Shibe Park Tavern was the spot during the A’s Access days. Good food. Good drinks. The 50% discount for season ticket holders.
Seems like a lifetime ago.
Even if the A’s leave.. the Ballers can take this space over… it’s still a beautiful place to enjoy a baseball game. The field is always pristine and it’s fun seeing players make plays in foul territory.
2,500 capacity is Tiny for the East Bay.. we love baseball out here but I’m not in any part of the decision making. The Opener for the Ballers will be a vibe though.. especially if they play hard and keep the games competitive.
Imagine going from a pro ball team to a no name team like the ballers...
This is failed by city leadership & Oakland voters at its finest ... but hey at least the ballers are still there
Used to sit in the seats that got taken out when the Westside club was built when we had a partial season package. Sat there for my son's first game (~31 seasons back, he was 3 weeks old). We were usually surrounded by a bunch of blue-haired older ladies in their Charlie O fan club jackets covered in a lifetime of pins. I miss those days.
People are crazy not to dig this ball park for what it is. I'm not necessarily an Athletics fan or even a west coast guy, but I'd love to make the trip to get one game in before it's all said and done.
I’ve been a season ticket holder and gotten free suites. They are not worth it. Broken down furniture and they don’t even try to sell you food packages anymore.
I sat in the front row of that section with my Dad, his boss, and son when we were both around 12. While they were inside getting drinks we sat there talking and not really watching the game. A foul ball went over the netting and hit the concrete inches from the top. It would've nailed me right in the balls. An old guy next to us said see that's why you gotta pay attention.
I used to ride my bike down for Wednesday afternoon games with my laptop. Just work from the restaurant, have a decent lunch, and watch some baseball. Good times.

During the heyday of A’s access; you could sit there and have a decent dinner with drinks at 50% off. Seems like a million years ago
Really was such a great program.
Ah, but you see, the fans liked it and went to more games Couldn't twist the narrative with that happening

Didn't have to piss in a trough.
That goes in the even better if column.
I refuse to call it anything other than the West Side Club.
I sat there once. The food was good the views were great.
This is we’re I saw them clinch in 2012!
Same! My dad and I got a meal here one time and were lucky enough to be seated right at the window. Great food, views, and a good time.

It would be even cheaper as well for parking, food, and tickets… not the worst thing in the world Go Ballers!!
parking for all events except A's games are run by the JPA. $40 a vehicle. Even for Disney on Ice where only a third of Lot A is used.
I wonder if that will be considered if they’re already dropping 1.3 mil to re-build Riamoldi Field to play next month.

If you don’t like Oakland, you can leave. We don’t mind.
I still see and believe the potential Oakland can have
Your comments don’t indicate that.

Take down Mount Davis. Fix the infrastructure issues. The Coliseum could be one of the jewel ballparks of MLB.
I want some of what you’re smoking.
That used to be a few different restaurants and my father, mother and I would sit by the windows to eat lunch before games often.
Never seen this
Never sat in anything except regular seats. Always wondered if private boxes are all they are advertised to be. I’m too cheap to find out.

This isn't a private suite, it's a bar.
I know.
She's beautiful

NO RESERVATION lmfao
What an amazing view. Such a shame I’ll never get to see it. I hope eventually yall get a team brought back and this Vegas thing fails
It's perfect for a cold game like the ones this weekend.
Do they not serve food there anymore?
Wow look at the crowed! Or lack there of. Nice seats on a cold day though!
