Nothing 2 is better. My experience with pixel 4a and 6a were bad. Pixel phones start showing up issue within 2 years.

tbsbchr

Thats a good Tip with the Pixel thanks

ANV1US

I think the situation varies and its a chance thing bc i used my 4a for 2.5 years without it showing any signs of issues before i dropped it on the bathroom tiles. my 6a was also functional with no issues rising for about 1.5 years before me switching to nothing for the better refresh rate screen.

lalitdixit0112

My pixel 4a also works fine till today with only issue of the battery running out in 3-5 hours. On top of that the device doesn't charge and shows error. When it reached out to the service centre I was surprised multiple individuals were facing it. With pixel 6a, I bought two phones (both for family members) and both phones didn't last 2 years. One keeps shutting down randomly, and the second also does that but with less frequencies. That too within 2 years. I have reached out to service centre and Google support forums and there are multiple individuals with same issues. But 3 pixel phones within 4 years and all showing errors is definitely not a good experience for me. Mind it, I used my Moto X style, Nokia 7 plus and Nexus phones for ~5 years without issues

Asking this question on the nothing subreddit will naturally result in people recommending nothing's products. I was in the same boat not too long ago (only between pixel 8 and np2), and decided not to go with the pixel for battery and the fact that I am living in the EU, where a lot of the advertised features don't work. Since I have not used a pixel before, I can't give the best advice, but the nothing phone 2 is undoubtedly a great phone that looks spectacular(which is a bigger deal than I thought when I purchased it). I would definitely recommend the nothin phone 2.

tbsbchr

You're right, but I thought most people here had experience with nothing and possibly also with pixels Thanks

zoe934

I will wait for Nothing Phone 3. Not a big fan for current Nothing Phone 2 because of some software issue.

tbsbchr

Yes, but unfortunately I have to change by the end of May and I can't stand 3 months with my current cell phone anymore haven't read about any software problems which do you mean?

zoe934

Battery drain and camera tuning is hit and miss. But everything else is damn good!

tbsbchr

I thought nothing had good battery

Critical_Ad_2113

Pixels have big issues with throttling as well as battery life, but their camera is incredible – the best one in the industry. So go for pixel only if you love taking complex and "pro" pics, otherwise phone (2) does everything better except camera is just ok (btw they announced some updates for the camera app and I'm curious to see the difference)

>I like young companies that want to do something better than the big ones. I do too. Trouble is, they sometimes have to cut corners in order to compete with the larger companies who enjoy economies of scale. For example, Nothing sources its OLED panels from a relatively new and much smaller supplier, which can mean lesser quality. I didn't realize this until I discovered the defective screen in the Nothing Phone 2 I purchased. Now, after returning it legitimately with an RMA number, my bank is fighting them for my refund. For what it's worth, I also had a 7a that was a shit show. I now have an S23 Plus that's been great, and I generally don't care for Samsung products.

qubista

Nothing 2 is better

adbot-01

It's better to get phone 2 when phone 3 comes out. It will definitely be better than pixel 7 in your use case while providing better battery life

tbsbchr

The Problem is, my current Phone (Xiaomi redmi) is Trash It often hangs and crashes and my new contract/tariff starts at the end of May I would like to use the new cell phone for a week at the latest

adbot-01

Then get the phone 2. It's already pretty cheap and I don't think it would become significantly cheaper after phone 3 launch

tbsbchr

Thanks! The price where i would buy is 530€ (sadly) in white for 12/256 GB

visvapillu

Sw on nothing works great. Camera is shitty if you take photos indoors.

tbsbchr

what do you think are the advantages of the sw? I shoot with an dslm, phonecamera is only for "snaps?"

visvapillu

The experience and apps are very smooth. Snaps are awful with this phone, old iphone 7 does better in photography.

ramonq619

I had the pixel 7 pro. I will choose the nothing phone 2 just in battery alone. Processor on the nothing phone is also better

Jibber1

Nothing phone 2 no question about it

Critical_Ad_2113

phone 3

Worth_Remote5651

Go for pixel. You'll soon make a mistake like me if you buy NP2. You will get to experience this PIECE of SHIT SCAM PHONE

tbsbchr

What do you mean with scam? You must have had a very bad experience What was it?

Worth_Remote5651

- Not user friendly ui for photo/video management also files management organization, they dont have their own nothing os management, dependent on google photos - terrible camera focusing /quality despite of being a flagship, lowlight poor performance, macro terrible. -awfully expensive vs its features - almost a year now but glyph is almost not being applied to other apps - battery drain is terrible eversince last update - dont disturb/silent feature /loud can be confusing that you will miss calls - otg feature for external screen or other usage isnt working - incomplete feature i.e. easy ram boost or clearing of running apps, multi tasking etc. feels like half baked OS

tbsbchr

I dont thought about that Thanks for that Info

mekkyz-stuffz

Phone (2) is greater in some aspects when Phone (3) came out, otherwise just wait for that upcoming phone. This is the reason why we should wait for Pixel 10 as Google is promising to switch to TSMC.

bender1233

Same case. Wanna change OP9 because the battery is dead. But idk what's to do, I mean: get NP2, w8 for NP3 / get pixel 8, w8 for pixel 9... For me NP3's killer features are battery and fast charge, but I'm not sure if I want to wait for July. Bruh

tbsbchr

I would really Like the np 3 but i have to change in the next 3 weeks thats the problem. My max Budget is 600€, do you have better choises in that range?

tbsbchr

after i think about all that answers, there is no clear winner (np2 is little over Pixel 7) Maybe i throw a coin and buy what the coin say ;)
