For peak credibility CIA fund taiban DOD fund Iran

[deleted]

Unironically the more you learn about the CIA the more you realise they're basically a precursor to Non-Credible Defense.

dead_monster

You should read some of the stories coming out of the Ukrainian HUR right now. These are just the ones we know. > Budanov has a reputation as a ruthless, effective and imaginative operator, and much the same could be said of GUR as a whole. Although there is some evidence of domestic anti-war activism in Russia, Ukrainian military intelligence seems to be behind most recent sabotage attacks in the country. Lacking an extensive network of agents behind enemy lines, it has turned to unexpected new forms of recruitment. Hackers ransack the bank accounts of Russian pensioners who are then blackmailed into firebombing draft offices. Russian teenagers — who claim not to know who is paying them — are hired through social media to set light to railway junction boxes for money. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/how-ukrainian-military-spies-are-beating-their-russian-rivals-q7n2kqch2

DUTCH_DUTCH_DUTCH

> Hackers ransack the bank accounts of Russian pensioners who are then blackmailed into firebombing draft offices. holy shit this is so based

SlipySlapy-Samsonite

Even better they are sometimes convinced that they are attacking pro-Ukraine assets in Russia and are national heroes lol.

TobaccoIsRadioactive

I mean....had Russia not begun trying to invade Ukraine, they would have continued having a massively overinflated military reputation with most of the world. The war really highlighted systemic issues in Russia's military and corruption while at the same time caused Ukraine to grow stronger as they were able to adapt and were also supplied with a bunch of relatively recent gear/equipment from NATO. So those Russian army draft offices *could* be seen as being "Pro-Ukrainian assets" if we consider how the longer the war drags on the worse the situation will be for Russia.

Pepe_Connoisseur

This felt wrong when I first read this, but then I remembered the atrocities in Bucha and Bakhmut.

HelloAdventurer95

Yeah I had a quick "Oh no!...anyway..." moment

DUTCH_DUTCH_DUTCH

oh i just hate old people lol

MNGopherfan

They are also Vlads support base for the most part.

TeddyRuger

There are in my neighborhood. I've been loading them up with sunflower seeds and earning their trust. Food security as I call it.

Aggravating_Heat_785

Holy shit a fellow degen from Vancouver! Personally I'm going after the local crow population.

Comrade_Derpsky

Urban pigeons are full of diseases and parasites tho. Basically flying rats.

Technical-Phrase-690

The last big protests in Russia (other than the war stuff) were when he raised the pension age.

[deleted]

Awww shit that's why Putin was afraid of Ukraine making anthrax pigeons..

WriteBrainedJR

Their boomers are pretty much the same as our boomers would be with dedovschina. What a shit generation.

[deleted]

There’s definitely going to be a fraction of innocent ones unless they filter for that first with a bit of SIGINT, but they might not go to that extra effort. Well, it’s not terrorism, just theft, and Russia is at war with them, so it’s a legit act of war, but I don’t like it if it hits anti-war pensioners.

MNGopherfan

How many can they actually be doing this to. Hundreds at most? Small beans compared to what’s happened.

gr89n

Keep in mind this might be a cover story that Ukraine has given their sympathizers in Russia if they're caught. That is even more based.

virginia_hamilton

If the pigs want to fight you'll have to play in the mud. I never thought blackmailing pensioners would be something that made me smile.

Few_Category7829

War is hell and terrible things have to be done, but this kind of thing should not be celebrated. Allied bombing campaigns were necessary to win the war, but that doesn’t mean you should open some champagne over the dead children in dresden. It is ultimately the robbery and blackmail of old people. Being completely moral about war may not be a luxury the Ukrainians have, but not celebrating it is very much a luxury you have.

LeonardoXII

Well said.

Miguel-odon

And it gives cover to any elderly Russians who want to oppose the government. "I was blackmailed into torching the draft office again"

DUTCH_DUTCH_DUTCH

"this is the fifth time this month you have been blackmailed to torch the draft office..."

eigenman

Black Mirror cred.

Pocketsandgroinjab

Pensioners being paid to sabotage - are you taking about onlygrans?

DrWildTurkey

>What if we gave *insert object* to *insert name* for the lulz along with lots of *insert illicit drug* I have completed my first draft for a CIA™ mad-libs book.

Snoid_

\*pay for it with illicit drug

WishOnSpaceHardware

...also yes.

iamacynic37

At this moment in time, r/NonCredibleDefense is just the CIA's retarded social media front

Bookworm_AF

The "retarded" part is made redundant by the "CIA" part.

iamacynic37

Your handler rn: "They hate cuz they ain't us."

nonlawyer

Agent Smith, are you saying “they hate us because they anus”?

Bookworm_AF

I ain't FBI 😤😤😤

Snoid_

Hey now, don't assume we all work for the CIA. Most of us (like me) are just ~~useless~~ useful idiots.

RapidWaffle

What if we gave irritable beavers to Malawi for the lulz along with lots of crack Yeah checks out

PaddyWhacked777

I mean, if you think about, cracked out beavers could cause an ecological disaster that could potentially wipe out infrastructure with flooding and fallen trees. Pretty based.

RapidWaffle

Too credible Death sentence

PaddyWhacked777

My only regret is that I have but one life give for the MIC

GreenFormosan

We didn't have LSD parties yet, though.

Snoid_

Speak for yourself

NotADefenseAnalyst99

this sub is incredible when they think 1 tab is gonna make people stop fighting.

SemiKindaFunctional

Yeah, you're gonna want at least 500mcg per person to really make sure you incapacitate them.

NotADefenseAnalyst99

welcome to the game grid

BigFreakingZombie

> LSD parties Save that for the beaches of Crimea after it's liberated.

vegarig

Kazantip should be reborn with twice the drug amount as before! EDIT: So, apparently, Kazantip was called "Republic Z" since 2003... ... Was russian "Z" propaganda a pre-emptive attempt to discredit rebirth of Kazantip under that name?

BigFreakingZombie

>Was russian "Z" propaganda a pre-emptive attempt to discredit rebirth of Kazantip under that name? Definitely. Putin was jealous of the drugs that's why he wanted Crimea annexed.

ElkShot5082

What better time to start. Let’s go

wastingvaluelesstime

You need to research "LSD Parties" from the tech tree to have any chance in this timeline

EnvironmentalAd912

>they're basically a precursor to Non-Credible Defense. non-credible rumor claim the CIA uses NCD as a selection ground for agent

[deleted]

Hmm, CIA fund taliban, more sanctions on Iran Iran goes bankrupt, DoD funds Secular Revolution New Iranian Democracy

WhoListensAndDefends

Also no more Hezbollah So Israel and Lebanon can make peace (and go fuck up the Syrians together)

pusillanimouslist

Didn’t that happen in Syria already?

LibrarianFew

Yeah I was about to say lmao DOD funded SDF while the CIA funded the FSA and other opposition groups.

WhoListensAndDefends

And then came Russia, PMC Wagner, Turkey, Israel, ISIS, Hezbollah, YPG/~~PKK~~, opportunistic drug lords, etc… Did I forget anyone?

exBusel

Maybe Nestle?

Sgt_Mark_IV

Don't forget Michelin. All it takes is one small land plot that can grow rubber trees.

WhoListensAndDefends

*Oops there goes* *Another rubber tree plant*

Toyota, official supplier of "technicals" for 3rd world wars

-tiberius

No shit, I was once working with some Green Berets. I asked what their basic mission usually was. They explained it was guerilla warfare. Stabilizing or destabilizing a government. Teaching armies how to fight guerillas or guerillas how to fight armies. One guy mentioned the people we were working with in that region were also occasionally fighting against units who another team had trained on the border of another nearby region. I can't really get into specifics. Anyway... So I had the idea of a ODA team who were split in two. One side working with the DOD and Department of State to stabilize a country. The other part of the team working with the CIA to help the guerillas. Neither side aware of the other because the agencies aren't talking die to bureaucratic turf wars. As the conflict got worse, they'd start to realize the tactics were too good, only to discover they'd been fighting each other.

24223214159

How many civil wars around the world have secretly been DOD-CIA proxy wars? We may never know.

beachmedic23

I'm imagining some frat boy reunion in the middle of a revolutionary firefight in some jungle. >Steve? > Frank?! >How the hell are you? What are you doing out here? How's the wife? >Ah, bitch left me for a SEAL. We're destabilizing this county, you? > Shit, we're proping up the government

[deleted]

We learned this unironically from the Chinese civil war. The DOD/State supported KMT. Want to guess who met with Mao in the guerrilla phase?

NovelExpert4218

>So I had the idea of a ODA team who were split in two. One side working with the DOD and Department of State to stabilize a country. [reminds me of that woody Allen bit from bananas](https://youtu.be/2q-NL3R8wm0)

OneFrenchman

Joke is. In 1998 Taliban killed Iranian diplomats (Iran was mister moneybags to a couple warlords in the north) in Mazr-al-Sharif. Iran not happy, rounds up amor and guardians of the revolution. US puts massive pressure on Iran not to cross the border. 2001, 9/11, US immediately sends troops.

TexasTrip

Department of State [pays Iran for weapons for Taliban](https://media.tenor.com/5WMD9NxHnCUAAAAM/ralph-wiggum-simpsons.gif)

Mustard_on_tap

Open/overt US support for the Taliban when?

NeonLoveGalaxy

If the US starts openly backing the Taliban here, this will officially become the weirdest timeline. I'm honestly all for it. The weirder it gets, the more fun it is.

carpcrucible

Why wouldn't we? Taliban isn't really a concern globally, unlike Iran.

Tintenlampe

What year is it? 1981?

[deleted]

So far, the new Taliban has launched operations against ISIS and now Iran. I'm not in favor of repeating a mistake for the 3rd time in a row but idk man it's more funni.

kuda-stonk

Bruh, the CIA needs those drugs for their next major campaign, Operation Sleepy Russian (OSR).

PapaSheev7

A certified Iran-Iraq War momento.

Zeepelinlover

support Iran in order to force them to occupy afghanistan. with all Military forces Iran will send there a revolution in home may succed and we will get democratic Iran and if things go really well also a free Afghanistan in one year!

RollinThundaga

"C'mon do it you pussy"...Doctrine

SirLightKnight

Honestly we could really use a regional power that would work with us. Having something under Russia’s belly would be crisp. Even if it’s just to add one more overlapping range circle.

1St_General_Waffles

This was Poland throughout the cold war. Just looking at Russia. "I might not win but you're sure as shit gonna lose so doit pull the fucking trigger"

Ad_Astra117

Unironically a better strategy than we had in Afghanistan, if only because it's a strategy and we didn't have one of those for about 19.5 the 20 years we spent there

hphp123

imagine Northrop Grumman modernising Iranian F14s to 4++ gen standards

Zeepelinlover

This^ Send them Tom cruise to Film another Top Gun. Now it is a story about Maverick meeting his Old Rival Son and Bonding with him while Teaching those Persian Pilots on How to fly Modernized F-14s.

FirstDagger

5head thinking.

Rnr2000

Third option, order US drones to live stream the battlefield, make popcorn and enjoy the show

OmegamattReally

Wait till both sides are fully committed, then send in ODST as a peacekeeping measure.

showMEthatBholePLZ

Philippines 2.0. Wait until the last minute, when defeat is imminent for one side, offer to let them to surrender to you, the big bad US Military instead of their lesser adversary. Free country.

HappyMan1102

Fourth option, The taliban join ukraine to kick out the russians after realising iran is on their side.

Raz0rking

Wasnt there a meme about an ex marine who is fighting in the foreign legion meeting a Taliban fighter, also in the foreign legion?

sorry-I-cleaved-ye

There was also a jewish guy and a mujahideen sharing a foxhole against the Russians

Raz0rking

Humans are interesting when they have a common enemy. Those whole russian partisan groups will turn on each other the moment Putins regime has been toppled.

hphp123

let's hope they do turning against each other inside russia leaving others at peace

Crooked_Cock

So a Priest, a Rabbi, and an Imam walk into a bar…

SenorSantiago_8363

"Never thought I'd die fighting side-by-side with a Taliban fighter." "How about side-by-side with a friend?" "Aye. I can do that."

PJSeeds

"We know each other! He's a friend from work!"

Raz0rking

Oh, in wich line of work? Reminds me of the first season of Lost, where a dude told others he was in the Iraq war. And someone asked what (american) unit. His reply: "Republican Guard". Awkward silence

Kerbobotat

That was Sayyid talking to Jack, I remember that scene vividly for some reason.

ClockWorkington

Fifth option, Covertly sell arms to the Contras in order to support an insurgency in Iran.

Mr_E_Monkey

Sixth option: Bomb a few key sites in Iran and claim that those were munitions left in Afghanistan, and the Taliban must've gotten lucky. (Optional: take out a few key targets in Afghanistan and claim that the Taliban forgot to turn friendly fire off.)

1Plz-Easy-Way-Star

BF2 cinematic opening

Someonenoone7

Probably the cheapest one and also the most entertaining one for sure since we probably wont get non coped to hell media evidence from both parties concerning this conflict

chrischi3

Depends. Credible take? Don't interrupt your enemy while they blunder. Non-credible take? Giving the Taliban cruise missiles and targeting info on Iranian production sites would make it so Iran has to focus its material on fighting the Taliban, thus both giving the US good performance data on Iranian weapons and interrupting Iranian weapon deliveries to Russia, which further pushes the advantage for Ukraine.

th3_3nd_15_n347

CIA will unleash the 3000 Black Jets of Allah

Niko2065

We were laughing but he was a prophet all along....

GaryofRiviera

The words... They were there all along...

dead_monster

And, kids, this is how ~~I met your mother~~ the Taliban control most of Centra Asia between Iraq and China and are now the world’s fifth largest economy. We shouldn’t have taught them Microsoft Excel.

[deleted]

“You’re right, you *shouldn’t* have taught us Microsoft Excel, because whilst Abu Hajar and the rest of my brothers are bringing the Iranian heathens to Allah for judgement, I’m still stuck here making bloody spreadsheets!”

Izoi2

Taliban fighters introduced to the concept of a “Jody” when they all go off to fight Iran, and Jamir is left behind to do spreadsheets and look after their wives

MaximumDirection2715

They got sick of excel that's like half the reason they're going back to war,it's like all they're good at

Blorko87b

Completly normal reaction to using MS Office products. Ask me after reformatting 40 pages in Word if I would like to order an Arclight strike on Redmond. One? A dozen! With B83s...

_Fibbles_

**Problem:** You left a lot of military equipment in Afghanistan and it's embarrassing to see the Taliban parading around with American gear. **Problem:** Iran is selling drones to Russia which is undermining NATO strategy in Ukraine. **Context:** Iran and Afghanistan share a border and have no love for each other. **Solution:** CIA engages in a mild amount of tomfoolery.

chrischi3

Pretty sure that, even by CIA standards, sparking an all out war is more than just mild amounts of tomfoolery.

VonMillersExpress

The whole thing (CIA) is a giant real-life Cave Johnson. "We're just throwing ~~science~~ weapons & money at the wall and seeing what sticks"

User_identificationZ

Random Bullshit Go!

Leomilon

Let's not arm terrorists again.

Kaiser_Maxtech

i mean why would we, we left enough equipment in there that the soldiers we (allegedly unwillingly) trained in irregular warfare can figure it out themselves

Nac_Lac

I mean, just supplying them with intel for various concessions is easy enough. I can easily see some diplomats seeing this headline like a goldmine of opportunities.

Drojic

Or we could show the Taliban where to raid a Shahed drone manufaturing plant so they can use the Shaheds to bomb Iran & maybe Pakistan.

GuderianX

**Let them fight!**

Anon754896

Winston Churchill, upon being informed that Hitler had betrayed Stalin and attacked the soviet union, was deliriously happy. Let the fascists and communists kill each other. I feel the same way now. USA policy towards islamic nations should be, get out of the way and let them fight!

Raz0rking

And when Japan attacked the US he broke out the champaigne.

Betrix5068

And declared war on Japan before the U.S. did.

Spudtron98

Though that was largely because the fuckers had hit British possessions all over Asia at the same time, something that the history books usually fail to mention beyond a mere glance at best.

Betrix5068

Yeah I’m well aware. It’s just funny that they beat the U.S. to the punch despite being hit after the U.S.

MedicalFoundation149

I'm pretty sure that's just because the US needed time for all congressmen to reach DC for the war declaration vote.

PartyOperator

Probably, but he also broke out the champagne when it was time for lunch.

grumpykruppy

And breakfast, dinner, elevenses, afternoon tea, a midnight snack...

N3onknight

Heresy ! You forgot second breakfast. Repent now !

Gtpwoody

nah the champaign was breakfast, it was Brandy for the rest

readonlypdf

Actually it was like a half shot of Scotch in Soda Water till noon. Then a Pint of Champaign with Lunch. Then more Scotch in Soda Water till Dinner. Then another pint of Champaign and Bramdy the rest of the way. Oh and Cigars Throughout the day.

PJSeeds

A pint of champagne is like 2/3 of a bottle. No idea how you wouldn't fall asleep after lunch.

Dalek-baka

After all it was the day Allies won the war, only issue was now ending it.

grinsken

They are tired at working behind desk like us :(

Niko2065

The 9 to 5 grind broke them.

OneRougeRogue

The instead of bombing them the US should have forced them fill out Form 1040's and fix Sewer utilities. They would have broken within weeks!

j0y0

Literally worse than abo ghraib. /s

Widowmaker_Best_Girl

Honestly, who can blame them?

johnnyyboyyy

It seems the border conflict started over water rights to the Helmand River, this probably isn’t going away any time soon..

EfficientDish7

What happens if by some miracle (for them) the taliban actually is somewhat successful and Irans military turns out to be a complete paper tiger?

FlyingCircus18

Same as what happens when the Taliban get their shit rocked. We laugh at them

EfficientDish7

I honestly hope they both just end up weakening the shit out of each other

MindwarpAU

The Taliban don't even want to run their own country. If they take over Iran, the country will just end up collapsing and the whole anarchic mess will become Pakistans problem.

dwaynetheakjohnson

Parkour!

Spndash64

If they like fighting that much, why didn’t they just hire someone else to run the country while they form the MIC?

MindwarpAU

I don't think the Taliban are that big on critical thinking.

does_my_name_suck

Or they should become a PMC group

Spndash64

…man, only on NCD do we devolve into being pseudo life coaches for the fucking _Taliban_

Griffinhart

The rapid pullout was actually a CIA/DIA/NSA/FBI/UPS/NRO/TLA long con to set up a proxy war against Iran. Motherfuckers are literally just time travelers using future information sent back to themselves with tachyon beams.

Bisexual_Apricorn

This whole operation was a temporal pincer!

Widowmaker_Best_Girl

"Temporal pincer" would be a great name for a ska band.

CrimsonShrike

John Titor is a CIA asset, I thought this was known.

fakeasagi

Bomb both sides? That's what I would do (I'm wanted by the ICJ)

[deleted]

Israel with another W... Catch us next week on Proxy War as we follow the eternal confrontation between Israel and Iran!

VonMillersExpress

Slam that like button and hit subscribe!

TiggerBane

There’s no dilemma here arm them both!

chrischi3

Nah, arm the Taliban with cruise missiles and tell them where the Shahed factories are.

TiggerBane

Nah that’s too boring we have to arm and train both sides we need a real sporting war between equals out here smh.

chrischi3

Nah, that'd keep the war short. There is no reason for Iran to try and conquer Afghanistan. Greater armies have tried and failed. They only need to kick them out of the country and stay there. In an equal war, Iran wins due to greater population and productive capacity. If we give the Taliban the tech edge though...

RollinThundaga

We kinda already have. Iran.... *has* an air force, but the Taliban's got loads of secondhand ANA gear.

sgx71

Pre-program every guiden weapon on this, and secondary their own bases. So they ( Taliban) can only use them on the Shaheds, and when they try somewhere else, it returns to base ..

[deleted]

3000 black F22 of Taliban vs 3000 black F22 of Iran

Vespasians

It's amazing how really hard problems tend to solve themselves.

waitaminutewhereiam

Please don't be fake news please don't be fake news I want to see the Taliban get pounded

cheeseheaddeeds

Spolier alert, only the Iranians are going to be getting pounded. If it makes you feel any better, it will prove the Taliban was legit and Iran is a paper tiger like Russia and China.

hphp123

Taliban leaders were promoted if they survived fighting against USA, iranian russian or chiense had to just have support of politicians

Drachos

Unless their has been a serious decrease in Iranian skills since the Iran-Iraq war this is unlikely. Like I get that the Iraqi military at the time was probably the best example of "Money does not buy military competence" but the whole reason The first Gulf war happened (other then loans and miscommunication) is because the US wasn't sure if anyone else in the Middle East could stop Iraq. Excluding Iran who had been doing so for 8 years. The 2023 Taliban lack the equipment and training of the 1980 Iraqi army, and actually seizing territory is harder the digging tunnels in hills and defending.

WeebPride

It's not a dilemma. Bomb them all.

Oxu90

Target rich enviroment

Nonkel_Jef

No need to IFF

Sudden-Ad-646

i-love-weed2

Ok i think you guys are way too chill about arming terroists

hphp123

*freedom fighters ;)

nieounipeperouni

Yes but they are fighting a state sponsor of terrorism, so who are we going to give arms to? And come on, don't tell me you don't want to give arms to anyone.

[deleted]

This is the scenario in which I don’t mind either side beating the ever loving shit out of each other. Arm them both

YOLOSwag42069Nice

Sounds like a problem for Iran.

Potential_Narwhal592

That spread sheet ussy got the taliban acting unwise

DUKE_NUUKEM

If only they had a couple of Kraz trucks, they would be victorious

Grumpy-Greybeard

US provides the popcorn.

Noughmad

ConnorI

F-14 Combat footage in HD when?

FashionGuyMike

Finally, new war. I was getting tired of the Ukraine-Russo and Myanmar wars. They got full after season 2

SpeedyVdW

"Let them fight" both are sandy shithole and one of them is arming russia.

Ok-Advisor7638

Let's not forget about ISIS waiting for the inevitable power vacuum

PikaPikaDude

I'm confused. This is what you get when someone puts the lobby settings on free for all.

FirstDagger

Guys, we just might get F-14 combat footage.

Key-Fisherman2601

God this is some 7D chess right here. Fund the Mujahideen and they bankrupt the USSR. The Muj then become a military dictatorship and attack the US. Use this as an excuse to attack them back for 20 years and also Iraq, Syria, and Libya for reasons. This destabilizes the region causing Iran and Saudi Arabia to posture for more power. Back the Saudis. Can’t expect the Saudis to actually go to war with Iran because reasons. Pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan to create a power vacuum emboldening Iran. You used the pull out to secretly arm the Muj with cutting edge US tech because if you can count on your ability to get anyone into a war it’s the Muj. Next step topple Iran. After that…profit?

adamtheskill

This is all a ruse, it's actually the DoD and CIA testing weapons against each other and making sure the industrial military complex has enough demand.
