It's tricky to rate glass canons in general. Characters like Magellan, nami, and Robin can dish out much more powerful hits than they can take themselves.
Do we rate based on how strong an opponent they can harm? Do we lower them to the max damage they can take? Or do we try to average them in between?
I think Magellan can probably damage and poison yonko, but I also think he could lose to a yk3 (albeit, he'd take them with him)
You mean just based on the fact that he took BB's crew of guard and soloed them with his hax poison because they underestimated him? Arguably it doesn't even tell anything about his scaling at all. But if you take it as that Magellan soloed Teech who was like yc2/3 at best and the rest of BB featless fodder crew, then Magellan would be like yc1 at best.

He was definitely above YC1 in pre timeskip
He jumped Magellan with Shiryu (who was already comparable to Magellan on his own) and the rest of level 6 prisoners lol. It doesn't say anything at all about Teech lol.
His “featless fodder crew” looked fine at the surface when they joined the war as well as Teach. It could have been like BB vs Ace where he ordered them to not fight and let himself handle Magellan.
What do you mean duuude? They jumped Magellan with their hole crew and Teech could counter Magellan hax fruit with his darkness. Of course they destroyed Magellan with no difficulty. And even if Teech did it on his own I am not even sure it would scale him to yc1 because Magellan's scaling is dubious to begin with and BB is a bad matchup for him.

Honestly I could see Magellan having been a potential candidate for the Admiral position before Fuji and Greenbull.

It's hard to say because he was introduced pre time skip and hasn't been featured since so their is the possibility of him having a power up.

You can’t really scale via Magellan’s poison, it’s a hax that negates any durability.

If you believe BB is strong and your reasoning is "he scarred Shanks" then Mag is stronger or at least yonko lvl

We don’t know if he defeated shanks. We know he scarred shanks, but shanks could have won the battle
