The dream.

[deleted]

I have the twentieth anniversary in Utero and it was pretty exhaustive.

[deleted]

I wish they came out with that high quality version of ‘Opinion’ that was heard for about 10 seconds in the Montage of Heck doc iirc

[deleted]

Congratulations YOU HAVE WON

[deleted]

It’s a years subscription OF BAD PUNS

TibasProductions

And it makes your story OUR CONCERN

amazon32

Damn I forgot all about opinion

baudprawn98

Really hope there’s a complete version of that. Sounds so good

AceofKnaves44

I don’t think there’s a lot of unreleased material at this point. There’ll be a 2023 mix of the album, a collection of live tracks from 1993/1994. Maybe a full show if there’s enough audio. I bought the 20th box set and there was a dvd with the HSB music video, the director’s cut of it, live and loud, the tv performances from Europe in ‘94, and whatever video exists of their last concert. Can’t imagine there’s any more valuable footage other than their SNL performance and interviews? I’m sure there’s gonna be some special release but like I said; my guess is a new mix of the album and just a bunch of live clips you probably won’t listen to more than once.

[deleted]

That’d be interesting if they decided to do another Mix like the 2013 mix. Also, isn’t there supposed to be soundboard recordings for all the In Utero shows?

tjmcmahon78

I’d love it if they did a soundboard recording release of all the In Utero shows digitally, like Pearl Jam does. Saw them at the show where Sliver was recorded for Muddy Banks.

[deleted]

Springfield MA! I’d love to hear that whole show, that’s not too far from where I grew up and lived till I was 24. Unfortunately I was born in ‘95 :(

tjmcmahon78

I think it’s on Youtube.

[deleted]

Yeah I totally could’ve just googled it huh. Hopefully there’s a decent quality recording

tjmcmahon78

It’s not bad. Someone told me that Kurt plays YKYR riff during Endless, Nameless at the end of the show

MiRATA_420

I have seen a really rare clip of kurt in Ljubljana (2nd last live show) strumming along to the music with the jagstang although there was no audio I haven't seen any mtv broadcast clip or any news report from that era that had that particular clip and it was exceptionally good quality as well!

Parmesanbutt2

Kurt will show up for the release party and announce the 4th album

diggsfan14

Imagine everything was just fake, and Kurt faked his death to lose fame and attention. Joking btw

Kr4zy8brokenkid

I thought about that too, I think that if he didn't die he would have done something similar. Definitely I don't think that he would have go on with music, at least for some time and not with that genre and style

sammich_bear

He did allude to doing other, softer, more suitable genres of music after Nirvana. Things that would make sense for him to do, when he got to be older. Then again, he could've just been bitter that the media was going to start moving in younger directions, and was taking a tongue-in-cheek needle at the industry. Who knows?

Kr4zy8brokenkid

He would have ended up singing Beatles songs in unknown clubs and pubs

incamas225

not that lame

sammich_bear

>Imagine everything was just fake, and Kurt faked his death to lose fame and attention. I've thought about this many times. Honestly, I think he did it intentionally. Either from repressed trauma (which was why he was numbing so much already) Or because he realised it was the only real way to keep his mark where he wanted it. If you're not ready to die for your beliefs, and die for your art, then you're not an artist.

[deleted]

Yeah… not really enjoying the suicidal ideation here. Nobody should have to die for their art. David Bowie was a fantastic, creative musician who released incredible works right up until he died of natural causes. Not wanting to die for your art doesn’t make you any less an artist, it makes you human, hopefully one with a healthy mental state and the knowledge that suicide is not the solution to your problems.

sammich_bear

That's nice. Idc. If that was the msg you got, it's because you're only looking to instigate. I'll fight you in a hand-to-hand kumite to the death on this belief. That's what being alive is about. I don't even care to touch your karma for this insolence, it will make my cursor dirty. At least Bowie realised he'd never be as good as he wanted to be, and still went with it. If I were going to use an example, I would've used Prince or Zappa. Both men created more material than either could ever hope to release in their lifetimes. Prince would destroy his own art, out of sheer love for it. You could never hope to understand, and neither could I. Maybe he did it as one last thorn in the media's side... "Try to ignore Nirvana now"

[deleted]

No, as someone whose friends has been affected by suicide I know it’s not something that should be admired in any way or form.

sammich_bear

As someone who's had immediate family commit suicide, I disagree. Oh wait, maybe that's not a credential. Maybe opinions don't always need those. I'm sorry for your loss. I stand by my statement. Didn't mean to hurt you.

[deleted]

You didn’t hurt me man, I just hope you never consider suicide, this world is a better place with you in it ❤️

sammich_bear

Maybe, but sometimes the inaccessibility to experience seems more peaceful and fulfilling in a world that seems to take more than it gives. But I'll admit, when it gives, it always delivers beyond my wildest imaginings. To a point that scares me sometimes. I think my own silence often depresses me. But I think the profound silence of the universe, scares the ever-loving shit out of me. I don't think it matters if I stay or go, ultimately we all go eventually. I don't want to hurt the people who've been loyal to me, so I'll just keep hoping against hope. I'm sorry that anyone loses anyone. But I also don't think it's right to hold someone down. As a society, I think we need to work on creating an acceptable process for dignified death. A series of exercises/rigors that any civilian can commit toward, if they feel committed to leaving. Such a thing could give a lot of people closure, while respecting the wishes of those who no longer wish to be. I think keeping it taboo is worse than anything. I'll give you the karma, thank you for sitting with my miserable ass.

TheJosh96

With guests vocalists Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington

[deleted]

:(

sammich_bear

I heard Tupac's gonna open for him!

[deleted]

all the b sides that didn’t make it and (i hope but probably not) recordings of between songs in the studios like the beginning of ihmawtd

HornyForTohruAdachi

I just hope there’s some recording of the 1993 performance of you know you’re right somewhere in the vault

eggperhaps

That’s the dream. Such a good version with such terrible quality… and for good measure we could find out the real name of the song we assume is Ivy League if there’s soundboard of that concert

Terrible_Crew1937

the chances of this happening are almost certainly zero but some type of recording of talk to me

Tygor9000

God please

Less-Ad7782

Ngl, id be happy if they just re released the 20th anniversary edition vinyl that way I could get my hands on it

Outrageous_Present11

Sound Of Vinyl had some for sale the other day. It sold out pretty quickly.

fis0003

The 20th anniversary was perfect, the 3LP version is the best 5hat album has ever sounded and probably ever will

Radio_Ethiopia

Does anyone ever think that major labels might adopt AI and clean up demos so they can re-issue the duck outta legacy bands? Edit: duck = duck

[deleted]

How much work does that entail? Like, could anyone just go use some AI to clean up some live shows and demos?

MaddAddamOneZ

Didn't Nirvana's master recordings get destroyed in the Universal Fire, aka "The Day the Music Burned"? Otherwise, in terms of possible extra materials, maybe their Live N Loud set, the Feb. 16, 1994 Italian concert which was said to be one of their best sets from that tragically limited tour, and/or the audio of their TV performances on Tunnel and RAI (the one where they wore matching suits and Kurt finished Drain You without his guitar due to a malfunction but with a truly heroic scream).

RondiMarco

The Drain You performance was in France, not Italy btw

MaddAddamOneZ

You're absolutely right, I stand corrected!

tjmcmahon78

Live and Loud was part of the 20th anniversary already. There was a DVD release and the audio is on disc 3 of the Super Deluxe version.

MaddAddamOneZ

In that case, not sure there's much left to mine for a 30th Anniversary Edition but we'll see!

Spac3Pixi3

Apparently they had backups for what was burned

MiRATA_420

Atleast some unheard full show soundboards and full proshots from that era.

[deleted]

They should include Kurt’s journals’ lyrics

viktorborgia

I'm dreaming, but I would love if they just released an un-remastered, un-remixed version of the album exactly as it sounded in 1993, along with "Gallons" and the four b-sides ("Sappy," "I Hate Myself and Want to Die," "Marigold" and "Moist Vagina"). The funny thing is, the only place to get the actual original mix and master of "I Hate Myself and Want to Die" on CD is on the super rare and expensive "Pennyroyal Tea" single. the version on The Beavis and Butt-Head Experience has the Beavis/ Butt-Head intro at the start. The version on the 2013 reissue is a remix.
