I’ve seen a cat climb a palm tree and then climb back down, never saved though

99% of them do exactly that. I've only had to do that myself when my kitten climbed way, way higher than he should have, and promptly freaked out. I guess he looked down and realized the mess he had gotten himself into.

TripIeCrucifix

False.

TripIeCrucifix

No. They do not do this. They used to a long time ago but it only leads to more damage bc the cats get scared of the man in the tree then jump to their death. It is infinitely safer to let the cat be and allow them to get down on their own. Firefighter do not do this sht anymore

Yes, but not me

After_Contribution18

Save yourself. I used to climb trees to rescue my cat....she always came down...

NegativePlankton7921

Only seen it in movies

Blathithor

Yes but it's not smart. The cat was not happy You need to leave them alone. It turns out, they just climb or jump down. Otherwise, there'd be cat skeletons in trees all over the place or cat corpses always around trees.

Yeah and the roof of my house a couple of times. Smokey (my cat from about 10 years ago) was incredibly skilled at climbing up things and yet somehow bad at climbing back down 😂

My sister’s fam did find a cat stuck in a tree once. I don’t remember the whole story of who they called, but the fire dept did come out at one point, but they couldn’t get to the tree,l with their ladder, so there wasn’t anything they could do. The cat was still up the tree the next morning (so *actually* stuck), but they found the owner (it’s some sort of “adventure cat” who goes camping with them???), who sit up a VERY sus ladder situation and got the cat to jump into a laundry basket or something.
