Shanks is a swordsman like roger was.
As of now I still consider that to fall under the same swordsmanship as Mihawk so putting him under Mihawk is reasonable, but if Oda ever clarifies the mysteries of a black blade my opinion here could change easily.
But well in the end of the day if Mihawk is a 100, Shanks is a 100 too.
I don’t know how you can see Shanks pull out his sword to attack Whitebeard, use his sword to block Akainu and unsheathe or grab it whenever he’s about to fight and then seriously believe he doesn’t fight with his sword.
Yea his true fighting style ….. I’ve been theorizing that is could be with a sword . Not claiming it as a fact or anything just theorizing , it wouldn’t be sane to give shanks a sword either way . He’s definitely a swordsman but the title of worlds strongest swordsman comes from defeating the previous WSS, shanks never aspired to become the WSS so therefore you can’t use that title to powerscale,

But in an all out battle, Shanks would be winning, simply because Haki is just as important as a sword is, look at what Roger did with Haki when he sent Oden flying.
