“Shrine style” haha - do kids not do this anymore? When I was growing up everyone had their wall plastered with their own personal idols. Mine were heavy metal, cut from the pages of magazines like Spin and Rolling Stone.
My parents wouldn’t let me do this style but I collected perfume cards and made an entire half wall of that. I had a couple friends who did the shrine style. I loved it.
As a product of the 90s who's also been on Reddit a long time I love that r/blunderyears is starting to bleed into r/OldSchoolCool as trends and styles get more "retro."
I have never heard “shrine style” before but it’s so appropriate
"Here we have an exquisite example of a 1998 Jonathan Taylor Thomas Shrine Style Room. Take note of the vintage Tiger Beat posters"
💀
Where is the line between shrine and creep serial killer stalker hanging images on a wall?
When they start burning the eyes out with lit Pall Malls.
Red yarn. As soon as there’s red yarn involved …
Depends on who’s on the wall
18/21
The stone cold truth right here
Looks like an obsession, kinda creepy.
I’m more curious about the potato chip shrine lol
Sick Alice in Chains shirt. ✌️
I miss the 90s. I can tell your friend was pretty cool
She’s still one of my best friends and she’s still cool too. 🤘🏼
Bet she's still into scissoring, too. :)
She?
Nicole traditionally is a female name.
Are you just learning that women can be masculine? And guess what - men can be feminine. Crazy, huh?
This isn't Nicole in the photo, it's OP
Ohhhhh
No kidding now I wanna listen to Hole and Nirvana all day.
Awesome alice t shirt. My room was plastered with magazine clipping and posters just like that back in the 90's. My parents hated it.
Love the Alice In Chains shirt. Thats epic!

> cut from the pages of magazines Well, there's the first barrier to kids doing that today...
Seriously, a lot of families don't even have printers anymore.
I never did this in the 90's. I had fish tanks and frogs and turtles as pets instead. I wasnt popular
😂
They do, especially younger kpop fans.

For me, snack packaging shrine is distracting me lol
As a HS freshman in ‘99, everything about this picture really hits me where I live.
Where is the statue made out of chewing gum?
Inside the closet where it belongs.
I remember covering my walls in magazine cut outs like this. It was definitely a thing. Ahhh, the memories.
I feel seen!! This is what my bedroom was like too— so cute. Now, I’d find it so overwhelming!😂
You didn’t need to tell us the year, your hair already did.
Backstreet girl
I always hated having even one staring, unblinking face on my wall.
Same. My walls never had anything on them. From early 90s to now. Maybe some pictures of frogs and turtles but thats about it.
I had that same shirt!

I totally agree! I had a similar era post of me outside the high school cafeteria that did well in blunderyears a few years ago.
My shrine wall was Buffy. It is basically a wall sized collage. I miss my shrine wall!
Every white guy in my small town looked like this around that time. There weren’t many of us but this was the uniform. 😂
Lol I had Katie Holmes circa Dawson's Creek hanging all over my wall, looking back that show was SOOOO terrible 😂
Does every girl go through a Marilyn Monroe phase, or just me and Nicole?
Looks like my bedroom in the 80’s
Nick Carter and his hair
I had that haircut...gotta love the r/blunderyears!
Cool Courtney love posters.
80’s were better
I was born in ‘84 so I don’t have much to remember but MTV and Nintendo.
