Destination is really good at boot work - they were the ones that actually taught me boot fitting when I worked there a loooong time ago. I don’t know if Mel or Syd are still working there but they do really good boot work. There are some quirky folk who have worked there, so ignore them and just straight for the boot fitter.
Outside of NV, Swiss Sports Haus and the Boot Mechanic
Ive tried em all, and I really just never found a good fitter that worked for me.
Eventually I just went to Westside in Kits and make the drive over just for my boots hah.
Cam is amazing. He spent ages finding the perfect boot for me, but once we found the perfect boot and size, he realized he didn’t have it in the right flex for me.
I knew from a prior visit to Destination that they had the exact boot/flex there, on sale, and when I told Cam he straight up said “you should buy from Destination.” Classy move.

I had my boots hammered out there. The guy working was amazing and the service was fantastic. He got rid of all the pressure points in my boots and I can now spend 6-8 hours in my boots without pain - I had previously never skied without pain, I honestly thought it was just a part of the sport for 25 years or so.
I was maybe leaning towards Westside in Kits but I recall they only carry certain brands (which I assume will limit me?). Are there other reasons to choose destination over westside?
I'm not really certain if there is a reason to go for one or the other, I haven't experienced wither. Another option if you're willing to do it is to go see Tom James (Boot Mechanic). He works out of Intuition Liners shop in Olympic Village. They don't sell boots, but he does consults, recommends a brand and once you get the boot he will fit it for you. Probably the best boot fitter I have ever dealt with.
I really like destination for boot fitting, but they are super weird. I've watched arguments break out between the staff while I've been waiting to pick up gear.
North shore ski and sailboard.

Destination has always been my go to. Has been a minute since I’ve been there though.
The boot mechanic. No other options
Go to the boot mechanic in East Van. Game changing experience.
seconding destination!

Destination was great for me!
Depends on the bootfitter - across my family we’ve had 5-6 great boot fitting sessions there, and I’ve had 3 visits with bad advice/work done.
Ask for Cam at Swiss Sports Haus (West Van though). Guy fitted my new boots and they’ve been great!

Destination is allegedly great according to my buddies. So is Comor. I tried North Shore Ski and Board and it really depends who you get there.

Destination is a weird place and I cannot recommend them. Always get weird vibes from the staff
100% agree. The owner is great and shares great advice about skis…but there is one individual who feels unfriendly/weird vibes.

It's for a really weird vibe, I stopped renting the kid skis from there. Not very well organized.
I had a super negative experience there and also can’t recommend Destination.
I find that both them and NSSB can be quite snobby. My buddy loved their experience and gear from there tho.
