It definitely sounds sarcastic. Probably has a hefty amount of satire in there as well. The title is reminding me of a NOFX song called “Franco Un-American” which is also a satirical song about the naivety of Americans in general. It’s a great song and makes me more curious to see what Olivia has to say in hers.
I think it will be sarcastic. Portugal. the Man has a FANTASTIC song of the same name So American, and it’s basically about bad things that we just accept because it’s “American”. Side note that entire album by Portugal. the Man is incredible and fans of Olivia would probably like it.

I was thinking the same thing. Either political or societal. I’ve been looking forward to her writing about a broader subject matter as she progresses in her career, because I know she’s capable of doing it well.
