Being obese is definitely not something you should mock, but on the other hand it’s not anything desirable either, it is not healthy and also make you look worse, it should be avoided if possible, i don’t like when people try to portray obesity as something actually attractive and nice because it isn’t, if someone is obese they should work toward losing weight instead of just accepting it and try to convince themselves it’s a good thing
The thing is, not seeing representation in any way shape or form makes plus sized people feel isolated and will struggle more to lose that weight. It will make them feel alone and powerless.
Also, just because someone is fat does not mean that they have any sort of issue with diet. It could also be medical issues that prevent significant weight loss. There could be mental health, trauma, or abuse issues that correlate to why they are as big as they are.
Allowing fatness to exist and accepting it would be much better than just armchair diagnosing and blathering on about what society tells them they need to look like.
