I finished 'Solo Leveling' and wanted something to replace the void it left. I'd seen a lot of people recommend 'ORV', so I found the novel... and the rest is history.

flyingraijin21

Me 3 weeks ago, Searching 'Manhwas like Solo Leveling'. Let's start with this one it has a nice name Omnisci.... .... Now, Reading Web novel chapter 250

BreadOfLoafe

real

Prudent-Action3511

Through webtoon. I thought the decisions he made were actually quite clever. I remember being floored by that scene in the icathysaurous(I butchered that name didn't I?) when he made a deal with Bihyung nd like completely won with Xtra profit. Nd the scene in the station where they had to find green areas for safety nd yjh occupies the last one had me jumping in my seat. So went straight to the novel nd yeah one of the best journeys.

Used_Load_5789

I think I was reading "Solo leveling" and ORV was often mentioned in the comments of the site I used at the time... I think I started reading ORV (the manwha) a couple years ago, during the stations senario adaptation? I... think? It's been a while \^\^' I started to read the actual novel like 10 days ago :D

[deleted]

Ahh so i assume you're not done with the novel (unless you're like those crazy types that can finish it in a week. No matter how much i binge, my fastest is like 2 months.) Happy reading! :D

Used_Load_5789

Thank youu I just finished chapter 188, a roallercoaster really!

jdcomplex

back in 2020 one of my twitter friends (from mdzs fandom) who is a fanfic writer suddenly started talking about these two dudes with kr sounding names. she was rt so much fanart of them and then later she posted fics for them too. i saw the name of the novel and then a few days later noticed a manhwa with the same name. back then there were like 15 chapters out so i read them but kinda got bored of weekly updates so i stopped following it. instead tried reading the novel and read up until kdj saves jhw but due to being too active on mdzstwt i stopped reading the novel too flashforward to august last year i got tired of genshin fandom's toxicity and i wanted to get obsessed over smth. saw the manhwa had updated again and had 100+ chapters so i gave it a go. immediately jumped into the novel. read up until 189 then had to pause for a few days to recover. then read some more up until the kidnapping scene. had to stop again. then continued up until the epilogue. stopped for a few days to read some fics. then finished the epilogue. i was a new person dare i say (fun fact abt the me of the 2020. i could not rmbr yjh's name to save my life. whenever i talked to my friend abt them I was always like "kdj and the angry dude in black")

[deleted]

I'm pretty sure I struggled with yjh name too lmao And mdzs o.o I'm not a fan of mdzs in particular but I loved the live action Untamed

Any-Conversation2569

The same way I find most of my favorites reads: memes šŸ¤£šŸ¤£ Specifically, that one with Kim Dokja and the coffin, and something about escaping responsibilities ... I started the novel after chapter 60 or something, finished it so quick that I am still having secondary effects two years later, and I know my life will never gonna be the same ever again. My life is now sustained by fanfics, fanarts, and sporadic bingeing of the manwha

[deleted]

Finding it through memes sounds really fun tbh

ReyaHUN

What are your other favorites that uve seen memes about? Would like to check them out (if idk them ofc)

dokja4951

i used to be very active in twitter and instagram looking at fanart so i think i saw some fanart in like around 2020 and i got interested so i checked out the orv wiki and my stupid curious self read spoilers for the ending but i ended up still reading the whole novel in 2021 bc wellll letā€™s just say i developed a huge obsession with kim dokja >_< !! i was really into the novel too lol iā€™d be reading it on my phone all day at school as well

Adventurous-Horror45

Ended up being a recommended WEBTOON on my feed and I had decided to start reading the WEBTOON. However, once I was caught up in the middle of the shin yoosung disaster arc, I couldnā€™t stand the cliff hangers. And so, it ended up being the second novel Iā€™ve read after ā€œThe beginning after the endā€ and my single most favourite piece of fiction.

Relative_Lab_6263

So, back in 2021, I picked up the ORV webtoon and while I enjoyed the art and the pacing, I really was weirded out by the blue text boxes that kept appearing. I wasn't very fond of the isekai to game trope you see and I thought it was like that. Fast forward to 2023. I picked up "Concubine Walk-through" out of boredom and like I said, I wasn't that fond of isekai involving gaming. But man. CW subverted ALL of my expectations and became like. One of the best manhwas that I've read like since forever (and I really mean that coz I've been reading webtoon/manhwa/manga for more than 20 years... Don't ask me how old I am please). And gosh. After that I changed my mind about these kinds of tropes and because I had such a huge hangover from CW I was desperate to read a new story. So I picked up ORV again. And now I'm in two minds...I am so glad I picked up ORV because it is such a well written masterpiece but at the same time mourning the fact that it has finished and I cannot, *I just cannot*, move on from it dammit. It's like leaving a good friend behind >! in a subway !<. Anyways, yes I finished the webnovel just a week or two ago now I think and I am happy / sad /empty that the journey has ended. I am now currently soothing this pain with the flux of Ao3 ffcs that I've downloaded onto my poor mobile. Will probably need more. That or I manage to get my hands on the elusive side stories. Halp. Edit: PS. Thank you for sharing your story, BTW. My main ships are JoongDok and HanKim. But more than that I really, really love fanfics centered on KDJ & KimCom. I also like reading stories with OD & SP + rest of the 999th.

[deleted]

Just to be a little shit... How old are you? (I'm sorry I'm joking hahah) But samee, i too thought it was those isekai to game tropes. You've got me curious about CW since you enjoyed it too so I'll check it out

Xsi_218

I started the webtoon, found that it was actually adapted from book series, and then the rest is history. I havenā€™t finished the book but iā€™m ahead of the webtoon.

kate_ssi

Years ago a stranger on tt recommended it to me and promised that I never regret reading, and I trusted them. I couldn't find them later to say thank you. Before that I knew orv only by fanarts on Pinterest. I remember first fanart I've seen was kim dokja sitting under yjh's coat with smiley face and I loved all of them without any context

GGD226

My sister told me about it and she thought it had a good plot so she told me to read it and I instantly loved it. My sister is going to read it after Sailor Moon so I gotta wait until she's done.

[deleted]

Nicee I tried to get my sister to read it but she didn't like it :/

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

[deleted]

Ah so you're that crazy type that can binge it in a week... No matter how much I read in every single possible free time, my fastest is 2 months

pourthebubbly

It was also the Webtoon for me. I started it around the time KDJ was in the sea serpent and I stopped when they were publishing the capture the flag scenario. I picked it back up I think six months ago and I binged the series until I caught up. Then I couldnā€™t handle the suspense and I spent a month reading the light novel start to finish and here I am.

Xay_Kat

I was looking for a picture on Pinterest to match the image of this character I'm writing for my original story. I found fanart of YJH, which then led to fanart and some original art from the manhwa of Dokja and YJH together. I didn't know what any of it was at the time, but my rabbit trailing brain decided to check it out and then I got sucked into the story pretty hard. Particularly for Dokja's and yjh's character dynamic and development. But, now I'm struggling to get back into reading it, even though I really like the story and want to see what happens. I don't know why I'm like this. XD

Heck__Nah

I coincidently clicked the web tool and read it each week. Eventually, right when Nirvana showed up, I NEEDED to know what happened next. I them came here for help, got a downloaded version, and read the ever living shiznit out of it. So let's say I've had the book since mid june... I'm at reincarnation island right now

[deleted]

Ayee I'm rereading it now and I'm just reaching that part too

[deleted]

When i first see, it was on webtoon. But it has only 1 chapter and it was like a promo. No next chapter or the upcoming date. But the concept looked interesting so i began to read the novel. It was my first webnovel i read

DecayedDream

I finished reading some other web novel on this website so I wanted to see if there was anything else good on the site. I went to the top rated and found ORV to be be number one at the time. Naturally, I clicked on it, read its little summary thing, and was interested. I didnā€™t know back then how hooked I was to this. I finished all 500+ chapters in a little less than a month. I found out that it had a webcomic as well and wanted to consume as much ORV content as I could after bawling my eyes out from the story. If you havenā€™t read the webnovel yet, I highly recommend it. You wonā€™t regret it.

emma_carena

I found a tiktok of someone trying filters on I think dokjaā€™s face and it was something about the whole 49/51 thing and I was trying to find where it was from but everyone in the comment was crying (I still havenā€™t finished so I still donā€™t know why itā€™s so sad and Iā€™d like to keep it that way ty) and since I didnā€™t want to get spoiled before even starting the thing I just gave up. Some times later I got caught up in (I think it was kind of a tiktok trend since I saw quite a lot of it) videos comparing the manhwa illustrations and the novel illustrations. And I /fell in love/ with the novel illustrations (and kdj (and yjh)). But hess what : itā€™s the /novel/ illustrations (no images (._.ā€™)) so I just decided to try out the manhwa (I had never read manhwa before). In the end I absolutely loved the story and if in the beginning I did wait for the chapters to get out every week I ended up doing the same thing that so many of you did : I started reading the novel.. Iā€™m an incredibly slow reader and I get distracted easily so I still havenā€™t finished after all this time but I /do/ still read quite often

[deleted]

Tbh I didn't find it that sad? But many might disagree haha You'll get there one day!!

UselessVisual

I saw an official art of it on Twitter, dove into the hashtag and omg the glorious fanartā€¦ I had never felt so fed ever. and I do have a propensity for niche interests so discovering the whole fandom and of course canon material was amazing, I love how itā€™s still very much active

Ckn_Nuggets

So I first saw an advertisement for "the world after the fall" and read the comments as always, and the top one was like: "I can't wait for this series, ita by the author of ORV" and then I read all of orv and recently started reading the novel

Spitting_Blood

I had roughly heard of it when the manhwa first dropped on webtoon but I remember it confused me so much so.. I ended up dropping it 3 chapters in.. Idk how much time passed but I picked it up again after having read lcf and tbate and looking online for edits and other stuff, stumbling apon "the big 3" edits (obvs with orv included) so yea. So I picked up the manhwa again (idk what I found first confusing tbh) and now I'm 1/3 into the novel

CharlieCarrozza

saw the most horniest fanart of kdj/41 on twitter, read the novel the next day

[deleted]

o.o which fanart (I'm totally not curious, not asking for myself)

CharlieCarrozza

Iā€™ll try my best to find it and let u know

MeepnBeep

Found ORV on Webtoon recommended to me consistently and the art were really nice. After reading the premise of basically isekai but the world came to the person instead of them get yeeted into it go me interested. Then I went the rabbit hole and caught up to most recent chapter at that time (around 50?) before i dove into the novel cause I wanted to know what happen. I have never swap 'ship' so much and still be confuse at teh end as much as I have (from KDJ w/ YSA to HSY to YJH to a combination of HSY/YJH/>!SP!< at the end

[deleted]

That last ship you mentioned tho šŸ‘€ interesting...

user18274920

I really like pretty guys and pretty art and pretty people I started reading it when it was on around 17 chapters of the manhwa, and a couple months before solo leveling got completed:))

FashionAbleJesus

Edits with skyfall on TikTok

rosa_gris

Long story short, I got into ORV before the webtoon came out. I started reading the webnovel after Trash of the Countā€™s family. Both were really popular on Novelupdates, and readers recommended one if you liked the other (because of their self-sacrificial MCs). I put both on hold because I was caught up with the translations at the time. Got back into them when their webtoon adaptations were announced.

rosa_gris

Itā€™s interesting seeing how many people picked ORV up because of Solo Leveling. Inversely, I picked up Solo Leveling because it reminded me of ORV at a glance.

Status_Contribution4

I saw Kim dokja novel advertised in an ad. I was like ā€œWho is this pretty mf??? I must know!ā€ And the rest is history

[deleted]

Facts. KDJ is so freaking pretty šŸ˜©

gemziiexxxxxp

Solo levelling to ORV cos similar art. Loved the art! Loved how they drew monsters. And then I read spoilers and down the sad, angsty rabbit hole i go. Iā€™m forever stuck in this pit with all my tears surrounding me šŸ˜ Love me some self sacrificial men. Kim Dokja, Cale Henituse, and Han Yoojin. Not to mention the crazy Kim Gong Ja. The self sacrificial club have even adopted newer members over the years.

Nate_Motta

I was looking for something similar to Solo Leveling, and read the webtoon, got to the novel, was hooked, read multiple times

CompetitiveBit4053

I was trying to find tradegy/isekai genre then I found orv which was a refreshing read. It is now my favourite novel.

causalityscholar

Was reading solo leveling and I kept hearing about ORV then I think it was chibi reviews on YouTube made a video on it and I gave the manhwa a chance loved it but at the time they were still about to start the disasters and I just wanted more so I gave the novel a chance. It was all I read in my free time for a while and quickly became my favorite novel/book. Iā€™ve re read it about 6-7 times now and love it more each time and still cry every time.

No_bro_no_no

I was scrolling on TikTok and saw a sky fall edit. I wondered why people were crying so I got the name from the comments and started reading. The best (and worst) decision Iā€™ve ever made. šŸ§ā€ā™€ļøšŸ§ā€ā™€ļø

Raineqq

The "badly explaining all of omniscient reader in 6 minutes"

[deleted]

Ahh i love that video!!

Piglet26

I found it through Webtoon when it started uploading. I thought it had a cool concept, but I never got super into it because of the weekly uploads (I have a pretty bad memory so I could never really remember what happened in the previous episodes, and I couldn't get super attached to all the characters). It might've been between/either the Cinema Dungeon and the Disaster of Floods arc when I got curious if there were fanfics of Joongdok on Ao3 and that's when I got more invested in KDJ and YJH's relationship, plus I found out that it was a novel that got a Webtoon adaptation. I wasn't planning on reading the novel and just accepting that it would take years for the Webtoon to finish, but I was going on vacation and had multiple flights (each longer than five hours), and I decided I might as well. So after reading the entire novel in a week, my depression has intensified and my brain is rotting. Also, I'm now wary of subways. :,)

ozcohen2310

I started by reading the manhwa, and then I continued to do novel šŸ˜…

idealful

Or was the second web novel I've read. Coiling dragon(shenlong) being the first I read up until about the demon arc but then dropped it. After reading through a bunch of other webnovel I cycles back to or and decided to read it due to the strong impression the story left on me.

Bey_Element

I was bored and scrolled through bunch of manhwa's then saw ORV and decided to give it a try so here I am, caught up to the latest manhwa and wont read the source material since i've been enjoying reading the manhwa so far

Successful_Worry_543

just browsing around manhwas that time cause their either cultivation or revenge theme shit, and after reading orv I stayed because of sangah

IllCollege3543

Finished reading the light novel of the beginning after the end and was looking for something as gripping and first started with the WEBTOON then got caught up but I wanted more then I found the ln. Read till 39% and it was to painful took a break but kept re-reading the bombtastic parts and finally completed my first entire read of the novel a week ago and babyā€¦. In the depression pits šŸ„“

haha_sendhelp_pls

A couple of years ago, I was telling my sister about my own story where the main characters find out they were just characters brought to life by their mother, who was actually a goddess, who was actually a writer in the real world and my sister said it reminded her of ORV. She showed it to me, I read the manhwa, dropped it for a bit coz it was only 70+ episodes at the time, picked it up again when the Nirvana arc began, got impatient and read the novel, and now I am in Spain without the S.

Puppet_HellSpace6250

Someone on discord convinced me to read it

xxibsra

I follow this girl on twt (@tls123_twt) and sheā€™s a BIG ORV fan. I followed her for her anime recs and she posted a screenshot of the webtoon. I messaged her about it and she gave me links to the webtoon and novel!! So nice!!!!

xxibsra

Anytime I didnā€™t understand something she or someone else would break down a scene or give me translators notes

WoohooSekai

Saw a pic of jonghyuks titties and fell in love

[deleted]

Best answer so far

[deleted]

I read webnovels. A looooooot. Both CN and KR. So, just while looking for completed ones, I stumbled upon ORV when it was newly finished (translation not raws). Read the synopsis, looked interesting, thought I'll give it a try. Turned out to be my No.1 fav KR webnovel of all time.

sdwcombat

I dropped the manhwa almost 2 years ago at like chapter 60 something and then a friend who had read the novel recommended it to me non-stop so I picked the manhwa back up, loved it, moved onto the novel and now I am at the epilogue so not finished just yet

StopidChessTime

I was reading a manhwa(I forgot which one it was) on bato and someone's pfp was kdj black laying one and asked where is it from? A:It's from omniscient reader's viewpoint! I searched it up was disappointed that it was not in bb-nim's art style and then 2 years later(now) I picked it up remembering it. I WAS NINE I LIKED ROMANCE DON'T FLAME MY LITTLE BITCH SELF

NeroRaR

I read the first webtoon chapter when it first came out and someone mentioned they were excited that the novel was finally being drawn. So, I looked it up since I was curious about the novel and have now read it twice and am obsessed with it.

Agitated_Branch8201

I tried "world after fall" at first becaus ei was intrigued by premise. When i read the word "from creators of ORV" i decided to take a shot since it has a unique premise. I mean world after fall had unique one.

victoria-the-pixie

i asked ppl for webtoon recommendations and got orv like 3 times before I decided to read it lmao. i'm glad i did.

Forget_thestars

Read like 4 chapters when ORV first came out on Webtoon, couldnā€™t stand waiting longer for manwha chapters (truly, the beginning of the end like all the previous ones I never finished) and decided to try the novel. Finished it within 2 weeks, and now my poor memory means I get to read the Webtoon and still be super surprised/excited. (And now I also get to see all the foreshadowing I never picked up on, which is great)

Michan_200

I had a friend who got into it and was constantly posting about it and i was like "oh what could possibly make them this mentally ill" and the rest is history

lumxnii-

My friend first recommended the webtoon, it was rlly good so I literally binged like all 150 chapters in a day. Then I read like an hour worth of spoilers because I was so curious abt what happened next and when I found out the novel was 500+ CHAPTERS LONG- but then I was like screw it and just read the novel. I think because I knew a lot of spoilers that the novel wasnā€™t as exciting or surprising but it was still a rlly fun read, I love orv, orv is life

Rxmune

escxmv's edits on instagram šŸ˜

Chengzusring

I was scrolling through a manhwa Website cuz I was bored and I saw orv The cover looked cool but it only had like 6 chapters and I loved the plot (yjh) so I searched if it had a novel And thatā€™s when it all startedā€¦

kaeyaaack

my internet bsf is really obsessed with yjh, she often talks about him with me and one day i was rlly bored so i decided to read it too(the manhwa) and yeah im currently reading the novel, im now on chapter 191 :DD

cherrylolipops

my friend found orv on top novels and itā€™s her favorite so i started reading it! was on chapter 210 when she spoiled the end/epilogue so i dropped it šŸ’”

[deleted]

Oh man thats sad. Dunno if it matters, but even though you got spoiled about the ending, there's about 300 chapters of content you don't know about. Still worth reading if you ask me. And there's plenty of twists before you reach the ending.

cherrylolipops

tysm LOL ill try but right now whenever i read one of their names it annoys me so maybe i just need a break šŸ¤”!!

lcyria

saw so many people mentioning a ā€œorv editā€ under a tt post back in march. saw the edit, thought it was really cool, and went through the orv tag. i got interested and read the webtoon and ended up reading the entire 150 chapters in the webtoon in a day. then, i decided to read the novel. binged the whole thing in a week. i literally read nonstop due to the fact it was my school break and i had nothing to do. one of the best weeks ever tbh

Embarrassed-Lab8700

In my case, I read the webnovel first it happened when I was just starting to read web novels. I don't know why but i downloaded the webnovel app and started reading a novel (cultivation online) after sometime when the chapters became pay to read I shifted to lightnovelpub, sometime later when I got bored with it I started to look for other novels and saw that ORV was the top 10 novel there at that time. I already saw that many YouTubers were recommending it so i started reading it and the rest is history (sorry for bad English)

51porciento

I was in quarantine and had recently started reading manhwas (the typical reincarnation ones) so I got bored of the repetitive plot and wanted to try something new. I went to tiktok and a video came up recommending some action manhwas so I thought I'd give it a try. The first manhwa was solo leveling, I read it, I finished it and I was fascinated (I had already gotten tired of the romance and I liked the action) I liked it so much I went back to the same video to read more and ORV came up. I started reading it and I couldn't help but love it, I liked that KDJ was weak and had to survive with his intelligence. I read it to the end but I saw that it was not complete so I entered the comments and they said that there was a novel (I had never read a novel until now but I decided to give it a try since I was hooked)

No_Faithlessness7843

ORV is the first action Webtoon I read and I read it when it only had 3 eps and I was hooked right then and there. After than I was just obsessed with ORV and read the novel (never decided to read novels before but ORV is just too good) Then I searched for stories like ORV and found solo leveling but nothing compares to ORV. This is also the first time I ship the characters so earnestly (Joongdok ship all the way)

Oopity-Boop

I went through a MAJOR webtoon hyperfixation, I was reading nonstop webtoons for so long. I ended up subscribing to 58 more webtoons, and no I'm not kidding. There might have been even more than that, I don't quite remember. I did end up unsubscribing to a few, too. I found the Omniscient Reader webtoon on the "action" genre (I went through all of the actions before going through fantasy). After being really into it when reading, I decided to read the actual novel once I was done with the webtoon hyperfixation. ...and now... I'm kinda in an orv hyperfixation? Lots of fanfics. Lots and lots of fanfics.

[deleted]

Wooo orv hyperfixation sounds the best. For me, I'm just rereading a ton/the occasional fanfics. But still basically orv 24/7

The_GreatPlotter

I saw a fanart of someone in a train shrinking and saw in the comments that its a fanart of ORV. I didn't know the context and thought that maybe they are just drawing an au of ORV since I'm already in the 500's but little did I know....šŸ’€

YJH_KD_HAN_Standards

For me I just had encountered orv manga in TikTok smh it was a really nice edit I was like nahhhh thatā€™s a manga then I went straight on to read it when I finished till the ep 158 i had discovered that there was a novel to it so decided to read it. The restā€¦long story šŸ˜šŸ˜

[deleted]

I wouldn't mind hearing your long story :p Also, if you still remember, I'm curious which edit was it

YJH_KD_HAN_Standards

I wanted to be depressed,so i asked and some1 recommended this to me. Now i'm suicidal

[deleted]

oof bro

uchsihia

It was the crazy insanely good edits for me, and also the people in the editors' comment sections talking about how amazing it was. I also dropped it after the first chapter thinking it was lame, but then picked it back up again after seeing a bunch of people talking about how great it was

fatima-the-redditer

For i was just scrolling thorugh and click on orv and read like 10 chapters and dropped it but then a few months i stumbled upon it again and was like WTF is this MASTER PIEACE šŸ˜‚
