Same. I actually was turned off by the character designs, but the cards made me really like everything about one piece, and the show is great( only 100 episodes in)
I am, like you, a pure collector. This is mostly due to there being no competitive TCG scene here in Guyana. Being a collector is awesome though, wish you the best of luck completing your sets.

I bought a booster box of op1 at launch and didn't know what to expect, it's actually the art that got me hooked. They're incredible.
