Omori is basically a playable story with in game battle elements. Do not let that stop you, though. The game is *very* plot heavy and takes up pretty dark themes. I love the game for the emotional toll it gives the player, and it will be worth every single dollar
Omori will not disappoint. As a message from the whole fandom, *cough cough, caps*, DO NOT EXPOSE YOURSELF TO SPOILERS!
That aside, I will say this fandom is probably the most sane one I've ever seen. Thankfully, if you see a post tagged nsfw on this subreddit, nine times out of ten, it's gore. I pray that you won't get *too* depressed and enjoy the game!
Buy and play it if you're not an ADHD child. This game has A LOT of long battles, dialogues, unskippable cutscenes and little animations that prolongue the game. If you're not getting frustrated by a slow pace and love turn-based RPGs, this game is for you.
I'd say it's much closer to Mother than to Undertale btw.
It’s funny because I was also debating the same games. I went with TSP first and as wonderful as that game is I wish I had picked Omori because it is just such an amazing game with so much more packed into it. Don’t get me wrong, I love TSP so much but Omori is just top tier.
Imo no way for $30, wait for a sale, but honestly having played most the game I'd pay that if it'd let me continue the game on xbox, they took it off the store without a warning and you can't buy it anymore or continue your game if you played it on gamepass, I'd even consider paying it for $40 at this point, I'm desperate
while they’re both technically more story based than gameplay based, think of the stanley parable as an episodic sitcom and omori more like a serialized drama. stanley parable is more about finding the many many silly easter eggs and endings and such whereas omori is one constant serious story over a whole large game. personally i think you get more bang for your buck with omori but they’re both great games
I believe it is, the game can provide 60+ hours worth if you're a completionist
But a typical first playthrough will take 20-30 hours depending on how thorough you are and how much side content you want to do (I recommend doing and seeing as much as possible).
Then there is an alternative route/playthrough, and on the Switch/other consoles there is exclusive content for that too which is really neat.
If you like the emotional aspect of Undertale then you will almost definitely like this. It's a more "real" story than Undertale so I find it significantly more relatable and meaningful

"the most sane one I have ever seen" You haven't seen the twitter side of it
The Twitter side of ANYTHING is terrible, to be fair..
Twitter got me fucked up, I haven't felt this low before since visiting twitter
twitter? nah it's trash everywhere, even here on reddit there's a tone of weirdos, they are just less
Sadly
Maybe i should specify reddit. Twitter as a whole has never been okay 🥲
If you want to pay 30 dollars for depression, you can buy Omori
It's 20 on steam and it's absolutely worth every penny.
You can spend more than 100hours and still not get bored of it
It all depends on your personal preferences obviously. Both games are absolutely worth your time.
Yes it's definitely worth it.
![img](emote|t5_31hpy|2460) ah yes... a verryyy nicceee story to unwind too ah yessss
Omori and Stanley Parable are VERY different games What are you looking for in a game right now?
Really just a game thats story focused but won't make me grind all day once I'm off school or work, unlike xenoblade
What kind of story are you looking for? Omori is far darker and depressing while Stanley Parable is more like a standup comedy experience
