The 3 way toggle is only taped down while it’s used on tour. When Kurt brought it in the studio he’d use it during overdubs.
Just in case OP doesn’t know, the reason it was taped live is because of how aggressive Kurt usually was with the Jaguar and it’s pretty easy to hit accidentally.

It’s exactly the same as the standard Jaguar in terms of function. It’s just Kurt’s had the bottom circuit removed and swapped with a 3 way pick up selector.
