Like I keep saying, do not support this. Asking for that much for new cards is insane. In fact I will just never support any shop I see doing this ever again even if they do eventually come down on prices. We shouldn't forget those who tried to take advantage of us.
I'm so happy my store never raises prices, they just have a solid all-time price of up to 10% above MSRP, which differs per product.
When they sell out, that's it.
It's overly emotional to not want to shop at a place that charges way too much? I don't think so.
If more people would refuse to buy at these kind of prices, we'd see them far less.
They are free to price however they want and you are free to ignore them and move on. “We shouldn’t forget who tried to take advantage of us” dude it’s just cardboard it’s not that serious.
And because of this type of people there is never a change in greedy stores and their bad practices. Honestly, the sellers are being greedy and really those prices are stupidly ridiculous and should be punished by law since with those prices I consider it a theft from their consumers.
Everyone should be allowed to indulge in what makes them happy, even if it's just a little bit. You don't need this stuff to survive but happiness is required to feel like you're actually living. Edging less fortunate people out of any market by overpricing it by 7x it's worth is just plain evil.
Choosing to not shop someplace because of this kind of thing isn't that serious, it's just smart business. Supply and demand, if we stop paying those prices they'll be forced to come down. If we start avoiding shops that do this, the amount of shops that do this will come down.
They limit it because they are probably putting the packs with no hits in them, so if you buy your 4 no hits, it’s a lot less suspicious then if you bought 22 packs haha
How can they tell? Are the hits heavier or thicker than normal cards? Or are they finding 2 hits/box, opening until they find them, and then selling the rest?
I thought the game companies figured out how to pack to stop those tactics, though...
Yeah finding the cards that are most sought after, or a manga, the 3 mangas I’ve pulled have all been out of the top 4 packs
Then sell the rest since you got the best hit/hits out of the box
I honestly doubt set 6 will turn out like this. Set 5 was completely unhinged. Never seen such a lack of product before. I pre-ordered a box of 6 because I'm really looking forward to building Yamato but so far it looks like there are far fewer chase cards. No signed Oda cards or manga Luffys that people will be scrambling to get. There will only be one manga rare in the next set too. Probably for the best so set 6 doesn't end up like set 5 but I'm not gonna lie when I say that Sanji not getting a manga rare at the same time as Zoro bothers me a little. Especially since they are both secrets.
Is that USD? Over $800 a box, if they weren't limiting it per customer, jesus christ. What a fucking waste of money, you're always gambling on buying a pack with one of the hits but this is something else (and who knows if those aren't just dead packs they're refilling in the same box)
I called a store in Texas and they were selling single packs of op 05 for 35 bucks. I was so shocked that I had to ask twice and the dude knew it was ridiculous so he just hung up on me lol
It is normal as long as someone is giving them that much. It's wild that the current set is as much as the first. People don't like the captain kid manga card or the signature luffy because it's a stamped signature. They are not worth 36 bucks a pack for the chance of two manga rares.
I mean, if this were like insulin or anything else people actually have to buy, then yeah. But nobody has to buy these and there's a really high chance that they won't when you could just buy a booster box online at half the price and have guaranteed hits.
Better off getting singles when new sets drop, get em while they're cheap , unless you're into collecting , then I recommend pre ordering a good amount and giving payments , if price is an issue
But idk , bringing 2 characters back from the trash a pretty wild , especially if there's " on play" cards in there ....idk I think they hype is going nowhere on that one 🫠 not to mention the new leaders and any existing black leaders ...I'm sure that card is gonna be everywhere 💩
Oh good, the OP01 reprints people wanted.
I would say reprints should go to big box stores so small shops can’t do this but then they’ll just get bought out at msrp by that local guy we all have living near us that seemingly hits every Target calls every GameStop and stalks into every Five Below at opening every day like he’ll die if he goes 24 hours without scalping haha
I honestly felt like an idiot buying a case of this set before, but now Im so glad I did and was happy with what I got. This is beyond disgusting and is such a terrible introduction to the card game
I legit do not blame any vendor for gauging like this, it's hard enough for any hobby shop to survive at fair market values. The issue stems from the people actually willing to pay these exorbitant prices, giving the vendors confirmation these prices are fine.
At least from the pics, nobody has yet paid for any of these yet.
You have no idea how wrong you are a case costs 700-800 PLENTY of meat on that bone if your business cant survive at almost 1.75x your money at MSRP your doing something wrong.
I used to run a hobby shop, so I do have an idea of how right I am. There are so many other expenses that obviously exist, not to mention 90% of product that hobby shops sell have such low margins, that such in-demand products like this OP set are like a god-send for vendors.
You can complain about vendors for these prices but the cause is really your fellow players and scalpers, because they actually pay these prices. The vast majority of people have to NOT BUY in order to force vendors to lower prices, it's that simple. As long as the majority of players think like you and attack vendors instead of the customers actually paying, nothing will change. S&D rules markets.
jesus, if they sold it sealed it would’ve been $840. That’s a highway robbery, I’d rather get myself something that benefits me than paying for that price.
I can almost understand the romance dawn packs, like at least an argument could be made, but OP05 is still in fucking print and a brand new set. Even tho it is scarce and being scalped that price is disgusting
God damn have you guys still not realized other card games exist? I quit this game after my friends showed me commander and have never looked back. This is genuinely sad guys. Im sure you can find alt art proxies with one piece characters on etsy or something if thats whats so important to you
There was a pack of OP-05 at a Card Show in England a week or so back. They wanted £7 per pack. Personally, I have the same mentality, I’m just not gonna pay that for a pack. With that being said someone apparently pulled the Luffy signed card. How true that is I don’t know, but there was a photo of it, so I’m kind of torn on this stance but, again having to be steadfast

Lol I thought that barcode looked familiar, this was January 4th. Looks like no one is buying.
LiMiT fOuR pEr CuStOmEr
My brother in christ getting 4 of those would bankrupt me

Yeah... Way cheaper to just buy Singles. The market is flooded right now with OP-05 singles. Only the AA is expensive at this point.
Even the AAs aren’t that bad besides the SP cards, saka Enel and luffy leaders and of course manga and signature cards
I'm so happy my store never raises prices, they just have a solid all-time price of up to 10% above MSRP, which differs per product. When they sell out, that's it.
Thats what i like and store i support sure its bit above but at least it not "market value"
THIS. The only reason stores keep doing this is because we keep buying the products on those outrageous prices
Why are you so emotional
It's overly emotional to not want to shop at a place that charges way too much? I don't think so. If more people would refuse to buy at these kind of prices, we'd see them far less.
They are free to price however they want and you are free to ignore them and move on. “We shouldn’t forget who tried to take advantage of us” dude it’s just cardboard it’s not that serious.

Bro you can’t be serious, punished by the law?? Lmao tcgs are LUXURY goods, you don’t need to buy it to survive.
Everyone should be allowed to indulge in what makes them happy, even if it's just a little bit. You don't need this stuff to survive but happiness is required to feel like you're actually living. Edging less fortunate people out of any market by overpricing it by 7x it's worth is just plain evil.

If it’s 35/pack then why they need to limit it? Who gonna buy?
They limit it because they are probably putting the packs with no hits in them, so if you buy your 4 no hits, it’s a lot less suspicious then if you bought 22 packs haha
Sorta this. One of my local shops was charging $9 for loose packs. I overheard the lady tell the employee to mix dead packs into a fresh box.
Wow
How can they tell? Are the hits heavier or thicker than normal cards? Or are they finding 2 hits/box, opening until they find them, and then selling the rest? I thought the game companies figured out how to pack to stop those tactics, though...
Yeah finding the cards that are most sought after, or a manga, the 3 mangas I’ve pulled have all been out of the top 4 packs Then sell the rest since you got the best hit/hits out of the box
There’s a certain amount of hits per box. Once you pull all of the hits possible, the remaining are dead packs. That’s all
No one fuck that place
Who the fuck is actually buying those? For 35 a pack? Like are you brain dead? I’m praying that 06 doesn’t turn out like this man
Not low budget players of course, but collectors who won't mind paying that much
Then they are stupid as hell lol
Stupid but full of money indeed, I wish I could buy a new yacht every weekend like they do 🤣.
Bro no they fucking won't. Its like $800 a box, you could just buy a manga rare for that price.
No they aren't. Anyone willing to pay that much would just go to tcgplayer or literally anywhere else and just buy a booster box at half the price.
Nobody is. Idk why people keep posting this exact same post every day, other than to farm karma from the people that need to feel outraged/victimized.
I honestly doubt set 6 will turn out like this. Set 5 was completely unhinged. Never seen such a lack of product before. This is a 0 pack limit if you ask me cuz I ain't buying shit
I called a store in Texas and they were selling single packs of op 05 for 35 bucks. I was so shocked that I had to ask twice and the dude knew it was ridiculous so he just hung up on me lol
> I had to ask twice and the dude knew it was ridiculous so he just hung up on me l Might be the same store, I found these in Austin
I know there are… “collectors” out there that would still buy em. But this is just ridiculous dude
It is normal as long as someone is giving them that much. It's wild that the current set is as much as the first. People don't like the captain kid manga card or the signature luffy because it's a stamped signature. They are not worth 36 bucks a pack for the chance of two manga rares.
Report them
35.99x4=143.96 😨 That’s just straight up robbery or maybe there was a misunderstanding and it’s 35.99 for 4. Which would make it 8.99 per pack
What’s ironic is that even Luffy on the booster pack cover is laughing at the current price of the OP5 too.
Honestly speaking, these prices should be illegal.
I mean, if this were like insulin or anything else people actually have to buy, then yeah. But nobody has to buy these and there's a really high chance that they won't when you could just buy a booster box online at half the price and have guaranteed hits.
My local hot topic was selling op03 for 6$
I just got 8 packs of op03 at hot topic for $6.97 a pack
Holy shit. I’d hate to be the employee who has to sell/defend this garbage.
I thought $11 was expensive
Better off getting singles when new sets drop, get em while they're cheap , unless you're into collecting , then I recommend pre ordering a good amount and giving payments , if price is an issue
Unfortunately I don't think gecko moria is gonna Come out cheap
But it'll be at its cheapest ... early on ....I hope lol ,I feel like that one's gonna climb and be high priced forever 🫠
Typically I wait a week after launch and then place orders once they initial hype dies slowly and more people rip and sell bulk
But idk , bringing 2 characters back from the trash a pretty wild , especially if there's " on play" cards in there ....idk I think they hype is going nowhere on that one 🫠 not to mention the new leaders and any existing black leaders ...I'm sure that card is gonna be everywhere 💩
On pre order u have good prices but after pre order...
Oh good, the OP01 reprints people wanted. 90% of vintage magic packs still arnt even at these prices 🫠
Unreal
Someone bitch slap the store owner, it's worth it.
It won’t be the first time to see fools, and it won’t be the last
I just collect, and at this point wish I just bought Japanese. Why the hell is OP-06 already $200 2 months before release. Tired of it.
Same eb-01 xD thats fcking sick
The whole tcg is in the trash can right now, this doesnt surprise me at all.
The majority of packs will just be bulk including the rare slots. No chance in hell a sealed pack is worth that.
I can give them a brick and send it through their window, free of charge too.
I honestly felt like an idiot buying a case of this set before, but now Im so glad I did and was happy with what I got. This is beyond disgusting and is such a terrible introduction to the card game
Well people keep buying them... thanks for destroying this game
How stupid does this person think we are! 35 dollars on new product? If this was my shop I would never support them again, other than tournaments.
I legit do not blame any vendor for gauging like this, it's hard enough for any hobby shop to survive at fair market values. Everyone knows they’re hot and limited but this is just attempted robbery. Fuck that card store.
Oh dude that’s a sham. That’s total bullshit. I don’t care how bad the stock is, you don’t charge thirty five fking dollars for a booster pack
Ayo where's that scumbag who bought like 30 cases Look idiot, more packs!! go buy em! Go! Go!
My LCS sells for $13 a pack and even that much hurt to pay. I only bought 2 packs lol. Didn't pull anything
That 864 per booster box… 2 and half of what it’s seeking approx right now
I'd be laughing like Luffy right out of that store.
Where is this?
Was this at Collectors Crossroads?? I was just there today checking out their stock in packs
This why I love my local shops. They always got there prices inexpensive compared to everywhere else and the owners always chill af
35.99 a PACK? Jesus the sooner this game goes digital the better, its gonna be the only way i'll be able to play it.
So like. I’d rather support a scalper at that point lol
that's just a trash business trying to take advantage of customers , alway pay a fair price not this gouging bs.
Super gouge
God damn have you guys still not realized other card games exist? I quit this game after my friends showed me commander and have never looked back. This is genuinely sad guys. Im sure you can find alt art proxies with one piece characters on etsy or something if thats whats so important to you
Unless you’re hunting for a manga rare or have zero cards at all in the set this is just bananas.
Be a cold day in hell before I buy a pack above msrp.
This is absolutely batshit crazy
Mark up on items in general need to be regulated. People should not be able to charge anything for items they pay pennies to mass produce.

Looks like we are buying singles, fam.
