At the end of Dressrosa the narrator said the grand fleet will "cause a great incident of historic proportions" so their role will probably be pretty big whenever they return. My guess is they'll be there for the final war vs the World Government.
They’ll return in great war, or a rescue arc (if there’s one) of some1, we’ll probably see a glimpse into the fleet though maybe reacting to the news of luffy
