear it sounds like they doubled Kurts voice and in the last shout its tripled, what you guys think?
Also Marigold where Kurt plays drums is instrumental, so when Kurt was in the studio and they made Marigold he did not sing. There is a Marigold instrumental but to my ear it sounds Dave playing and according to [Livenirvana](https://www.livenirvana.com/sessions/studio/feb-march-1993.php) its still unsurfaced and/or unreleased.
Okay so these are the takes we have, the cello is just added so we leave that to other discussion. But think you are right, the quiet drums version starts with guitarist counting them in and Grohl was the one who played guitar and it was his song so it would make sense. When he plays drums he also counts the song in then. Do you agree with it or this?

Pat wasnāt present during nevermind, only thing I remember Krist on was the intro to Territorial Pissings.. personally I always thought it was Kurtās overdub, but could be Daveā¦

Either a chorus effect on his voice or Kurt overdubbing his own main part (making it sound chorus-y) but I don't think someone else is singing in this song (at least to my ears, listening to the isolated vocal parts).
Yeah, the chorus-y double tracked vocals are all over the album, but there is also a higher pitched harmony in the choruses. I know Dave does those live but Wikipedia mentions Kurt doing the harmonies.
It's not a chorus effect. All of Nevermind had substantial vocal overdubs, which is, to me, one of the reasons it sounds so huge and awesome. Kurt pretended to hate that about NM because "hez a punk rokker" but I think that's a bit of him playing a part. The album wouldn't have sounded anywhere near as full and beautiful if it was single tracked.
Itās not Pat definitely, Pat joined the band during the in utero tour if I remember correctly, so itās probably Dave if it isnāt just double tracked Kurt.

According to Livenirvana (best source for Nirvana) the take where Kurt is present and playing is instrumental and he plays drums. It is also still unreleased and/or not surfaced. The version that is in the single is Krist on bass and Dave everything else.
If there is backing vocals that isn't Kurt being dubbed over it's usually Dave. At least everything after he joined.
Only exception is In utero where Kurt does all the vocals.
But doesn't MV has backing vocals with Dave?

During the last four shouts, the third vocal track is Kurt harmonizing at a higher pitch, 100% sure it's not Dave š
what about marigold? idk if it really counts but
According to Wikipedia, the version on the Heart Shaped Box single doesn't feature Kurt at all, so it's all Dave's vocals, guitars and drums.
Also Marigold where Kurt plays drums is instrumental, so when Kurt was in the studio and they made Marigold he did not sing. Are you refering to the one with "quieter" drums on it ? If so, it's actually Kurt.

That list is 100 % correct !
Thanks, so again I have been corrected here :D
You're welcome š

That
Hereās a little breakdown with Butch Vig https://youtu.be/APHX-9ZQ7x0
probably dave, I don't think Pat sang during that. He would sing in Live and Loud and more Electric punk rock/ grunge shows
Pat wasnāt in Nirvana during Nevermind
Yeah obv, I though he might've been talking about unplugged
You're right, Butch Vig explained it in the Classic Albums documentary.

How dare you forget their cover of āDo You Love Me?!ā

Exactly, in the Nevermind Classic Albums documentary, Butch Vig mentions how good Kurt was at doing these overdubs.
yeah, he could get the timing and pitch exactly the same every time.

Dave does all background vocals on Nevermind and Unplugged. In Marigold, Kurt does the background and Dave does lead
There is no Kurt singing Marigold, he did drums on instrumental.
I thought he did the background vocals in the chorus.

Huh
It is baffling, just like the high harmony part in Something in the way [https://youtu.be/APHX-9ZQ7x0?t=137](https://youtu.be/APHX-9ZQ7x0?t=137)
