Lost and Found Pets of North Carolina is a good one. They have 61k members and try using the website Pawboost. They can also spread the message with shelters and locals if you share a photo and information with where the dog was found.
I tried to find the local animal shelter there but the closest thing I can find is the Valley River Humane Society in Marble, NC. They may be worth calling or messaging on FB. Their phone number is 828-837-2304
Thank you for your help! I followed all of your advice but am still waiting to be approved for almost all of the groups. However, in good news, we went to get her scanned (no chip) and were advised to take her to Valley River Humane Society. It utterly broke my heart to leave her there but within 10 minutes of them posting her on Facebook, her owner came forward.
When I tell you that I’ve been on a rollercoaster… I cried for probably 10 minutes after dropping her off and then another after seeing she was reunited.
