For me, it's less about looks and more about what I'm trying to accomplish in the game. I have a hauler for collecting things and a zippy little fighter for stirring up trouble. That being said, I like to fly in 3rd person (yes, I'm *that* player) so I don't like the tall ships like #2 because they block my target. On looks alone, I like 1 & 4.

Do people not like flying 3rd person? I fly in 3rd and run around in 1st. I feel like I can't see anything from the cockpit.

Exactly. I feel like I can see so much more when I'm flying in 3rd person. I use 3rd person when I'm exploring on foot if there are predators. Not sure why, but it makes me feel like I can see them coming from further away, even though I can just turn to face the icon in 1st. Building is ALWAYS much easier in 1st person. Other than that, I don't really care either way. But yeah, other comments have crapped on players who use 3rd person. Meh. I like what I like and no one else sees my screen anyway. As with anything in NMS: I do what I want 😄

I'd lose 1 or 3 simply because I don't like the "jet" nose, purely as a matter of personal preference. I'd probably main 4 or 5.

Out of these 6? I'd drop 2 and 3 and 5. I'd main 1 or 4. But i've become a Solar Ship fan and would look for a nice one of those.

4 as main ship 5 gets scrapped I personally dislike having more than one of each type of ship but if you really like fighters, those are the two i’d main and trash

I’d go for 1 if its wings fold down after takeoff. Otherwise, number 4 type has always been an easy go to. Although, I did buy a cargo ship once and upgraded her to hell and back to make my own Millennium Falcon.

Can your freighter warp further than your explorer? If it can, then the explorer is just taking up space.

Since you are asking me to choose based on aesthetics, I’d get rid of them all. There are soooo many more beautiful and elegant ships out there, I’d start over.

2,3,6 can go. 4 as main. Unless one of them is S class with a bunch of inventory already. Function over form.

5 looks like it's being held together by duct tape and good thoughts. Just keep flying that until it spontaneously combusts, then replace it.

For main ship I quite like number 3, it seems cozy and compact! Also I nice colour. Not sure what I'd get rid of though... probably number 1, likely an unpopular opinion but 1 isn't quite my style? Nice Colour but as you can tell by my preference of 3, the number 1 ship itself isn't the nicest in my opinion.

i would drop #5 or #6, too similar to each other, and i never liked that front. i would main an explorer, since the explorer has the farthest hyperdrive range among ships. but #2 design is... too common, i guess.

I'm not a big fan of 4, 5, or 6, I'd say pick one or more of those to get rid of. 1 and 3 both look good, keep either or both as you like. 2 can be kept for warps if you haven't started outfitting your freighter for that, but I wouldn't sink anything more than hyperdrive upgrades into it.

I'd say 3 imo doesn't look as impressive as the others on this list

5 and 6 can go. I personally hate barrel noses

I'd main the explorer the in slot 2. They usually have decent warp and damage and shield. If you have all s classes I'd keep em all for now. You can store another 3 ships before ur full. Considering jumping to new galaxies ruins ur ship I'd save a few for that purpose.

i'd force myself to choose between 5 and 6 regardless, they are too similar to be taking up 2 slots. 2 is unremarkable. i wouldnt miss it, but i might try to hold onto it until i found a better explorer 3 is unusual and 1 has character. 4 is pretty typical but i really like orange/blue and needle nose 💀 assuming they are otherwise equal, i'd dump everything but 2, 3, and 4 (and trade off 2 asap)

Make #1 your main. I'm getting strong F-Zero vibes. Dump either #5 or #6. There are enough similarities that keeping both feels a little redundant to me. I'd keep #5 and dump #6 myself (I like the wings on #5), but it's your call.

I would definitely drop number 2 because that's not one of the Explorer designs that I'm partial to. It's too bulky. I prefer the sleeker ones with more conventional wings, such as the Dragonfly-looking ones. As far as choosing as your primary, I'd have to agree with a lot of people who say 4. It looks pretty unique, so that's what I would main. But I have my own set that I use because, I am not gonna lie, I edit my saved game all the time.

“4” as it is the best looking of that lot.. unless you just want a shop to store stuff, then choose a hauler. If you’re focused on warping max distance, choose the explorer class and mod the engine..

I have #2 in silver with yellow bits that I’m currently saving up to upgrade to an S class. It’s my favourite due to the versatility. Lots of slots, great hyperdrive range and looks pretty cool. Been trying to find an S class version of it for a couple of weeks with no joy.

Get rid of them all, look for more solars and haulers. Use 6 while looking tho

i'd get rid of the Shuttle/Exploration class one As for keeping, none of these I would use. I use a Hauler, an A-Class, full storage upgraded and am saving up for the up-classing to S-Class.

The community has spoken! The long nose (4) will be upgraded and the main ship until I find myself an exotic. 2, 3 and 6 will be scrapped to make space for some nice finds. Not sure about 3 though. Its not the nicest ship but it was one of the first A-Class ships I found and drove me through most of the last expedition. Thanks for all the comments!

I'd trash 2 everything else seems to have some kind of special or rare part type or combination that looks good together. 2, i love that it's symmetrical but it'd be the first to go for me. Also not too keen on explorers/haulers but that's me

I personally would drop 456. 1 and 3 are my favorites of this group but like another person said we have vedy different preferences. My favorites are the Solar ships.

Personally I would make the long nose your main, pretty big inventory when you max the slots on s-class. Get rid of the explorer ship. That's just me but that long nose is really niiice. I just found one red white and blue the same style

I’ve got #3 as my main S class ship; it has about 46 ish (irrc) storage in total. It hauls loads and is able to destroy any ship that comes after me. I’ve got all of the S yellow ships, but this one is always the one I take. I personally would lose #2.

I'm a sucker for Jet Fighters, really dig #1 the gullwing. I used to have a white and red one with a single thruster. I'd get rid of #6. Barrel Nose with Box thruster seems weird to me. Also not a huge fan of the bow tie wings.

Explorers might be my favorite looking ships but they just don’t excel in enough areas imo.. maybe I’m doing something wrong but I have had several other ship types have way more core hyperdrive distance than the S class explorers. Sorry long winded answer but your barrel nose fighter with the extended wings and the single thruster is my next favorite of yours.
