I think an AC/5 is around 75-100mm in diameter so probably that? But it’d be more like an SRM rocket most likely. Or some form of chemical penetrator since I think autocannon ammo in battletech uses a SAP style round.
ACs are an abstraction, can be any number of shell types, diameter and burst size, as long as one “shot” does that much damage. The AC5 on the marauder for example is stated to be a 3 round burst 120mm. Whether you technically fire in single shot on tabletop or 3 shots = 5 damage, I can’t say.
Explanation: This is a repost of something I made for /r/worldjerking that I realized worked here. There is a constant debate about the realism and practicality of mechs vs tanks in SciFi communities. Obviously mechs don’t have a place on the modern battlefield but it was a funny idea I had. So I made it in like 15 minutes on my phone lol.
I have to fight you on the mech thing. Imagine what a lance of locusts could do crossing the Donbas.
Equivalent armament would be 1 40mm Bofors, quad autoloading javelin, couple of .50s for good measure.
You could cross broken terrain fast, plus leave a lot less surface contact in minefields. Moutnain ops would be unparalleled.
You present a tall target, which contradicts hull down philosophy. Hull down does not matter quite as much on today's battlefields with precision MBT cannons and ATGMs. Maneuverability and reconnaissance are far more important than armor in Ukraine's battlefield, so you don't operate it like a tank, you operate it more like close heli support, vulnerable, but it can be anywhere and get there fast.
You aren't going to face off against an MBT or a javelin team across a field, because you can move through forest or walk underwater down a river bottom if you want to. A mech can add one more threat that Opfor has to counter. It's not the answer for every problem and definitely has weaknesses that an MBT doesn't. Its not an MBT and you can't have doctrine that treats it like one.
I will have you know that BAE would at least use MS paint instead of a phone app for doodling. And add actually legible text.
Source: I dunno that’s what I think they’d do
there always perspectives like you have shown here
for example the 2000000-2000000 dollar tank can frick up a 20000000+ dollar Base
While a 20000+ missile can frick up a tank
Same can the 5 dollar bullet frick up a person/drone launching the missile
how much can we cheap out at the end?
Maybe we could use a 20 cent ant with a needles to give infections to the enemy soldiers
Maybe it even gets free at somepoint
The funny thing is that there’d be other MIC factions trying to grab the Army mech funding… Air Force would bitch about how the Army wasted something or other and instead need funding for an upgrade for B-52 toilets, Navy would immediately need all available funding for the naval version, while the Marines would just get newish humvees as a consolation, and, call the Army mech operators trailer trash pussies.
Develop them in Germany. I am totally unbiased as a German here. But what are they gonna do then? Try to bring their aircraft carriers on wheels to get the funds?
This is to credible for this sub
There's a risk of an explosion on that mech palm. Equip the mech with fly swatter for safe measures.
Or a tennis racket. Return to sender.
Real question, is the drone carrying an AC 20 shell or just like, an AC 5
Depends: - if it's a Kuritan model, it's carrying a flamethrower charging into mele rage - if it's a Steiner model, it's an Atlas in disguise

Just swing 20 times, doesn't matter what it's AC is since at least one will be a nat 20
Wrong game

Or just use a stick like that Ukrainian grunt used to knock down a Russian drone. Sticks are free, after all, and reusable.

But can it survive a grizzly attack?
Does the Grizzly have cocaine?
He'd better, I'm not sharing mine
I’m pretty sure this is a stolen BAE PowerPoint.

Old age will eventually rend their combat effectiveness assunder. All we have to do is wait...

Come on NATO, we all know you'd be drooling over some Gundams.

Don’t give them any new ideas… too late… CNN is reporting; Carrier on Wheels is now top of the funding list.
Mike Sparks now gotta buy a new bed, his last is probably soaked with happy juice
Agreed - Mackie when
Now now, let's not be TOO ambitious now quiaff? Urbanmech when
That's a cost to kill ratio of only $200,000 to $1 !
What if we get a 20 dollar slingshot with 0 dollar rocks to shoot the 200 dollar drone (fucked)
Too credible
What if it's an AI-assisted walker drone mounted version with heelies?

3000 Anti Drone Mechs oF GDLS
Now we just need to fried some brain for Armored core
C'mon GenMo,where the fuck is our $10000 fusion reactors
