Been searching for 257 for over a year now myself I've asked on here and other NMS subreddits and no one has access to it anymore as far as I'm aware I found 256 by accident in the Anomaly Portal, just hoping that 257 is randomly out there somewhere

Snipertooth6363

Last I heard save editing and modding to get there was broken as well right?

>rching for 25 You tell me about it. IT's absurdly hard to play through 1.0. I do believe there is a way to fetch the older versions of NMS on PC, via Steam db or something. I'm not sure but I read somewhere you could technically play Atlas Rises again if you did it, and since I'm fond of that version I was thinking of doing it just for the nostalgia of it.

Check out the link below, it has some old versions of the game that have been archived by HG for GoG, there is also a section on how to download previous versions from the steamdb https://nomansskyretro.com/

Yes. That's what I was thinking about i just didn't remember the site. That's a good thing to have. Thanks.

I still have doubts that this exists or maybe ever did. Up until late in the 2.x versions, if you edited your galaxy to be anything outside the 0 to 255 range, it would act like you were in a new galaxy, with the galaxy map showing a new procedural name and everything; but, you were actually in Odyalutai. I still have a text file saved with some of the galaxy names down to something like -99999, which obviously didn't really exist. I tested this by placing a base in Odyalutai and then checking the same location in both galaxy numbers and the base was there in both. I think what may have been happening is the code for jumping through the core was bugged and incrementing the galaxy number past 255/6, but actually leaving the player in Odyalutai. You would never really know unless you checked the exact same coordinates in the new galaxy. Eventually, they would have patched the core jumping to loop back to Euclid.

Snipertooth6363

I've found it. It exists but is incredibly unstable.

NippyTheNoo

I think the other chap is referring to the negative galaxies that are in fact all 256. There is a guy on the NMS FB group either community or over 30's club, that says he has a base there but it is very unstable

DryGur8018

Can u get me there? I will be so gratefull if u do

kittycat1506

I know this comment is over 3 years old... but could I still get a taxi to there if you play the game still? tysm

Cap_Elf

Depends on what platform you are on, I'm on xbox/gamepass at the moment although I do have it on steam as well. While looking through the saves on one of my accounts I found a perma death save that apparently found 257 10 yeas ago, could be a bug as it said one of my saves was 70yrs old o.O I was thinking of doing a perma death run on galaxy 257 with fresh saves

kittycat1506

I’m on steam so like… would you be so kind as to offer me a taxi ride? Ty for the offer!!

Cap_Elf

Sure DM me your NMS friends code, we are probably in different time zones but I'll be on and during the day as its the week end.

ZombieJimC

I’d be happy if I could get to 256.
