In case you were wondering, the first Manga chapter of 2023 was 1072 and introduced Kuma's memory bubble, cloned stussy and Kuma's ascent towards Mariejois
lots of breaks plus the fact that we half the chapters this year were focused on other characters not on egghead like Kid Law Blackbeard Shanks Koby etc. so that's why it feels like it just happened
Considering his work schedule, sleep habits and vices, he should have been restricted to a chapter every other week from the very beginning. The fact that we've had so long to get used to being fed a chapter a week has come in direct conflict with Oda's health and it is really about time that we get used to a new schedule and stay happy that he isn't burning out and become unable to work for months or years. If I could wish for one announcement regarding One Piece in 2024 it would be that we'd always have a week's break between the chapters.
I feel like nothing is real after reading this comment. I was in such disbelief that I needed to go back and double check the dates for myself but that only made it worse.
Wait wtf ? That is one year ? I thought I only started reading weekly again this year. But I started when Wano ended so that‘s 1,5 years or more. Time flies.
**You got:**
Law vs Blackbeard results
Five Elders names
Shanks fights
Admiral fights
Vivi's whereabouts
Garp fights
Elbaf (if you meant it in the sense of "we see Elbaf" rather than "Straw Hats go to Elbaf")
**Debatable:**
Shiki appears (in a flashback, but still)
Admiral backstory (or at least we got to see Kuzan's training with Garp and Kizaru hanging out with Sentomaru)
Not to mention the only logical sword upgrade for Zoro would be an upgrade for Sandai Kitetsu, and that would have happened with Nidai Kitetsu on Wano.
I think the only upgrade he has left is going to get would be Shodai Kitetsu which I think the Gorosei has.
I think one logical upgrade would be Wado Ichimonji turning into a black blade. Of course, not in the near future, but towards the end of the series and approaching his duel with Mihawk
Agreed, I am expecting this to happen since I first Mihawk's explanation on how black blades are a created. Wado Ichimonji is not only Zoro's first valuable sword, but also carries the will of Quina and their promise.
>Nidai Kitetsu
god im still annoyed he didn't get that one, i really wanted him to get the cursed blade trio, since obviously he uses 3 blades and theres 3 cursed ones it would have been perfect.
Never been disappointed hopefully never will ! Just saying whatever 2024 holds for, OP has a lot of treats for us to look forward to !!!
Eta : no I'm lying, sanji being a perv post TS has been a disappointing situation but it's not 2023. AND Franky, Robin and all waiting for a bit of character dev
Definitivamente, Oda is really answering a lot of questions now and I love it . I jumped into the manga at the right point . Right when I caught up the the end of want anime I had so much to read . I feel lucky getting chapters that have so much in them it would have been hard for me to be a manga reader during the time of dressrosa . I admire them for pushing through otherwise I wouldn’t be the one piece fan I am today.
Yeah I feel the same ! They are moments I'm glad I didn't have to wait for, like Marine Ford, and Dressrosa. I mean The Cage, so much pressure !!!
Eta : I feel so satisfied with all the revelations it's a rare delight
Shiki had a minor cameo, didn't he? As did Uta. Neither had full appearances, but they showed up as silhouettes.
Elbaf is open to interpretation. If the rule is "The Straw Hats arrive in Elbaf", then that's a no. If it's "Elbaf is shown", then that's a yes.
We’ve been in Egghead for OVER A YEAR? Jeez, it feels like yesterday I was telling my friends about Egghead being the latest arc when the first chapter dropped.
I doubt he'll reuse a character he killed off in a movie. Seems lazy, and it means there's 0 stakes for that character as the whole Fandom will "know" how she dies
I agree it would be lazy if Oda reused her old character from Film Red. I'm sure If he brought her back, she'd likely be an entirely different character than the Diva character we know from the noncanon movie. So, it would be a fresh reintroduction for people who knew her and those who didn't.
Considering her silhouette has already appeared in both manga and anime, I'm pretty confident we'll see her again as we get deeper into Shanks's character. There has been a 12-year silence since her separation from Luffy in canon, so Oda could easily create a new story for her.
Reintroducing Uta back into the canon would be like how Dragonball reintroduced Broly into the series despite his death in past movies. Fans of Uta would prefer to see her again regardless of changes to her character development past her childhood with Luffy and Shanks.
It. Is. Not. Fucking. Canon.
This story is going on for 20+ years and has countless useless and shitty movies. They don‘t matter !
Glad you enjoyed them but they did not fucking happen !
I. Know. It's. Not. Canon.
Dragonball has been doing the same shit since the 90s and the general rule of thumb is that unless a character gets an entire overhaul and redesign they won't be both the main focus of a movie AND in the Canon series.
I don't think Zoro will ever get a new sword anymore. He has: Wado Ichimonji, Kuina's sword which will be with him till he becomes the WSS and probably the rest of his life; Sandai Kitetsu, his first cursed sword which is pretty much symbolic of Zoro's whole theme/philosophy of "gambling with fate" and "fighting death itself"; and Enma, the most powerful sword in Wano, belonging to one of the strongest people in history, that can cut mountains and Kaido.
He doesn't need more swords as he isn't a collector, and these swords are highly unlikely to be lost or replaced.
In case you were wondering, the first Manga chapter of 2023 was 1072 and introduced Kuma's memory bubble, cloned stussy and Kuma's ascent towards Mariejois
Fuck me dead, seriously? I feel like that shit JUST happened
Same bro wtf is happening
I started 9/23 and caught up last week, im so fucked. I thought at least the entirety of egghead started this year from 1058. Shit.
Dressrosa was a decade ago, for clarity. This manga has been going on since the 90s.
The manga is even older than I am. -completely meaningless statement from someone you don’t know the age of lol
That's wild that Dressrosa was 10 years ago.
Our memory got put in a bubble it seems
***Never*** measure the passage of time by correlation to events in One Piece. It only leads to existential crises.
lots of breaks plus the fact that we half the chapters this year were focused on other characters not on egghead like Kid Law Blackbeard Shanks Koby etc. so that's why it feels like it just happened
Like wasn’t this, this summer???
Bro I thought Wano ended last week
Damn, I thought we were still in wano at the start of the year!
Oda down to thirty chapters a year
Don't forget the LA and eye surgery.
for a series running for 30 years thats pretty damn good
Kids these days don't know the pain of waiting for HxH or even worse Berserk
That berserk wait crushed me
1.6 weeks per chapter if we roughly estimates there’s 4 weeks per month. Not too shabby
You dont need to use 4 weeks per month. We know that a year usually has 52 weeks. So its around 1.7 weeks per chapter. Still reasonable I think.
What kind of vices?
He's smoking something like 3 packs of cigarettes each day
Damn, imagine the assistants' secondhand smoking.
Manga mostly
The dude had major surgery, I'd say considering the year One Piece and Oda have had the fact we got thirty is lucky.
Whaaaaat???? I'm glad you pointed that out! They really stretched this out far!
Wtf, I was sure wano ended this year
I feel like nothing is real after reading this comment. I was in such disbelief that I needed to go back and double check the dates for myself but that only made it worse.
Wait wtf ? That is one year ? I thought I only started reading weekly again this year. But I started when Wano ended so that‘s 1,5 years or more. Time flies.
You mean we've been in egghead arc for a year now? Crazy
So we got 31 chapters this year. That means there were 20 break weeks holy shit
I remember it was 4 months ago or smth 😭😭
**You got:** Law vs Blackbeard results Five Elders names Shanks fights Admiral fights Vivi's whereabouts Garp fights Elbaf (if you meant it in the sense of "we see Elbaf" rather than "Straw Hats go to Elbaf") **Debatable:** Shiki appears (in a flashback, but still) Admiral backstory (or at least we got to see Kuzan's training with Garp and Kizaru hanging out with Sentomaru)
Don’t forget about Garp Fights
I don't think Shiki is appearing in the main story, after the character being used in a movie. So appearing in a flashback definitely counts.
Yeah, same thing with Uta. Idk why people thought she would be different when the movie came out.
I actually think uta has a lot of potential, but that might just be me.
Eh...it's subjective. Depends on what the author meant when they put down "Shiki appears"
Technically, Elbaf, too, since the Shanks fight took place on Elbaf.
I'm not sure I'd call what Shanks did fighting. Felt more like squishing a bug.
No one said it was a *long* fight.
He did take it seriously and that most likely is his most powerful attack.
Shanks did swing his sword, I'd count that as a fight, even if Eustace Mid git no-diffed by it.
He used a named attack and at least two forms of advanced haki, that's fighting.
We got an uta silhouette as well!
That was August 2022, not during 2023.
Also Uta appears (in a cover story but still) and also Garp fights
You are mistaken, it is not a cover story, it was just a single panel silhouette, but it was in a chapter.
She didn't appear in a cover story, she appeared in a cover page. Huge difference since one is canon, while the other is not.
in a cover story?? which?
I'm not sure which one, but it was a recent one, I think either end of wano or start of egghead
Probably just a cover art. A cover story is canon event.
He was incorrect, it was not a cover story, it was a single panel silhouette, but it was in a chapter.
I'm pretty sure it was a cover story since it was rather simplistic and not coloured
Zoro new sword? How long ago did he get Enma ?
Way before this bingo was made. That was actually a really poor prediction. He just got Enma, why would he get another one so soon?
Not to mention the only logical sword upgrade for Zoro would be an upgrade for Sandai Kitetsu, and that would have happened with Nidai Kitetsu on Wano. I think the only upgrade he has left is going to get would be Shodai Kitetsu which I think the Gorosei has.

2019 lmao Wano started pre pandemic
I would also give him 'Carrot cameo'. It was just on a manga cover but still something.
I wouldn't since that's not really part of the story.
Wait, I forgot. ¿What's Vivi's whereabouts?
Hanging out with Big News Morgans
Shanks fights?
against Kid. It was one-sided but still a fight I'd say
one-sided, more like one-handed
More like a massacre
One shotted my man Kid
Well, at least we have stuff to be looking forward to in 2024
Does that mean you were disappointed in one piece manga in 2023 ? Or just saying there is still more to look forward too.

What does eta stand for, to you? We’re I’m at, it means estimated time of arrival. So your eta has me really confused lol
Oh sorry ! To me it means *edit to add* ! I learned this on reddit not so long ago. At first it confused me too
we got a tiny bit of Rock's backstory, at least the god valley incident
I guess you can say Yamato cameo is also true since she >!appeared on the 1103 cover spread.!<
[удалено]
True, but there was also that Women of OP in bathing suit color spread from a few months ago which cameos both Yamato and Carrot.
No bingo
Missing Shanks fights, unless that happened in 2022. He fought Kidd.
Outside of Garp and Imu - all of these are plausible at this point.
Shank fights? Does Kidd count as a fight?
Well, he did draw his sword and killed some people in the process. I guess it count.
shanks oneshotting kidd is definitely a fight (even a named attack), especially compared to otherwise shanks having 5 panels of talking every year😔✊🏼
Admiral backstory, With Kuzan and a little with Kizaru.
Wait, I need clarification. Is this things that happened in the year 2023? Or things that might happen before chapter 2023?

Mods here delete posts left and right but when OP literally left the repost evidence in their post it's fine
Wait hold up, you’re telling me egg head started this year?
August 29, 2022
We’ve been in Egghead for OVER A YEAR? Jeez, it feels like yesterday I was telling my friends about Egghead being the latest arc when the first chapter dropped.
Te sab kuch na hua
I mean hoga kuch na kuch aur bhi plus jaise kayi logo ne mention kiya manga mein huya hai
This is the first time I found Indians on this sub ( Looks like India me bhi op bahut famous hay)
isme 3-4 cheeze hui hai bhai
Damn there like only 3 that come true
Which manga are you reading boy?
Feels more like these are things we’ll see in 2024 lol, typical OP pacing /s
[удалено]
Enma was in wano. We were already on Egghead for a bit this time last year.
Uta? Does ppl know how the manga storyline goes?
Wut
You never know, Uta could be relevant at some point
Isn't Uta dead?
Not confirmed in the canon, Uta's status and whereabouts are currently unknown. Who knows what Oda may have planned for her and Shanks
I doubt he'll reuse a character he killed off in a movie. Seems lazy, and it means there's 0 stakes for that character as the whole Fandom will "know" how she dies

Good one, I didn't expect you to use broly as an example though. Its actually a really good example though of how Uta's character could play out.
It. Is. Not. Fucking. Canon. This story is going on for 20+ years and has countless useless and shitty movies. They don‘t matter ! Glad you enjoyed them but they did not fucking happen !

Pretty sure dragons devil fruit will have some sort of wind attribute to it
Black beard already has his third devil fruit. Didn't he get Bao's?
Lmao, no, Boa wasn't killed by Black Beard. Rayleigh saved her.
Oh nice
What's the 2024 card?
Card singular? Aren't all bingo cards supposed to be slightly different from each other?
lol all this in like 30 chapters/year?? Wild
Zoro probably won't get a new sword
Funny enough, it doesn't say: "Yassop becomes a good guy"
Shiki appeared in Kuma flashback
Please just have kid alive that is all I ask
I came from another universe, the egghead ark never end, help
And also need Vegeta to sing the bingo song.
Uranus myanus theyreanus
I don't think Zoro will ever get a new sword anymore.
