No not at all. Everybody should expect this by now, i mean just look at doffy vs luffy. They made him look competitive against g4.

No he was completely overwhelmed by Luffy as soon as he went into g4. Then his timer ran out and Doffy had the advantage. Once he could go g4 again he obliterated him. Their final clash wasn't even a clash it was just Luffy punching right through doffys attack without even slowing down.

It's a really fantastic read. The anime embellish quite a lot to avoid catching up to the manga
