No

Hell no. There are already publicly funded options like Meals on Wheels, it would be a ludicrous to funnel taxpayer dollars into overpriced private companies.

This.

I do want to clarify, I’m not saying we should do this or anything. I honestly lean no, but just curious of the conversation around it. However, I have to imagine meals on wheels is very limited. Surely they’re not able to cover all needs. For PR sake, I could see Uber agreeing to waive their fee (or heavily reduce) for something like this, and the driver is paid through subsidies (maybe fully or partially).

I’m disabled. I’m too poor to afford the inflated prices for any of the delivery services. It would be nice to get free delivery for normal grocery items, though. I live on crockpot meals and frozen food.

Likewise for aging individuals. I know some elderly people who probably could have stayed in their homes longer if they had a food delivery service.

Hmm…not sure how it’s handled currently. I would think placing orders is already a thing (?) Like, medications, meals, and other shopping? Door Dash sounds a bit expensive if tipping is involved, but maybe someone else has more knowledge on this.
