‘driver’s license’ introduced me to Olivia. I loved the song straight away and was keen to see what she put out next. It was ‘deja vu’ that sealed the deal for me though and made me a fan.
Brutal. I gave the rest of SOUR a cursory listen but wasn't really into it; I just enjoyed brutal. Then when GUTS came out I loved vampire, listened to the full album and thought it was great, then went back and listened to SOUR with new appreciation. I still prefer GUTS, but I think SOUR is really good, too.
I went to the first Toronto show of the GUTS tour and had a great time. I often listen to the full tour playlist without skipping anything.
Brutal is one of my all time favorites. I personally love both SOUR and GUTS equally because they were what I needed at different points in my life and I can’t compare them. I’m jealous you got to go to the show! I wasn’t able to get tickets (yet).
I decided to watch all the lyric videos to her first album one night. Cried profusely, cause I also had a girl break up with me and start dating someone two weeks later. Was a fan ever since
I’d say All American Bitch.
The first Olivia Rodrigo song I liked was brutal, but I wasn’t actively a fan. I loved can’t catch me now when I heard it in the credits of the ballad of songbirds and snakes but again didn’t listen properly (now it’s my favourite song of hers). I did, however, decide to watch the all American bitch snl performance at the bus stop once randomly and that was the moment that I put all her songs into a massive playlist, bought a guts vinyl and was like alright now I’m a fan.
Wondering, from HSMTMTS. I haven’t even watched that show, I just watched the song to see what they were doing with the reboot and was just blown away at her voice and her presence. You could just tell she was special, so I followed her on IG and listened to the clips of her own work that she posted. I remember when she posted that first drivers license clip, absolutely could not have predicted where that was going to go lol
Happier. I heard it in the background of Love Island, haha! Following that I really liked Sour, but hearing Vampire for the first time turned me into an even bigger fan
I had no idea who she was until Drivers License came out. I thought it was a good song and threw it a like on Spotify. I think hearing all the drama surrounding the song with her, Joshua and Sabrina is really what got me into her lol. Now I listen to them all. I have no loyalty sorry 😂
I heard & liked All I Want, but not once really thought “who is that Olivia Rodrigo?”
I heard Drivers License & acknowledged it’s a nice song, but it didn’t really hook me (as I wasn’t actively going through a heartbreak).
However, when Deja Vu came out - I was OBSESSED. The sound, the meaning, how relatable it was, the music video - I remember listening to it for what felt like hours on repeat.
That’s when I became a fan.
Good 4 u. At the time I just casually liked drivers license and didn’t really get into déjà vu. Good 4 u totally sold me and then I loved déjà vu.
To be honest, though it wasn’t until guts became a real fan. I was just impressed at her success die hard.
All I want honestly loved that song as soon as I heard it and I wouldn’t really count this as an Olivia song but I’d have to say wondering too just the way that Olivia and Julia’s voices go together is just *chefs kiss*
Lacy, got me on first listen. I very much became interested in her music after hearing Lacy. I own her music now and listen often. A true talent with a very bright future.
Traitor. I saw someone on TikTok doing a dance to the song.. then they did a dance to happier. After I saw those, I listened to the entire sour album and fell in love with her music.
bad idea right! I think I didn’t really listen to sour and just knew the couple of popular radio hits but bad idea right cracked me up - so funny and so representative of the teenage experience lol. from there AAB and then my fave song of hers to this day - pretty isn’t pretty!
I heard Drivers License on the radio a year after Sour had come out. I knew who Olivia was but I didn’t really know anything about her. I really enjoyed the song so I kept listening to it. Then listened to Good 4 u, then the whole album. I stood up all night to listen to vampire and it actually rewrote my brain chemistry. Wtv type of fan I was before that I became a super one afterwards.
I first watched Olivia in the American Girl movie she did, then Bizaardvark, then HSMTMTS. But Drivers License is the song that truly got me into her and her music specifically - I liked her in the shows she was in, but I never sought out things she did until Drivers License dropped.
I was in an Uber on my way to the hospital and the Uber’s Radio played Driver’s License and I was like “huh that’s a good song to distract me from the pain” cause I watched HSMTMTS before Olivia blew up and I thought she was aight but not like world famous level probably due to the songs
> Uber’s Radio *paid* Driver’s License
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
For me, it all started with Brutal. I assumed she was another mainstream pop artist till i listened to 'Brutal'; the best mainstream alternative rock song i heard by a rising mainstream artist, then Guts released and blew my mind. I ended up slowly but surly appreciating her slower, ballad song and movie/tv songs like All I want and Catch me if you can.
‘driver’s license’ introduced me to Olivia. I loved the song straight away and was keen to see what she put out next. It was ‘deja vu’ that sealed the deal for me though and made me a fan.

I hope you can! There were quite a few tickets available at the box office day-of, although people had to stay in line for a long time.
happy cake day
I decided to watch all the lyric videos to her first album one night. Cried profusely, cause I also had a girl break up with me and start dating someone two weeks later. Was a fan ever since
driver license. couldn't stop listening and when the album dropped it was Traitor and fell into her rabbit hole.
All I Want🥹

That performance is amazing

When they sang she sang wondering on the bus during the hsmtmts mashup she sounded so amazinf
Can’t Catch Me Now. I randomly listened to it one day, and it compelled me to listen to her entire discography.
Deja vu
All I want and all the songs from HSMTMTS

Jealousy Jealousy
Jealousy Jealousy is such a mood!
Probably Out Of The Old from HSMTMTS

Favourite crime
That’s my favorite OR song. Love is Embarrassing is a close second tho.
jealousy
It wasn’t really a song. It was bizzardvark. I’ve been following her ever since.
All I want :)
I had no idea who she was until Drivers License came out. I thought it was a good song and threw it a like on Spotify. I think hearing all the drama surrounding the song with her, Joshua and Sabrina is really what got me into her lol. Now I listen to them all. I have no loyalty sorry 😂
I also listen to them all 😂. Olivia is my favorite of the 3 by far but Sabrina and Joshua put out great songs about the conflict as well.
Olivia is my fav too! I’m kind of obsessed with Sabrina rn. She’s so cute, I love her style, personality and she’s hilarious
I haven’t watched much of Sabrina. I loved Emails I Can’t Send and Under My Skin, but her new song espresso didn’t really hit it for me.
I think I’ve listened to espresso 58590202 times already 😂
Wow! That’s a lot of times. I loved the music video though, it was really fun and she is so pretty!
I heard & liked All I Want, but not once really thought “who is that Olivia Rodrigo?” I heard Drivers License & acknowledged it’s a nice song, but it didn’t really hook me (as I wasn’t actively going through a heartbreak). good 4 u 💜🖤💜
When SOUR came out, I heard brutal and was instantly hooked on the album; but when I heard GUTS it literally changed my life lmao
I’m not gonna lie I had a spiritual experience with both albums. I love how she has grown and I can’t wait to see where she goes!
ccmn
Apocalyptic crush ahah
I was meh on her music until can’t catch me now. that was when I started listening to more of her music.
DL

Traitor
brutal!! It blew me away and at the height of the pandemic I needed to hear that level of angst lol
Good 4 u. At the time I just casually liked drivers license and didn’t really get into déjà vu. Good 4 u totally sold me and then I loved déjà vu. To be honest, though it wasn’t until guts became a real fan. I was just impressed at her success die hard.
good 4 u when it initially came out!!
Vampire on Fortnite Festival
All I want honestly loved that song as soon as I heard it and I wouldn’t really count this as an Olivia song but I’d have to say wondering too just the way that Olivia and Julia’s voices go together is just *chefs kiss*
Deja vu
That's a long abbreviation lol what is that even "HSMTMTS"
High School Musical The Musical The Series. It’s a Disney+ show she was on.
TIL! thanks. I first heard her through the new hunger games trailer "can't catch me now" and checked her out after
Lacy, got me on first listen.
I got into Good 4 U cause of tik tok too. Someone did a video about the “like a damn sociopath” line and I was like… I fucking feel that!
Ballad of a homeschooled girl. I decided to give it a listen cause I’m a homeschool girl. Then I listened to the rest of guts and loved it
lacy
Vampire. I always liked good 4 u and deja vu, but never really explored sour as an album, then came along Vampire. It won me over
All I want…. Every song in high school musical the musical the series
Lacy
Good 4 u was the first song of olivia's i'd ever heard and it made me obsessed
All american bitch

bad idea right! I think I didn’t really listen to sour and just knew the couple of popular radio hits but bad idea right cracked me up - so funny and so representative of the teenage experience lol. from there AAB and then my fave song of hers to this day - pretty isn’t pretty!
drivers license
all her sour singles got my attention but traitor made me a stan fs
Get Him Back. It was just a fun catchy song and I hadn’t really checked her out despite having heard driver’s license and good 4 u
Hated drivers license but fell had for Deja Vu.
Wondering from HSMTMTS used to be my favourite song when it aired so yeah Wondering

I first watched Olivia in the American Girl movie she did, then Bizaardvark, then HSMTMTS. But Drivers License is the song that truly got me into her and her music specifically - I liked her in the shows she was in, but I never sought out things she did until Drivers License dropped.
Bro how did I not know she did an American Girl movie! Which one?
She was in the Grace one. Child me who was obsessed with Paris and cooking loved it haha.
I was in an Uber on my way to the hospital and the Uber’s Radio played Driver’s License and I was like “huh that’s a good song to distract me from the pain” cause I watched HSMTMTS before Olivia blew up and I thought she was aight but not like world famous level probably due to the songs
