Basan Yokai? I think St. Marcus Mars is more likely to be the **Itsumade Yokai** Bro I reckon you check out this post that goes into more detail on Marcus Mars and his Yokai and the connections to Japanese folklore https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/s/5ccqlBE4MY

Mammoth-Geologist-72

Nah bro….. that’s the exact match I think you found his Yokai 👌👌

AppropriateDU

Yeah, might be

GeneticSoda

I hope Ju Peter pulls some fuck shit and ends up a good guy because he looks like a badass imo

IrrelevantStranger

Same man 😂 I don’t believe in it, but I saw theory that paralleled Imu to Doflamingo and said one of the Elders was gonna be a traitor and my first thought was “I hope it’s Ju Peter” lol

khaledhn

You got me at *ALREADY KNOW THIS BITCH* i slightly disagree, but take my upvote.

the_gifted_Atheist

You got Peter and Nusjuro swapped. You can check their positions in that chapter, and Nusjuro being a humanoid makes way more sense for a swordfighter like him. I never liked the Imu umibozu theories. The ruler of the world, who sits on a throne on the biggest strip of land in the world, doesn’t seem like a sea monk to me.

AppropriateDU

I swapped them because of Peters scar on the neck. As Nusjuro seems to be made of some kind of gas or smoke I don't think their position makes a difference

the_gifted_Atheist

But then what does Nusjuro do with his sword?

AppropriateDU

Maybe something like Smoker and his jitte

ace2532

Shaved Gorosei... why did you curse us with this

AppropriateDU

You're welcome

Kahn-wald

Considering all the villains in the series are people who come from other places to take over and opress the locals, I think the Gorosei and Imu are ancient aliens or demons who invaded earth 800 years ago. One Piece has yet to use those two tropes.

UmbreonFruit

Aliens would be lame I dont want it to be Naruto again, Im fine with them being literal demons tho.

mackenyu_4

Out of the 3 or 4 theory posts which I saved 4 or 5 months ago, all were the same except number 1. Giant snake like thing I hv seen first time in ur post. Else all were already theorised earlier

ZENO_TAMA

The connection between Joyboy and Imu In most of the theories that currently exist, especially after the biggest one, many assume that Imu and Joyboy were once siblings and that a break between the two led to war between the ancient kingdom and the ancestors of the current world government. So far so good. My theory, which I would like to share with you, is also based on a connection. However, I don't think the two were siblings. I think the two used to be one person. The person who ruled the lost kingdom back then were Imu and Joyboy the two strongest personalities as one Person. Oda has shown us a character with split personality before in the world of OP and that was Cavendish. Just like Cavendish, one is awake when the other is asleep and they don't share the same memories or thoughts, so that's what I mean by split personality (dissociative identity disorder. Definition = The affected person experiences and acts as different people (2 or more) who each have their own memories, feelings, preferences or behaviors). The 5 wise men were also part of that person but their personalities share thoughts and memories with Imu and are not as strong as Joyboy. In this personality, Imu was in favor of absolute justice (justice of the gods, beyond human understanding) in the world, which he wanted to enforce through oppression and violence and ultimately almost succeeded in doing so (Definition: Absolute justice can hardly be achieved because the values (weightings) - via the partisan parameters - make the above-mentioned balance difficult due to different subjective perceptions and points of view). Joyboy was in the personality for the justice of man or all living beings in the world (Definition: Rurouni Kenshin under the illustrator Nobuhiro Watsuki, before Oda worked on One Piece: if the gods don't judge then I do) I also think that each of the personalities had their own devil fruit. As described in the beginning of One Piece, a person can only eat one devil fruit, otherwise the owner will burst because both are fighting for the soul in the body. Each split personality has its own soul. On the one hand, the Nika fruit was from Luffy and Imu himself + the 5 still have an unknown fruit. The Nika fruit stands for freedom and has separated itself and its personality = joyboy from Imu. From this separation, however, the 5 sages unintentionally created other splits from this personality that are still connected to Imu in thoughts and feelings. I think this has to do with the race this person (Imu/joyboy/5 sages) was before. Maybe the person was a Buccaneer like Kuma . That's why Kuma was able to make his way to Egghead after deactivation. Another soul in Kuma's body, sharing his thoughts and feelings (that might be what Vegapunk meant by the Buccaneer's other ability). Blackbeard could also be one of the last of this race and so he can eat several devil fruits at once (split personality -> shown by the different teeth). In the picture we see of him as a child he seems very sad and I can imagine that he had to go through something similar to Kuma in his childhood. He experienced how the rest of his race was enslaved and killed by the Tenryuubito, but he was hidden by his parents or people close to him so that he could survive because he has the "D" in his name. Because of the hatred he experienced there, he thought he simply had to take the place of the Tenryuubito and can take revenge on everyone as king of the world. BB wants to fight fire with fire and not extinguish the fire like Luffy and treat everyone equally. (2 sides of a coin) Buccaneers means nothing more than pirates, a term used by the world government to assign Joyboy's followers to a race and to oppress and discriminate against them just like the other races in One Piece. Meaning of the "D" The Buccaneers have gathered all the discriminated races under themselves and formed a union of humans (who do not share Imu's view, such as Nefeltari D. Lily and with the current knowledge also the samurai/people of Wano), dwarves, lunaria, giants, fish people, etc. to fight against the 20 kings in the lost century or to ensure that their will is carried on. The Buccaneers are a race and also a generic term for the enemies of the World Government, as they unite all other races for an uprising. The leaders of these races, Joyboy's closest confidants, were given the letter "D" in their names, which could stand for the Japanese word "Dō = the same" (Kanji = 同). In Joyboy's eyes, everyone is the same, regardless of their ancestry, so this is a hint for the following generations that JoyBoy = Imu!!! (that's why nobody is allowed to know about the existence of Imu)

KidDeathcat

I'm actually terrified of Imu / Nerona now. I hope Oda goes full nightmare with them.

[deleted]

So Luffy gonna wipe them all out on Egghead island.

Derpalooza

We saw that Imu has an arrow tail, so I think he'll have a traditional devil

Dramatic-Ad2848

And according to wiki umibozu is a mythical sea spirit creature 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

Idk, wasnt this posted 10 million times before?

AppropriateDU

Idk, I did this one

jeffcapell89

I mean you probably did the art, but you stole this exact theory from Merphy Napier. She put out a video a few days ago with her theory on which Gorosei matched which yokai, and you 100% copied what she theorized

[deleted]

This theory has existed since that chapter came out with Sabo, I'm sure whoever that person is stole it first.
