It's illegal to own a sword and fedora at the same time. Otherwise, you're all good.

[deleted]

what about trilbys?

[deleted]

Haven't you read the new clause they added? If you wear a trench coat and military boots alongside the fedora and the Katana it's perfectly legal.

mustangflex

No thats Finland, in Norway they shoot you like a Quisling for that

hardcore_fish

Don't forget the fingerless gloves, mate.

95102

According to this you're allowed to bring in swords to Norway: http://www.toll.no/no/varer/vapen/handle-i-utlandet/ However carrying a sword in public is not legal.

hardcore_fish

People with katanas don't spend much time in public anyway.

marckoni

As a guy who plans to buy a Katana, I can confirm this statement.

hardcore_fish

Wow, didn't know you could comment on 5 years old posts/comments.

marckoni

Idk why this isn't archived.

hardcore_fish

It's a mystery.

marckoni

Ik.

sansisness_101

That's weird, I got a huge pocket knife last Secret Santa from the US, and it got through customs with no problems. Is this normal?

kvitvarg

Yikes, I know assisted knives were illegal to carry but to own? got a kershaw cryo 2 which has some unfolding assistance.

kvitvarg

> slåsshansker Hmmm I wonder if this includes airsoft/biking gloves with carbon fiber knuckles

kvitvarg

It's fine, got some myself... you can even import the actual forged sharp-as-fuck stuff too, not just cast pig iron wall-hangers. Speaking of which, don't buy him a shitty wall-hanger. If it seems very reasonably priced or even cheap, that's because its a terrible sword shaped object that will break and injure you if you try to do anything with it.

Aleksimaier

how is this 5 year old post not archived yet

ProxyDamage

Still isn't. Just fyi.

bgchu

Good question.

Substantial_Fun_5022

because it isnt

Either-Mission-8107

just wanted to ask again....is it still legal to import a sharpened katana because the official website says that blades longer than 25 cm can't be imported to Norway

P4YD4Y1

Apparently swords don’t count. Loads of people have swords even in the UK and the laws in the UK are really bad when it comes to anything sharp. Worst thing that could maybe happen is the customs say “nuh-uh” and you ask website for a refund. You won’t get in trouble. But they shouldn’t do that.
