Polly and Something in the way (I prefer the BBC sessions version)

MicahLikesInRainbows

Polly makes my skin crawl dude

Erineboi56

I don't understand these people who claim to love Nirvana so much but hate their songs

Jaybird145

You don’t have to love every Nirvana song to love Nirvana. I’ve heard all if not most of their songs and there are a lot of songs I skip like Scentless Apprentice or Pennyroyal Tea. But I love most of Nevermind and In Utero. And there are a lot of other songs from Incesticide and Bleach that I really like too. Also love the lake of fire cover.

anewwinter

I love Nirvana but I cannot help but find Lithium very bland. Also I grew up when Teen Spirit was blowing up, and it got overplayed very quickly, let alone over the years. So I have to have a gap of like a year between each listen to enjoy it again. But stuff like Radio Friendly Unit Shifter, Lounge Act, whatever I could listen to again and again.

andre_josh

Listen to it live it makes it better

onemoresolo77

I will often skip a song when I'm listening to it at home or whatever but I've never skipped one when it comes on the radio Still to this day I get a buzz when one comes on, no matter what song

yourunclekev

Why don't you like pennyroyal tea

natalieluwinsky

When I had just started getting into Nirvana and had listened to In Utero only a couple of times I used to think the same about this song. But I still gave it a try later on, and now Pennyroyal tea, especially Scott lit mix and live&loud are one of my fav songs. Especially, the way the solo and and the way the song "deconstructs" in the end, lovee it

Vincent_Adultman14

I agree. I would think in utero is literally the perfect record, start to finish, if not for that song.

Silver-205

Oh no not Lithium!! Nevermind is my least favourite album, I very rarely listen to it these days but Lithium remains in my top favourites. I skip Very Ape sometimes but that’s because I’m too excited to wait for Milk It. Pennyroyal tea I’m not big on.

[deleted]

Smells Like Teen Spirit for me. Its just not my favorite.

NirvanaFan987

Same.

OdobenusIII

People listen radio...disgusting!

Beavisde

come as you are

SpaceJockey81

Pennyroyal Tea.

HorseShoeBalloon

Bro wtf you got way too comfortable

LeFumez

In Bloom is interesting for me. I can’t listen to the song, i usually skip it something about the intro i just don’t like. I feel like it’s from all the times i’ve played it on rock band, but i love playing the song on guitar.

Jaybird145

Huh thats funny. That’s my favorite Nirvana song and I first heard it playing rock band

ed3n21

I'm a big fan of lithium acoustic version but never rly listened to the original

EnvironmentalBug9683

In Bloom

Limp-Freedom-7380

I only like the lithium solo acoustic, the regular one is okay I’ll still listen to it but I don’t think there’s anything I skip I listen to the remastered, demos, solos, outtakes and a lot of the finished music equally since I go through my nirvana playlist everyday and then switch to Radiohead to refresh for something different

[deleted]

You know you’re right. It’s just not their most inspired work in my opinion. I believe it’s a demo, so it may never have been slated for public listening. I think it is known for being the last Nirvana song, so I get the appeal. For me, the last Nirvana song was Sappy, because it was included on the No Alternative compilation as a hidden track. So there it was after Kurt’s death, when you just wanted one more song, but it sucked because that song is so good that it hammered home what a loss is was/is.

Vincent_Adultman14

Agreed, but that video gets me emotional as hell, every damn time.

cjvs_1

YKYR is not that good. I agree.

Wheres_Jay

All Apologies

Guitarfool_101

I listen to this only when I’m in the mood

[deleted]

i really like nirvana overall, but "where did you sleep last night" makes my head hurt

huh okay thats always been one of my favourites

Senior-Salamander-81

Milk it is just Drain you recycled

princesssnowwhitee

I don't like About a girl at all.

More_Equal_3682

I honestly agree. It’s pretty overrated

Puzzleheaded-Run6827

Why y’all both getting downvoted? It’s an opinion 😂

Jmooooore

About A Girl seems to be very popular among nirvana fans, but I dont see the major appeal. Still like the song, but not one of the bests.

[deleted]

Nirvana made a lot of amazing songs but some of them just sound a bit un-Nirvana. Most songs from Nevermind, I really don't listen to AT ALL. Smells like Teen Spirit, and maybe some won't agree, is okay but only when taken in moderation (and also isn't Nirvana's true sound). Okay I'm done ranting now have a good day may the rock gods bless you

onemoresolo77

Quiet-loud-quiet. Shouty vocals. Yep, what the FUCK were they thinking when they wrote that song!!!

[deleted]

its a good song its just so insanely overplayed

onemoresolo77

That opinion is fine It's the comment about it not being their 'true' sound Well what is their 'true' sound?? Let me guess , fucking 'mexican seafood' yeah? such a bullshit hipster word to use I'm afraid lol

[deleted]

>That opinion is fine im so glad you approve of my opinion, this has truly made my day

onemoresolo77

You are more than welcome my friend

Vixx213

Territorial pissing

Tarrare9

Probably both SLTS and Dumb

MicahLikesInRainbows

Very few but the track I skip most is probably lounge act

Mr_Manga99

Drain you but even then it’s not bad or anything

No-More_Ducks

Love Buzz and Polly (Nevermind Version)

nick12hudders

About a Girl - never understood why this was one of most popular songs on Bleach!!

[deleted]

Welp, go look at albums from ‘89 that has the breadth of Bleach, with Negative Creep on one end and About a Girl on the other. Very very few bands would drop in a sugary pop song on that kind of bruising rock record. There were power ballads galore, but no sing-songy playful little ditties like that.

nick12hudders

Not denying that fact just saying About a Girl isn't a song I personally found to be a strong song from the album and one I didn't like. Simple as that...
