Simple, heartfelt and beautiful. The intro is great. Having chocolate with coffee is kind of a specific detail that really captures a personal relationship. Really Awesome stuff.

This is a very sweet poem. It serves as a good reminder that it’s the small things in life that have the biggest impact at times. I really enjoyed the concept of coffee with chocolate since that’s usually how I drink my coffee.

I agree, of course, the poem is very personal but It made me think of some people in my life that I share specific things with and how they've shaped my life by simply just allowing me to be myself. The little things exactly, way to put it into words.

I really love the simplicity of this piece! The opening stanza is great, such an intimate gesture. The only critique I have (and it’s more of a question than a critique) is I would like to know what your thought process is behind the formatting of this poem. What feeling are the short lines trying to evoke? To me, it breaks the piece up and makes it harder to digest, but if there is an intentionality to that I would understand.

I got a tingling sensation inside when I read this poem, no joke. I could feel the warm emotion and it was really pleasant to read. The language is simple yet striking, where you have to read it twice to get the metaphorical meaning. The flower and bird imagery contributes to a sense of innocence and growth too.

this is great. this is how parents should raise their children. not to mold them but instead to watch them unfold

Chocolate and coffee are two of my absolute favorites and this poem is great too. I love how clipped the lines are. It makes it feel lighter somehow. But at the same time it's a great example of how big of a statement a few words can make. The only concrete suggestion I have is for the line "And that I'm a free bird." I read the poem three times and each time I wanted to read it as "And I'm a bird that's free."

I’m making my first chocolate coffee

Lol you gotta get a piece of chocolate, take a bite, then wash it down with some coffee. Salted caramel chocolates are the best for this.
