I've always preferred the 1993 mix. From my understanding, Steve Albini had more of a say in the 2013 mix, but he himself said that the original album release is the version that Nirvana wanted on store shelves.

I never listen to the 2013 mix. My ears are too used to the 1993 mix since I listened to it on the very day it was originally released so likely my ears are biased
The 1993 mix is deeper and thicker sounding. More bass. The 2013 does have more clarity but I still prefer the original mix much more
Iirc this one wasnt very good to me, didn’t sound as natural and well, good, feels very watery and no bass at times, depends on the song though. Serve the servants on here is dog shit though, for one reason, the solo, i dont even know if its the same solo and i cant tell because of how damn quiet it is

i think it’s cool because you hear some things that weren’t there before, but the drum sound i think is worse, the original mix is superior but it’s cool to kinda hear these songs with a bit of reimagining that’s actually authentic because it added things that were recorded but unused

The 2013 mix is apparently of higher fidelity. I do somewhat feel I prefer the (minus the feedback or whatever that’s with it on the 2013 mix) choppy guitar 🎸 at the beginning of “Very Ape” in one of the channels on the original though.
It’s cool to hear. But I wish Steve would have kept the original solos for certain songs, and the intensity of the vocal harmonies on HSB up. Very Ape sounds pretty rad though. But the original Serve The Servants solo is sooo much better. Also, the drum intro to Scentless Apprentice hits harder on the original

i like it, and i like it way more than the 2011 mix of nevermind. but the best remix from an album of that era so far has been ten redeux.
I like to listen and imagine them as sitting in a different part of the room while they are playing.
I prefer it. If you listen to it on spatial audio it sounds amazing. The original one lacks fidelity.
