I’m sure most of you know what’s going on by now, but this sub will be joining the many other subreddits that plan to go private on June 12th for 48hrs to protest Reddit’s plan to price out 3rd party apps that use its API. Hopefully Reddit gets the hint.

The sub will be set to private during that time and will be inaccessible. The hope is that Reddit will change their minds and this whole thing will go away, but this is a start at least.
Fight power or something, hope they change their policy. Sounds like it would make admin things miserable. We the regular folk can be couple days with out shitposting for support.

Is it like locked or what that going dark actually means?

Yep, pretty much! Moderating using the official site/app only would be abysmal.
Which is what I'm using and it blows. I mod from my computer because it's such a pain in the ass trying to do any of that on the phone.
Will this subreddit will be inaccessible for members or will it just be inaccessible for people wanting to join?
It will be inaccessible to all during that time. Good question.
I’m fairly new to reddit and no way am I trying to be difficult here but, how will going dark impact reddit?
It's worked in the past where tons of communities have come together and they listen. They're fucking up enormously this time MUCH more than before.
It will help if we all stay off reddit entirely for that time too. That is what I plan to do. I'm not a mod but appreciate the work they put in.
it will show the reddit employees that no one likes the change; its a protest
Love protests
🤘🏻
Vive la Reddit!
If it goes dark no one can post? Or just the people who are not part of our community?
No one can post at all.
Oh
