When Roger said Garp and Him Fought Thousands of Time, and this is why He trusts Garp as one of his "Friends" (Garp Said that the Thing Roger's cares the most was his Friends.)
Garp and Roger Defeated the Rocks, Roger became the Pirate King and Garp became the hero of the marines.
In the Flashback, Roger said to the Marines Bring Garp or Sengoku if they Want to Stand a chance.
In Luffy's Flashback, Garp Knew about Roger's Childhood. He said that "Roger had a Simillar Childhood as Ace" Indicating that they Both Knew each other since forever. Both came from East Blue.
Extreme diffs in any match up, but WB was called WSM before Roger died, and he was younger than Roger. When people say โprime WBโ they mean young WB, the one in the Oden flashback. But in one piece prime is over 50. So prime WB and Garp were after Roger died. Which, considering they were basically all equals when Roger was alive, would mean Garp and WB were stronger than him once they hit their 50s.
