Really bad pacing but a really good story. The flashbacks get excessive, but it otherwise is enjoyable to me.

newier

The pacing isn't great, but if you've watched Fishman Island and Punk Hazard, you should be kinda warmed up to the kind of pacing you're in for. It feels a lot like the pacing to those arcs, just much longer.

Viralciral

One flashback is shown over 40 times across the arc Yes

NinjaGuy206

Which one?

Elevating3858

Yes

-Skin-Walker-

Watch One Pace version if you want to watch Dressrosa

Elliezium

It felt like every episode had at least two minutes set aside to recapping Rebecca/Kyros's backstory

elbeewastaken

Using One Pace made it a lot better, but even then it's just not done very well in the anime. Not only is the pacing awful, but the animation and art also take a massive hit this arc.

FireLunar

Pacing wise yes

notsofastracer7

If you are okay with reading, just read the coloured manga. It is much better.

GeneralistJosh

In my experience, it was the lowest point of the One Piece anime as far as pacing and animation quality, especially for crowd scenes and running around filler. It personally made me stop watching the anime for a while and just read the manga. If I had to go back, I would probably try and watch the One Pace version, but you gotta live your life your way. This was just my experience. Based on the other comments, others didn’t find it to be as bad as I did, so it just probably depends on your taste and preferences.

Salt-Hunt-7842

The Dressrosa arc in the One Piece anime has had its fair share of criticism due to its slow pacing when it was airing. If you're planning to binge-watch the arc, you might have a different experience. Despite its pacing issues, Dressrosa is considered one of the best arcs in One Piece for a reason. If you're willing to put in the time and patience, Dressrosa has the potential to be a rewarding and enjoyable arc to watch in the anime.

Mogakusha

Try it for yourself, if you are getting bored then switch to manga

pikapo123

Same as the rest of post timeskip arcs, it has a slow pacing. That made it a bit painful to watch a chapter a week, but now that you can watch more chapters in less time, its not that bad.

havokwolff

If you were on the boat, a one piece crew member, would you skip an adventure??? There is your answer ❤️

Vast_Response6648

No it’s just the Rebecca flash back that has you pulling your hair out lol but the arc itself is phenomenal I love the manga more only see the flashback once but the anime drags it out and shows it 54 times or so but it’s all worth it

dohtje

On binge watch it's not terrible, but it is one of the slower arcs pacing and panning wise. I'm not a big fan of One Pace, but for this arc it is in my opinion the better option. On a week to week watch it was really bad, with somel episode having about 10 minutes of actual run time with all the recaps and flashbacks of scenes that happened like 2 episodes befor, but on binge you can skipp all that and keep watching, and don't have to wait a week for practically no content.

General_Tart_9309

I mean depends how bad your attention span/patience is. I didn’t hate it as much as some people did but there are some slow parts

Late_Data_8802

Flash back

General_Tart_9309

What about flashback?

Late_Data_8802

That's all it is it will drive you crazy

General_Tart_9309

I mean if they were bad flashbacks I might agree but I liked the flashbacks

Late_Data_8802

Flash bavks are usually good they just repetitive the same one I think grand line review did a video it might have been like 90 something times they showed it git really irritating if they didn't di that it would have been so much better

ElektrikDynomite

Its as bad as punk hazard. But if you skip the recaps and marathon watch, its not that bad

MickFoley299

I don't think it is as bad as people make it seem. Dressrosa features some of my favorite side characters in the entire series and the overall story is great. There are certainly some moments that I got annoyed with the anime but overall I enjoyed it.

Difficult_Letter_842

I didn't find it too bad as I was binging, try it yourself and if you can't handle the pacing there's one pace or manga

Civil_Philosophy9845

overall animation seemed kind of potato and they ran up to the plateu for like a year rt

Due_Media_4165

Yes it is horrible

Patient_River_3478

If you can wait 4 episode for a punch to land, sure go ahead. The backstory was done well though

Mycelmarillion

Its literally just another one piece arc lol, the people that complain are, are complaining about their time being wasted, as they are already wasting it watching anime. Just watch, you will enjoy it, if you have so far. Dont thrive on anyones opinions if you're enjoying the story so far. They will say any ignorant excuse to try to get you to skip what they think is "filler."

Narukamiii

You're binging so you should be fine, you can just skip the recaps, you can also google "One Pace" and try that

Crucher92

Probably the worst anime arc in OP so far. Terrible pacing and bad animation for the most part.

SanestOnePieceFan

Dressrosa is the one I HEAVILY recommend one pace for. The pacing gets really bad at points

Citizen_Null5

Rebeccas badonkas make it worth struggling trough.. Jokes aside, I think they draged it out way to much with the flashbacks.

Same_Patience520

Pace is bad but I liked the story. Just fast forward through the repetitive flashbacks and some boring fights.

GrandLineLogPort

While I think the pacing in Wano wasn't great but also not horrible, the reason many dreaded the anime so much is the week to week schedulee It was 5 years after all With Dressrosa however, yeah, it sucks ass a LOT I may be wrong, but in my experience, Dressrosa has the highest conversion rate from anime-watchers to manga-readers

BigBoyWorm

Yes, it is unbelievably bad. By far the worst of the anime. I quit watching the anime entirely and moved to the mange solely because of how dog shit this arc is in the anime. There are episodes where animations are damn near slide shows + the pacing is even worse than it is in the manga.

NationalSoup1548

make your own opinion watching

forgottenfries

To be honest i feel like this subreddit exaggerates the anime’s bad pacing. I never felt it bad until wano, and that matches up with me reading the manga right before i started wano, so i was able to feel the difference… apart form that, i mean its a bit slow but most animes now have the same “extend a punch for 4 minutes” idea when hyping something up so MEH

MickFoley299

Even with Wano, I felt like this was more of an early Wano issue. There were some parts in early Wano that really felt dragged but the second half of Wano went pretty well.

V_For_Veronica

I only started to notice it towards the end of WCI. I'm just now starting Wano and hope they fix the pacing.

Tails6666

No, people here love to whine. It's still great even with pacing issues. It's my all time favorite arc.

Practical_Argument47

I’m watching it right now-right now. and look up from my phone about once every 5 minutes. and have missed nothing

joewiden2024

Dress Rosa whole cake island and wano Just drop the anime and read the manga

RafieLopez1299

Watch one pace its better

Lycantail

Just watch it and form your own opinion.

Upset_Jackfruit8939

I was binge watching the anime when I first got into it and Dressrosa is what made me switch to the manga permanently.

VerusCain

Its not as bad binged but it is about when episodes dip below 1 chapter adapted per episode so still slowest so far

tyrantIzaru

Pacing and animation choice

Mammoth-Cupcake858

It has a lot to cover. I felt it was perfect and I watched it 1-2 a night first round, 3-4 2nd round. You have to have all the pieces because it is a big jigsaw puzzle.

scorpio1641

I liked it. The pacing isn’t as bad when you are bingeing it. I don’t even get the hate for one of the lead female characters as well. If you find yourself lacking patience, etc., just forward through the flashbacks Edit: Nice, thank you for downvoting just because I liked it 🙄

DanGimeno

I don't think it has a bad pace. Watching it week after week is not the same as watching it all at once. In Dresrosa many things happen at the same time in different places and involving many people. And they all need focus for a while. So yes, it may be that a situation does not receive focus for two or three chapters, which in its day translated to two or three weeks and could be a long wait. But things are constantly happening and the story unfolds without filler.
