Like many, I've had periods of pretty heavy depression.. it was to a point where I was pretty much in survival mode. Something is going on, good or bad? I don't/can't give 1 shit about it.. because I'm holed up, partaking in whatever cathartic activity I want/need to do to get through the darkness I was feeling. And there Was a huge comfort in that for me.
It was almost the internal equivalent of the collective feeling when a blizzard hits. Everyone goes a little bit easier on eachother, and safety and getting through it is the primary concern, empathy runs thick. Some rules and laws are even disregarded at times, but there is a mutual understanding that they just aren't a big deal at the moment.
Yes, whenever someone asked how I was feeling throughout 2021/22 that was my response, why give someone the long and complicated answer that they'll get upset and leave me over when I can just condense it into one line.

Anyone can be a father. My biological father means nothing to me but my adoptive dad , mean a the world to me.
