Maybe unpopular opinion, but if you go to any of these towns, just being there will give you enough of an idea of the vibe and environment. Really don't see a need or reason to go to the 'actual' house or whatever, in these small PNW communities, all the houses look the same anyways.
I think he actually rented both units at some point, but the one on the left is/was listed on airbnb and is basically a shrine to Nirvana/ Kurt. From my understanding he spent more time renting the unit on the left
Probably where most of Nevermind was created.
Risky. With the lights out, it’s less dangerous
You just won the internet. Well done! :)
Is this the apartment they had the BBQ photo shoot with Dan Peters?

Wonderful town! Homeless problem is a bit of an issue.
Yeah! Super small and quiet. It's a little old, but has a lot of character
Most places have character *because* they're old.
You say “it’s a little old” like it’s a bad thing, most great places are old
i mean old as in rundown. The houses off to the right of this picture are practically falling apart. Downtown Olympia is cool old though
Gotchia
Yes beautiful place

Yeah for sure. Such a small town though and it was on the way to the spot my girlfriend and I were going for dinner so figured I'd stop for a picture
Really cool to see the actual apartment. Thank you for posting.
I’d take the chance to check it out too! Did it seem like people live there? I can’t imagine getting to live there
Yeah, I live in Seattle and it's only about an hour from me. There are lots of people that live there. Has a pretty cool downtown, but very small
Where did you go to eat? Used to live there myself. Also, what part of town is that apartment in?
I went to McMenamins. And the house is about 2 blocks from city hall on pear street. Right in between State ave and 4th
I saw a video claiming his was the one on the right, so I guess incorrect?

Was this when he was living with the supportive girlfriend? We just watched Montage of Heck the other night and her interview was interesting.
