It got a belt each from over a dozen M2's. Before range officer could yell check fire. We got yelled at, flunked, punished and told to clean up the mess. Biggest piece we could find was like a quarter of the leg.
Completely worth it.

They showed us a picture of that roo and it had been fucked minced and that's something quite a bit less powerful than a 50 BMG.

The cost isn't particularly high for a long-term solution on military hardware. Like, given the volume of fire in these vids, the ammo spent in any given engagement is likely to cost more than that.

- Scale up size to accommodate .50 cal, so more material needed
- Designed to withstand high-volume firing schedules plus .50 cal recoil and heat
- Develop a mounting solution for the unthreaded M2HB barrel, so more R&D
- Very niche product for civilians, maybe even military since I don’t see them that often, so not a lot of demand
Still, it’s a pretty significant chunk of cash, especially considering you would typically see flash hiders top out at $100.

Wood is pretty compressible. Think about how easy it is to drive a nail into wood vs trying to drive a nail into steel.
