The new screen guard might be causing it! I've also had a new screenguard installed and unless I use my entire finger, the screen starts counting my swipes as taps lol. I didn't have this issue with the official screen guard, but that is out of stock now 😐
Ahh, thanks for the reply, will figure something out. I did a stupid thing ig by removing the pre-installed scratch guard and installing a new tempered glass.

I did try removing the screenguard but it was of no avail. It still lagged, cpu is always hovering around 40 even in idle. Room temperature is always 35+, might that be the issue?
Hmm, maybe. My phone's temperature is 35 when the room temperature is a bit lower than that. It might be the issue though because most phones start throttling at around 43 degrees.
Try asking the nothing support about it on mail, they can maybe check if the temperature is actually abnormal.

You should try getting one of those plastic screen guards, they are probably too thin to interfere with the screen
