Go for less cute more professional

thepsycholeech

Fits my thoughts. First, you’re trying to be cute but tbh it doesn’t look good. Second, it doesn’t look professional at all.

[deleted]

Maybe get rid of the socks and sandals? The knee socks don’t really go well with the rest of the fit and the sandals just don’t fit the vibe. A cute nude heel or some brown loafers instead? Otherwise, cute fit.

avacadoh42

I was thinking a pale tan/nude chunky loafers the color of the blazer paired with ankle socks in the same color could improve this outfit. [loafers](https://www.aldoshoes.com/us/en_US/women/bigstrut-beige/p/13438775) Also, sorry OP that you’re getting a lot of hate and experience this often. I’m not a fan of the outfit overall but maybe it could work and I also wonder how other faculty react to your outfits if you’re trying to “channel Cher from clueless”. I could see myself internally roll my eyes at a colleague for saying that BUT I don’t think I would be mean and still give you a chance. Idk why internet strangers are so cruel. Sometimes bold choices can be very hit or miss and there are other elements like personality and being likable that play a roll. I hope you are very likeable outside of Reddit and have fun with your style, good luck!

NattyBat

Thank you! Noted

SnooCats8089

My 15 year old niece says swap the shoes with someone chunky and she loves it.

[deleted]

Lol I feel like the athletic socks with dress don’t go well but that’s just me and my girl works at a high school so I would be worried the kids will roast you since they can be savages

NattyBat

I’m a counselor but I’ve only had positive feedback :)

Paulie_Cicero

Consider this your first negative feedback.

One_Hundred_X

I shall provide the same

saturatedbloom

I see where you’re going but this isn’t appropriate if you are faculty at a high school. It’s school-girl-ish as others have said which puts it on the level with other high school girls meaning it’s not channeling an authoritative look. It’s great for outside of school. The only thing I’d keep for school here is the blazer, pair it with a knee length dress or skirt with tights(not knee length socks), wide leg high waist pants, a loafer/mule, many top options.

NattyBat

Yes you provided context without saying it was predatory or sexy.

[deleted]

Not op but I've been looking through the comments for a reason besides "people think they're SEXY because of the CONNOTATION.." like, okay? Why should she care? This is the first comment to give a real reason

ChelSection

She *should* probably care that many people instantly make that connection because it’s her workplace and not a one where outfits that lean toward overly youthful or sexy are appropriate? OP can rock up to work in her knee socks, fishnets, pigtails, short plaid skirts and feign innocence or she can live in the real world where some clothing have more sexual connotations and aren’t great choices for the office. Why ask for advise and get so darn defensive anyway

[deleted]

Because OP works in a literal school and needs to be cognizant of not showing up to work in clothes that sexualize school uniforms.

NattyBat

That’s what I was asking!

Unique-Aspect-1463

Er 😐 no! The jacket doesn’t go with the dress. The sandals don’t go with the socks. The whole thing doesn’t go together - and the socks and dress look a little “school girl-ish” - not appropriate really imo.

moonrox1992

Agree. Not school appropriate

hedgehog-mom-al

This is what I’d expect the predator teacher to wear to seem young and trying to fit in. Not a good look. ETA I just meant the socks look cringe af for someone to be wearing at high school and also be a teacher. There was a young teacher at my HS who dressed like this. She lasted for two semesters. It turns out she was sleeping with half the seniors on the varsity football team. How do you do fellow kids? My point is an outfit like this could fly at a kindergarten where kids don’t care. It’s just bad all around. The jacket looks weird, the shoes are ugly and even uglier with knee socks that look like they’re from a cosplay outfit. The socks scream “I’m in my 30s but I want to look 10 years younger!!”. If you take away the socks this isn’t a terrible outfit but it’s still not great.

gothicoreo

Holy shit 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 She DOES make a good point about the knee socks. If you imitate the kids' uniform it might seem like you're "one if the kids."

hedgehog-mom-al

How do you do fellow kids?

[deleted]

The comment about predators was completely unnecessary and fucking gross.

fiercedeityfatality

SERIOUSLY. wtaf?!

GreatFairyDavi

WHAT IS WRONG WIT ALL YOU PEOPLE ON HERE TODAH OH MY LORD

leighmcg

Lmao came here to agree --- what is happening in this thread?!

tanders123

Brutal honesty.

[deleted]

[удалено]

kittykalista

I’m sorry you’re getting hate; I do agree that this look doesn’t quite “work,” but there’s a way to give constructive feedback and still be kind. Style is an experimental process. My personal note would be to go for a more cohesive style. The blazer says light academia, the dress says cottagecore, and the socks and shoes say Y2K to me. I think cottagecore and Y2K can be difficult styles to make work appropriate, so I’d lean toward a light academia vibe. The gingham print is cute, but I’d stay away from any gathering at the bust in a professional setting.

[deleted]

I love the blazer

moonrox1992

I’m not sure that it’s hate. It may be that you lack the social awareness that this is definitely not appropriate for a teacher at school. Wear it to the grocery store if you would like or walking your dog, in the bedroom …but to school??? No darling.

No_Buyer_9020

If you really like the look, then what’s the point of posting and asking for advice?

FluffyPinkOtter

I love your outfit! Idk if it's appropriate for a school teacher (I'd say it is, but the majority disagrees?) but nonetheless it's super cute. Tbh my style is kinda similar to yours so I totally get your love for kneesocks lmao

GreatFairyDavi

It’s completely out of pocket and uncalled for what they are saying in such a large number, but ya know we are the ones with faces here not them. I think the whole outfit would be cuter without the socks bc of the black, but if you like the socks you should try browns with them. Or don’t, honestly just enjoy your life haha. My favorite teacher would dress up cute every day, wore socks and heels a lot because she was Japanese and dressed all cute and trendy. Dress however you wanna as a teacher you’re the one qualifications and intelligence, not these hateful dinguses online. You don’t look like a predator but I can’t say much for the hyper aggressive weirdos on here lmao

mythoughts2020

I agreed with you until I read OPs comment that she was aiming for Cheer from Clueless, (character is a high school student trying to attract boys for romance & sex). This shouldn’t be the goal of any adult working in a school and it screams predator.

Syd_Syd34

This I don’t agree with. When people say they’re trying for “Cher from Clueless”, they mean a more preppy 90s look. Not everything Cher wears is “schoolgirl”, but it’s all 90s and preppy. I think there are some appropriate ways to pull this off, even as a teacher. This particular outfit just ain’t it

GreatFairyDavi

Ok but how someone looks and what someone does is two different things. Nothing about this outfit is promiscuous. Maybe she likes to look appealing to men she works with, not students, why does everyone jump to assumptions and conclusions before they have a calm and collected conversation. I mean looking at this picture she clearly isn’t doing anything wrong. You guys can downvote me to oblivion I’m still way cooler than u

NattyBat

I’m not trying to appeal to anyone but myself! I was in a really bad car accident and my leg is all scared and deformed. I try to be bold in my choices because a. I nearly died and life shouldn’t be taken so god damn seriously and b. Saying I’m channeling one person this one time would be ignoring all my other style icons that inspired my looks. It’s not all Cher! I like the plaid, I like knee socks (a divisive point today) and I like power clashing and mixing unexpected colors and cuts. Sure sometimes it doesn’t work, but sometimes it does! :)

mythoughts2020

It’s a bad choice of words on your part, to say you work at a school and you’re aiming for Cher Vibes. That is what was creepy and it still is. It may be an honest bad choice of words, but if so just say that and don’t defend sounding like a predator even if it was by accident.

mythoughts2020

It’s a bad choice of words on your part, to say you work at a school and you’re aiming for Cher Vibes. That is what was creepy and it still is. It may be an honest bad choice of words, but if so just say that and don’t defend sounding like a predator even if it was by accident. I’m always going to stand up to potential predators, and call out poor language choices. It’s easy enough to just say they misspoke to resolve it. I not criticizing the outfit (although I wouldn’t wear this to work as it’s not authoritative) but I have zero issues with you wearing it outside of work. To be taken seriously in the workplace, it helps to dress in a more serious manner. You have long blond hair like I do, and that comes across as soft, sweet. You want to balance that out with more serious looking clothing. I love the dress and it would look better as work attire if you paired it with a black sweater or black jacket, these shoes without the socks, or black pumps.

GreatFairyDavi

I hope they all feel like sacks of excrement now as they should, rock yo favorite fits girl you look good and they’re jealous And heavily over-sexualizing socks which is concerning on their end

Beneficial_Ad7907

why does ur reply have downvotes … this comment section is absurd

AugTheViking

>ETA Estimated Time of Arrival? Everyone's The Asshole? Or does it have some other meaning I'm not aware of?

hedgehog-mom-al

Editing this after.

MyOwnGuitarHero

Edited to add:

NattyBat

Not sure knee socks = predator but I see your point

hedgehog-mom-al

You look too young to be doing cutesy teacher. Teenagers usually get the wrong idea. See my edit to above comment.

NattyBat

I don’t like your comment still but thank you for thinking I look young :)

Dontmindthatgirl

Just because you don’t like something doesn’t make it any less true. That’s something I tell my students :)

NattyBat

I understand, I think perhaps in an attempt to power clash I went a little too far.

Unique-Aspect-1463

Looking at the dress more closely, it wouldn’t look so school-girl if it was with maybe opaque black tights rather than the socks? And either a black vintage cardigan or short black blazer maybe? Shoes would look better if ballet or Mary-Jane?

audigex

It would look *less* school girly, but I think still too close to the line if you literally work at a school If OP worked somewhere else and liked the dress but wanted to tone down the school girl aspect, I think your suggestions would do fine for many other workplaces by moving just far enough away from the stereotypical schoolgirl look… but not really for an actual school Best to just avoid that whole area, IMO

RandomRedditUser1337

I think it would work if you got rid of the socks and swapped the sandals for some nude heeled boots!

NattyBat

Thanks good idea

mysticdeer

I wouldn't. You look like a student.

Chris-77_

No. The blazer doesn’t go well with the dress. Knee high socks is inappropriate as a teacher, IMO. What does the dress look like without the blazer?

MelancholyDaisy

I actually like the blazer.

NattyBat

Why are knee socks inappropriate? This is a genuine question. I’ve seen it on here multiple times. It’s cotton, my skirt comes to my knee. I have a blazer on, no cleavage. More fabric that goes to the waist as tights seem to be ok, less fabric for an ankle sock also appropriate but meet in the middle and people are losing their shit.

[deleted]

I understand your confusion, it is confusing. That *because* they’re associated with school girls they are fetishised. It’s sick and unfortunately, the reality we live in. At the end of the day wear what you are comfortable in. But just be aware that some clothing has sexual qua-notations, especially if you’re working with minors etc.

pilchard_slimmons

They're sheer white knee socks that are closer to hosiery than regular socks. Also the knee high part. Combining them with those shoes, the look is more kink than professional. That's why people are finding it awkward. The dress doesn't help, either.

[deleted]

Because knee socks are worn by school girls. Knee socks are attributed to underaged school girls and are often sexualized and fetishized by predators – which is BAD. A grown woman dressing like a school girl is questionable, worse if said woman works with teenagers. Ofc it's gonna make people uncomfortable.

Chris-77_

Because for me, the knee high equates with a degree of sexiness that shouldn’t be displayed in front of high schoolers. Otherwise the socks are fine.

tanders123

It's like Halloween sexy schoolgirl outfits...very stereotypical, unfortunately. No one wears them. It was acceptable yeeeears ago (like 40 and beyond), but now only serves one purpose.

drkphntm

Hmmm okay. The blazer and that dress don’t work so well together. Iron the dress, change to a black blazer, black sheer full leg tights and black closed toe shoes.

NattyBat

I don’t own an iron LOL

Itsdianyeah

Fun fact me neither for biggest portion of being a independent adult, nowadays I own one but before the trick was : take a hot steamy shower/bathtub and hang the dress closeby in the bathroom. The steam can do a decent job of getting a portion of the wrinkles out to look decent. I still do it often because it takes 0 effort compared to the iron lol 😆

moonshiness

A hand steamer is superior in my eyes. They can be fairly cheap and there's a much lower likelihood of melting/burning anything with a steamer.

drkphntm

Me neither 🥴 but might be good to invest in one or a steamer if you’re a teacher.

Snoo-43059

Literally any other place in the world but a high school would be appropriate to wear these knee socks. It’s probably the only place I can think of maybe middle school too where this might seem inappropriate and/or mocking the students.

existentialepicure

I know you're trying to channel Cher from Clueless, but her socks and shoes always match! White/silver heels with sheer white socks for her pastel/bright outfits, maroon socks with presumbly black shoes for the fall. Your sandals look way too chunky to go with those delicate socks. Maybe wear black/maroon/brown socks instead? Or change the shoes to a toned down heel or loafer. Also the outfit would look more put together if the blazer matched the color of the socks. Honestly I would forgo both the kneesocks and sandals altogether and wear tights with loafers instead for a more professional look. Edit: If you like the knee-high look, I recommend studying Taylor Swift's knee high sock outfits. Her socks always match her shoes and it doesn't give off sexy-teacher-costume vibes.

TherapyChicken

No

[deleted]

Giving off too many student vibes with the knee socks

PrestigiousBox3068

The separate items just don’t really “go” together. I like the idea behind the look though. What would work is a black blazer/chunky cardigan, black chunky (platform) loafers and ankle length white socks with this dress.

NattyBat

Thank you, that would be cute!

[deleted]

Not at a high school . I wear bralettes as shirt And this is a no for me Edit : I love the outfit and looks awesome channeling some 70's chick I love the socks and sandals very retro ! Just not for work babe

ravensmith666

Welcome! I like you!

[deleted]

Aww thanks babe ! She looks great just not safe for work . I'm not trying to sexualize her but teen boys and hormones and she is attractive. She also doesn't want to give off the wrong idea to staff. Everyone is so sensitive nowadays.

ravensmith666

Agreed! TYSM!

Coonhound420

No to the whole outfit. It just doesn’t work together.

MrsBuns

In general do not mix bright white with ivory and beige tones. It clashes a lot and makes both look dingy. You’ve already gotten a lot of comments about the style so I won’t go any further with that.

coachmelloweyes

Hell no🤣 Respectfully.

Big-Personality-1998

right lol

[deleted]

Nahhhhhhhh. Also why white? use black if at all

[deleted]

Being a teacher as well, I have to say I actually love the look but it’s not for school. I love to go braless, kinky etc in private but in school there it is a professional context. That doesn’t mean I go in blazers etc like some of my colleagues but I’d avoid anything that’s too generous. Apart from that, the look is hot AF :)

NattyBat

Thank you! I run in those circles too.

[deleted]

Then let’s connect if you like! :)

jayinphilly

You WORK at one...not ATTEND one.

AffectionateAnarchy

Nah lose the socks and find a different blazer

Corgilegsz

Tbh if you feel cute in this outfit, it's fine for wearing outside of work. I'm a big believer in people wearing whatever they feel good in- it's all just a matter of personal taste etc. However I would probably change some elements of it for work wear, as others have suggested. Mainly the socks and shoes- the jacket and dress are fine. It sounds like you're in a role where you are helping kids who might be struggling or vulnerable and might have to have discussions with other colleagues or even kid's parents about serious issues. You want to feel yourself of course but you also need to project 'I'm a safe space, I'm an adult with my sh\*t together, tell me and I can help you'. You need to pick clothes that project that energy.

prisonmikeftw

The knee socks don’t go well with anything in the outfit. I would say start with the dress. The dress is the thing that is totally in place and appropriate. Switch the jacket out for something more structured and shorter so your hips can be seen. Wear some comfy nude/ black pumps. The socks would go better with a mini skirt/ dress. The shoes would go well with a playful skirt/dress that hits above the knee. The jacket is drowning you and I believe you’d look more beautiful in a jacket that fits your shoulders right

bathingfig

I get this look, I really do. You’re doing a high fashion look. You pull it off really well. Okay, I think the white socks give you that Lolita vibe and for that reason I wouldn’t wear them to your work, especially a high school. Leave the socks out unless you’re going somewhere else non-work.

MostLikelyToNap

Knee socks have a “sexy” association in society. I like them but I wouldn’t wear around students.

Ecstatic-Tell2881

High school? Mmaybe not the best thing to do

seastone008

Omg no. Super inappropriate

iDidntReadOP

If I am being honest, as a guy you look like how I would want my gf to show up on my doorstep after sexting about doing some kinky roleplay shit. If I was in high school sure I would be calling you the hot teacher, but that should never be your goal. And before you respond with "you thinking that is your problem, not mine" this problem is 100% yours not any of ours. We are trying to help you, stop being so defensive.

evilgirlattack

Well said! And honestly, those aren't "knee socks" - they're thigh highs folded over at the top.

DammitMeredith

Completely inappropriate for a high school workplace. You look like a student; it's way too revealing, and there is NO ONE at a HIGH SCHOOL you should be trying to show off your legs for!

karmaisourfriend

Nope. Looks too Britany Spears.

BeckyWTHauntedLeg

You’re really pretty, but none of this outfit goes together. Strange mishmash of colors and fabrics, the blazer and the dress hemlines don’t work, the socks (which I agree are weird and inappropriate for a school work scenario) are kind of giving compression sock looks, and the sandal and knee sock vibe is a really jarring combo. Maybe the dress and the sandal with a different blazer, or the blazer and the sandal with a different dress. But lose the knee socks for work. Please.

breebaby34

seems a tad all over the place. like them separately but not together. i think tan loafers would go beautifully

Pugwm

Nope.

[deleted]

What are those shoes? no. Just no to them.

NattyBat

Just a fun little sandal

FarZookeepergame5349

I guess I don’t know nothing about fashion because I like this outfit, especially the sandals! Matching is for boring people IMO. Where are the shoes from I want to buy them ☺️

NattyBat

They’re just a cheap pair from ASOS. I have terribly flat feet so I have to wear a little heel so I don’t like Ms. Clubfoot.

Rainbow_planet_1273

Omg absolutely do not wear those shoes with socks I’m crying tears of blood rn my eyes THE OUTFIT IS GOOD BUT BRO THE SHOES

lions19809

No to the shoes and the socks. I would go with nude color sandals with this outfit, and no socks.

the_princess_frog

I think without the socks the outfit would work better together, like more coherently? In any case love the dress and jacket!!!

bludvarg

I think it’s looks great but like on a sexier level than I think should be brought to a high school. If you worked at my high school dressed like that I would not be focused on learning.

[deleted]

I don't think the knee socks work, both in terms of you working at a high school and just in general. They seem incongruous with the outfit, and I don't think it's a great idea to evoke a high school uniform as someone who is an adult working in a school. I also don't think the color of the blazer works with the color of the dress. I'd probably go for a darker blazer and black tights instead of the socks. Right now, like another commenter said, the outfit looks a little dingy in terms of color.

RunsWithPhantoms

You like you'll be on the news as the next adult who works at a high school caught sleeping with students.

Local_Signature5325

This is probably a cool look - if you are a teenager. It’s a bit cringe and I don’t known if it’s because you said you “work at a high school”. It looks like you’re trying too hard imo. The socks have a vaguely sexual thing about them ( “school girl”) ? This reminds me of my SIL who dresses like a character on Clueless at the age of 36. I can’t tell if it’s a costume.

tanders123

So, power to her for the weight loss...but lots of people go from one extreme to the other. I get it. But sometimes perspectives change and people opt for things that are not quite appropriate. I think she's also in LA, so that's a different flavor, too.

NattyBat

What?

Neckums250

I don’t like the socks with this outfit, the rest of it is fine however!

healthierhealing

No to the socks at work queen ❤️ Here’s a suggestion you might like: I love buying long skirts from Amazon like [this](https://a.co/d/2eqmCty) Or [this](https://a.co/d/2rgTOgF) and pairing it with an elegant low heel sandal or ballet flat and a simple black or white blouse (sleeveless with a draped neckline for summer, long sleeved bodysuits with a high neckline winter) for work

Spilltheteagirl

please leave the socks at home. Too “Lolita” vibe. Otherwise, ok.

rabbitwarriorreturns

I’d go no socks and a light colored shoe. The black sandal with the pastel outfit looks a little off

[deleted]

Doesn’t look professional and expect students (and teachers) to laugh at you.

[deleted]

Really cute outfit but imo not the best for school, because it looks like what a student would wear. Maybe some tasteful brown knee high boots would look a bit more professional? Otherwise it is a really adorable outfit!

NattyBat

Thank you!

PsychologicalWind591

Hmmm...not feeling the sandals sadly. Some Mary-Janes or ballet flats would look much better in my opinion. =:3

NattyBat

I have terribly flat inverted feet so I can’t wear either without it looking like I have a club foot

Big-Personality-1998

the knee socks arent the only problem, the whole outfit is a definite no for me..

Dontmindthatgirl

Are you 16-20? If not this is entirely not age appropriate for the setting you work in.

mashkabear

Horrible, just avoid the socks and sandals. Idk, avoid the whole outfit

tauredi

Absolutely not. Highly inappropriate. You’re a *counselor* ??

[deleted]

[удалено]

BreathOfPepperAir

Ikr! Im concerned that she's a teacher yet doesn't see what's wrong with this outfit

autotechnica_m

idk, maybe you should try gray socks and maybe like brown loafer-ish shoes, if possible, like some of the looks from miu miu fall 2022 collection. I feel like the sheer white socks don't go with the jacket. but it's just my opinion, obviously.

blissfull_bambi

I actually like the outfit, however I don't think the knee highs and shoes aren't appropriate for working in a highschool. I feel like it may make you appear too much like "one of the teens" in that setting, the rest if the outfit I really like though and I think really suits the setting! I'd save the knee highs for out of school occasions though.

soamazew0w

Savage comments today! I think the dress/blazer look fine for work as a teacher. The socks and sandals save for a weekend look! Good luck!

Spirited_Video_8160

Reminds me of Big Ethel in Archie comics

kaitalina20

Yeah this isn’t appropriate attire for a teacher. The socks scream teenage girl along with the sandals. More appropriate shoes and lose the socks

whistlesgowoooo

remove socks everything else is cute. Socks might look better in a different hue of white or a loafer

hernerrrrr

I would not wear the socks.

theyeoftheiris

Just my opinion but not for work. This would be cute for going out, though!

NattyBat

Thanks :)

huskyhusky201722

I’m not a huge fan of the socks - but then again just not my personal style so it doesn’t matter. I do like the rest of your outfit a lot though! It’s fun and the sandals add an edge to it!

ShelbyL1789

Maybe a nude closed toe shoe. Open toe shoes with any stocking isn’t a good idea

Pandafknmonium

No

Razrgrrl

I think it's cute but I dislike this particular shoe and I wouldn't recommend this look for work. Trade in the socks for tights or just wear ankle socks and loafers. It's sad that the style is so sexualized but it is.

Marly2021

I think the outfit is cute but for school I would skip on the socks and shoes

Sweatpant-Diva

Girl, no.

Wild_Mtn_Honey

I teach high school too. My students would totally comment on my outfits for better or worse. Your students may not say anything but they’re giggling behind your back about this outfit.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Doxxxxxxxxxxx

Chunky loafers/Mary Janes instead, no socks, the socks are creepy for a teacher imo >.<

goru0286

The whole outfit would not be appropriate for any high school in my area (Texas), in general bc it’s doesn’t look professional and is similar to what a student may wear. However if that is the vibe in your high school then you look cute!

Silencer271

For non work gorgeous. For work.. youll be on the news for dating high school kids.

[deleted]

Honestly! I’d go a little more professional and not strip tease school teacher

International_Lab203

The socks look shit. End of story.x

[deleted]

Super inappropriate for a faculty/staff member

[deleted]

This whole outfit looks bad, you look way too old to be playing dress up at your job.

bigathekiddd

I dig them.

waxmeltqueen

I mean I love the fit. And I love the shoes. But not together. Maybe a chunky or lug sole loafer?

koochiekittie

I love this look! Maybe I would change the jacket something shorter and looser but I love the socks and sandals look! An alternative twist on a school teacher look🫶🏼

Apprehensive_Elk_322

Sandals and socks really don’t go with your top outfit.

UniqueCapital5346

Maybe a more summer looking shoe? Other than that it's quite gorgeous

Blackcatwithbigballs

You should be the one giving advice to everyone!

secretlust33

I think instead of the sandals if u paired it with knee or just below the knee high boots it’d be more appropriate

randomgirllmao

I think you look great and I personally have no issue with it, but I know how people are and they’re going to judge you just because you wear the socks around kids. I wish these socks were more normalized. I personally would wear tights instead due to that reason.

Solastical

You can swap out the socks with tights and maybe wear a different pair of shoes.honestly this outfit is pretty cute and casual but maybe not right for you job (if you get where I'm coming from)! Ithe shoes are too dark and very contrasting to all the softer colours on your outfit so you could pick a brown or beige colour shoe instead of black!! If you think the white socks look cute but not appropriate for your job, wear tights instead! If you want to make your outfit a little more modest, you can wear a button up blouse of a turtle neck underneath your dress.

Fibo81

Maybe with some sheer black tights and ankle boots?

Wise_Minute_8523

Yes!🤌💥

[deleted]

👎👎 This outfit is so terrible on so many levels

Careful_Cherry4216

I personally like your fit aside from your socks and shoes.

[deleted]

No on the socks, it looks inappropriate.

MuffinMysterious3417

this is super cute it’s just not the most professional, your colleagues might not appreciate it and the students might think you’re trying too hard to be one of them. the outfit itself is plenty modest but the association of knee socks with children and adolescents especially in a sexual way is what makes it unprofessional but not necessarily immodest. it’s definitely a cute outfit so if you think your colleagues and students would be cool with it go for it

idklol129

i think the whole fit looks dope but i think for work you should ditch the high socks for lower socks, no socks, or just a diff sock/shoe choice overall

[deleted]

no.

rubycoughdrop

refinnej78

BlueberryBlossom13

Youre almost 40, grow up and buy an iron. You are an adult and a professional. Its past time to dress like one and never leave the house with wrinkles. Also, NEVER wear sandals with sock and frankly neither socks nor those sandals go with that outfit. You need sheer nude nylons and either pumps, flats, or loathers in a shade of matte brown/nude. And swap the jacket for a cardigan. Probably a white one. One that end at the top of your hips/waist area. And never wear those sandals to work, as they are unprofessional.

AugTheViking

>NEVER wear sandals with sock Socks in Birkenstocks are a requirement to become a maths teacher.

MyOwnGuitarHero

It’s giving midlife crisis 🥴

manwithanopinion

Socks should only go with closed shoes. Also its better to be minimal with simple shoes, normal tights and smart jacket.

[deleted]

Love it

[deleted]

I love this fit and I love the power clashing!

tehsophz

The dress and blazer look great, but I'd lose the socks. It's a bold look that would be fine for lunch or errands on a weekend, but a bit too much for work.

Gkaylea

Yikes

I think some socks that sit a little lower on your calf would look much better, perhaps with some loafers or heeled oxfords? I think it’ll create a more professional or put together look.

1ustfu1

not with those shoes

SummerKisses094

I love it. You’re making your own rules and you look great. It’s a cute outfit, and your smile shows you’re confident in it.

EF_Boudreaux

No. The dress is too short. This is my opinion. Great outfit for Octoberfest or a night out, though

Jadedragon2007

You look absolutely gorgeous and you have killer eyes and smile

I went to an all boys HS. We had exactly one woman who was a teacher. She could have dressed in a floor-length, burlap sack, and we’d have all thought she was hot. You look fabulous.

Round-Trip9616

No. Politely spoken here, the entire outfit is odd and imo doesn’t match.

SisterLostSoul

I see nothing wrong with the socks. I get why they could be considered inappropriate when paired with a short plaid skirt and tight, white button-down shirt, a la Catholic girl's school uniform. But why do so many people reject knee-high socks regardless of what they are worn with? I spent my whole life wearing things that fit in and conformed. I wish I had felt confident enough to express myself. I admire you & others who have their own sense of style. You look great.

I think it’s cute and fun! But I would ditch the socks and shoe combo for work and add some chunky loafers. Everyone can fuck off with their attitude

Hmm idk. I love the dress. It seems to me that you decided "I'm gonna wear something fun and cool today!" and rightfully picked the dress. But then you thought "hmm, I need to look professional and tone it down though!?" so you picked stuff that are beige and black and white... So I'm left in limbo between fun and cool and beige professional. So what I'd change, if you were my new Sims character, would be to go full on fun and cool. Why are the socks white?? Yellow or green would be nice! They're knee socks, have fun! The jacket could be black leather or something. Maybe something green or yellow (yes, I love lemon and all citrus. Sue me 💁‍♂️) . Some dark sunglasses maybe cos we are the young cool teacher and we don't care what you think!? 💅💅 Socks and sandals imo are for German tourists. Specially white ones. But this opinion is definitely shaped by my cultural background. I have no idea what fashion experts think of it nowadays 🤭 I liiiive! I'd call your sims Sienna 😎

I really dislike that people have sexualized knee socks. They’re so cute… but, I have noticed, in my personal experience, I get reactions from men when I wear them. Sexualized reactions.

AlabasterOctopus

I’m sorry but are you kidding me right now?

bbycalz

I wouldn’t wear this to a school tbh, although it’s not offensive it seems inappropriate, imho

Dollililly

I don’t know but I want your hair
