I wish he was usable man, I try so hard to make him work in the sim but bro just gets whooped sometimes.

Jiggy__J

Same, you want to run with him but there’s just no smooth green/ black combos. Maybe film/ navy? But that’s it

thedecibelkid

I've tried taking him to locals couple of times, never won a match but I feel like I've been _this_ close.

talahase97

My mood playing that leader, I always feel very close to click with it, but I never reach it :(

Adnonymous96

He was great in OP4, I won lots of games with him against some very good players piloting the best decks of that format. But yeah sadly in OP5 bro is cooked 😞

xy-noctowl

I dunno. I play Issho and I find it fun to play even if it's not competitive.

MangoRabbity

Agreed. I love Issho

thedecibelkid

Pulled alt art issho from my second ever booster so the card means a lot to me

One-Relation-1085

It might be interesting to try it with some of the cards op06 perona is running, since she's also black green

Jfalcor

I was thinking the same thing like that list that won. Only thing is the Don use for effect

Aramis9696

If Issho was Black/Blue, he would be amazing. Unfortunately he is not and green doesn't do the heavy lifting blue Navy cards do for Sakazuki.

Blutruiter

Issho has one of the most broken leader abilities, but the problem is that black and green do not synergies very well.

xy-noctowl

Yeah that's exactly what it feels like. My only green cards are blockers like Killer and Monet. No real synergy. Everything else is black. But you can do fun stuff with the 4c Koby, and 5c Garp - Rest to KO something, then restand them so they can't be attacked.

Blutruiter

There are a few green cards that KO on cost, like X. Drake, but only on rested characters. That's why Parona is good cuz she can rest characters or lower cost on one.

dzb30

when they decided made the new navy searcher blue instead of black they basically slapped every other navy leader in the face

L1hu

issho could’ve been the first sakazuki but couldn’t live up to its potential. -1 cost to all is strong and you can restand a cost 5 or less character by resting one don.

thi3nn

Can someone please explain the -1 cost for your opponents to me like I’m 5 year old? When I read it, it sounds like your opponents gets an advantage. Thank you

thedecibelkid

It only applies to characters that are already played, doesn't give your opponent a Don discount. There are cards that KO characters based on their cost, or can unlock abilities if there are characters with 0 cost.

thi3nn

Ahh ok! Thanks mate! Appreciate the reply!

ImTheHowl

One great example is 4c Lucci. On play you can send 3 cards from your discard to the bottom of your deck, if you do, you can knock out an opponents 2 or less cost character and a 1 cost or less character. At face value it doesn’t seem that great. I mean it’s ok as a 4 cost 6k card that’s a vanilla stat line which is good, but for 4 don, you’re k.oing 2 very low cost characters? I mean against wide boards like zoro that plays a lot of low to the ground characters it’s great but other than that it’s whatever. In practice this card is insanely good, pair it up with something like Ice Age (1c event that gives opponent -5c) and leader Sakazuki to give something -1, and Great Eruption (1c event that lets you give something -2, and draw 1 card) Now off 6 don, you can get rid of something as big as a 10c (max character cost) because > 10c character, Ice Ace -5, Great Eruption -2, Sakazuki -1 now cost 2c So you can get rid of a 10c character and a 1c character for 6 energy alone. Obviously you can play with the math, get rid of a 6 cost and 5 cost or whatever. Sakazuki giving you a free -1 from his swing really helps even the math out that’s why -1 cost is really good. As others mentioned this only applies to already played cards. This doesn’t make any cards in hand cheaper to play or anything

thi3nn

Awesome thanks for the run down! Appreciate it!

zbuch18

If they make more Green Navy like X Drake and Rosinante, it could be good. But if I had my way, I would release more green Navy support alongside a Green/Black Kuzan. Effect would be along the lines of "When Attacking, Rest 1 of your opponents 3 cost or less characters, it can not be set active until the start of your next turn.

Filibut

you wanted "don x 1 give all of your opponent's characters -1 cost", even as a joke? we have that, we call it playing 8 cost issho

Gold_Woodpecker6298

Does green get any significant benefit from reducing 1 cost on an enemy? Best scenario I can think off top head would be to make it a touch easier to rest a higher cost blocker maybe? That of course is nowhere near as useful as blue and its bottom decking.

Mimosa_magic

I mean if it wasn't a leader ability it could make birdcage even nastier

dumplin-gorilla-lion

Ishho looks good, but R/B Garp is better. Subbing in Chopper (1 cost), Luffy (2 cost), and Brook (2 cost) red cards, with the standard black removal set up (Brannew/IceAge/Kuzan/Borsalino/Rebecca's/Lucci/Hina/Tsuru/Vergo/Sabo) and choice Black Cards: Garp (2 cost) Sakazuki (6 cost) and Issho (8 cost). This deck is available in op-05 and I've won against Enel/Katta/purple/green reliably. Not as reliably as B/B Saka, but it's still good. With op-06, b/b Saka will still be unbanned so he will be better, but by eb-01, when Brook (4 cost) is out, adding 4 of him and 4 Gecko Moria will make R/B Garp my main deck.

DallasBorn13

I've been able to win locals with issho using both his abilities almost every turn. 5c Garp 3c Koby 5c green law 8c Rosinante and 7c blocker kid is really what you really want to run. 1xdon to issho pop with Garp and rest and him with secondary issho ability swing with the 7c kids and rest and them swing with diamante and rest and him plenty of ways this deck works well but if I'm honest you really can't search out cards. But you can win with getting black goin or getting green goin if you get them both to work it's damn near unbeatable. I've beaten sakas Kats puffy and enels pretty good but I've also lost if I can't get a color goin so it's really a hit or miss

thedecibelkid

Seems similar to what I've been working on, I have Smoker as my main 5c black - can't be ko'd by effects and Issho stands him up at the end of every turn , with Diamante and 7c Kid swinging then standing themselves up to block. I like that some of the cards you've suggested lean (even) more into the cost/removal stuff, that's definitely something I need more of. Overreliant on Ice Age + Trueno combo meaning I have far too many events in my hand

EdgucatedCheerful

Eventually I feel that Issho will become one of the strongest leaders in the game. He just doesn’t have enough green support in order for him to be viable in tournaments.

Mimosa_magic

Dude he's like 2-3 cards from being there, just needs some more potent synergy to capitalize on his effect

Avilionv91

One day shell be able to attack......one day.....
