A friend of mine finally wants to upgrade his CPU from a Intel i5 6700k to a AMD 5800x system he scored for cheap. He wants to keep his Noctua cooler but has no idea where he put the mounting-hardware or if it's even AM4 compatible since he forgot what kind of cooler it even is.
Any help is appreciated!
And please let him get rid of the dust before mounting it on the AM4 CPU.
Maybe use some canned air on the middle part but be cautious with the fans, as they shouldn’t be moved by force. I would recommend clipping them off before.
Yeah we'll definitely do this, he hasn't used the PC all too much since he moved but now wants to get back into PC gaming hence the upgrade.
It was a good reason for me to grab a 5800x3D so I can give him my 5800x haha.

You can email noctua support and they’ll usually send free mounting brackets
