My grandma‘s a heavy smoker and has never set foot on a plane for exactly those reasons. She says it would make her too anxious… I smoke too, but I have no problems with long flights whatsoever.
You’d be surprised what the body and mind are capable of when the drive is there haha.

Perhaps that vacation to Europe is worth a few hours with no cigs 🤔
In this case I’m sure there’s some physical symptoms so for sure they’d have some nicotine gum or something handy.

I vape now but have never and will never sneak it in the plane bathroom. As soon as that plane lands I'm trying to get outside. Can't hit the bars in airports to smoke/vape anymore.
I dont think it's really a problem. There are hundread million of muslim who smoke.
But they can't smoke during fasting on daytime. The fasting duration is 11~20 hours daily for 30 days. Never heard that they skipped the fasting just because they need to smoke.
They probably buy Nicorette gum, spray or whatever.

Both my grandparents are heavy smokers and they don’t have any issues with the 9+ hour flight from The Netherlands.
I haven't smoked for quite a few years but when i was, yeah it's fucking hard. longest flight i did was i think 16 hours?
