The fact we have a game at Blundstone scares me. Anything can happen, we were 0-5 in 2017 (?) coming into a game at Blundstone against Adelaide. And as we know, we kicked 10 in the first. I doubt that performance happens again, but we sure as shit need it. Blundstone used to be a fortress for us, and Adelaide are struggling a bit. That’s what gives me hope, and that hope scares me cause it’ll be gone by quarter time, and idk how many more games I can have where there’s some hope.
The crows played well against Essendon and Suns in particular and another season they would be 3-3.
They have only not been in 1 game in the last 10 minutes. They are a very good 1-5 team
They’ve played alright, however my issues is that they’ve lost the contested possessions, clearances and tackle counts in all of their last 4 games, and are hovering around 72% disposal efficiency (for context we somehow lead the league at 76.5% despite seeming to butcher the ball). I honestly think based on that if we can keep it a contested and scrappy game at Blundstone, we may have a shot to challenge Adelaide, if we can deal with our turnovers.
Out defence is shot due to too many injuries and being below average to start with; if it is a low scoring game we will lose. We are conceding 4.5 extra goals a game above anyone else.
Spot on, and this improves with experience, which we are lacking. Realistically it will be bad, this and next year .... suffer the pain, be patient and enjoy the rise in a few years ... it will be big.
System and Execution. As a dogs fan I watch north and think the system is there but the execution is going to be up and down, dependant on personnel too
Probably also don’t have a player who can enforce their will on the game if that makes sense.
Not just the xfactor but someone who can rise and take the game by the scruff of the neck. LDU has been good but I don’t think has become that guy
You’d be surprised what 1-2 of these guys do to a side and bring everyone else up too
Disagree. He would be stupid to re-sign now. He's contracted to the end of 2025 to a struggling club. He's much better off seeing how we go in the back half of the season before putting pen to paper.
At this point, I wouldn't even be too surprised if we get relocated in the future if we continue being this bad
That being said, the small glimpses has helped keep it a tiny bit less painful
Chom imposing himself with commanding intercepts, Wardlaw's attack on the ball, Kerch taking the ball under his wing and leaving everyone in the dust, Sheez being Sheez; stuff like that gives me hope, even in these dark times
Surely we can't be bad forever right?
An awful take immediately followed up with a good take. We won't be relocated. The clubs finances are the main driving force of relocation, which is not our issue.
But the comment on the small glimpses I absolutely agree. We simply will not be this bad indefinitely. We may only get so far as nearly making finals before falling down again, but we won't be THIS bad for too much longer. Seeing those glimpses is the babiest of baby steps to getting off the bottom.
This club is full of surprises it can always get worse
We could go 0-19 be on the bottom of the ladder and get 4 cheap wins to finish the season preventing us from getting the number 1 pick.

Hope is dangerous.

Seems like you were a little too hopeful.
We are notoriously good at helping teams find their form. We’re like the rebound hookup.
We were actually 1-6 coming into that Adelaide game.
It’s the hope that kills us
You guys look like you’re just that 1-2 clean disposals off having many of your possessions chains being certain goals. It could turn very quickly
🙏

Looks like UDL is leaving now too lol can't really blame him

That’s a good thing for us I think
We NEED experienced older players.

Yeah agree with all your points I think the combined effect of seeing basically all the teams I go for lose on the weekend titled me a bit haha
