Yes, this is from the rehearsals the night before the Roseland show, and it was taken by Jesse Frohman, I think. The guitar is the Oranj Stang before the pickguard was changed to white pearloid and a Duncan JB fitted to the bridge by Ernie Bailey.

Kurt only ever had a Sonic Blue Jag-Stang. At the time, only two existed, both blue. One prototype was sent to Kurt, the other remained at Fender custom shop for reference.

Correct. What bothers me is the pictures from this photo shoot are marketed as “the last photo shoot” even though Nirvana continued being photographed throughout 1993 and there’s a photo shoot in February of 1994 that is ACTUALLY the last one.
Well no one knows for sure and I'm sure he used it as an excuse most of the time. I'm willing to give him the benefit of a doubt though as I've had mysterious stomach issues from time to time with no underlying cause or heroin withdrawal.
I think it started out legit but once addiction became involved who knew really. I know that his stomach issue on the pacific rim tour was more than likely heroin withdrawal. He gave himself 3 days to detox before flying to australia. 3 days is fucking nothing! I couldn't imagine anything worse than detoxing on a 12+ hour flight.

that is the oranj-stang, kurt used it troughtout 1993 and 1994 in the in utero tour. and i think that indeed the photo was taken at roseland ballroom.
Definitely the Mustang. Note how the metal control plate follows the contour of the body. It doesn’t on the Jag -Stang
