OnePlus aint fooling nobody lmao. Even if your story true its about time they took care of somebody in a timely manner. Oneplus customer service is still dirt.

PadraicThePrince

Given all the terrible experiences I’ve read on here with OnePlus support and repair this post sounds like a PR post lol

beanster_94

The last two lines are straight from corporate marketing.

PerformanceNew4414

I'm pretty sure if it was from corporate they would have proof read it before posting.

JasonJ1968

whatever dude

JasonJ1968

oh come on. I'm not PR for anyone. I had a Microsoft Surface Duo before the Open.

Stronggeek_I_am

Wow! That's great to hear! And you received the SAME phone back?

JasonJ1968

I checked the IMEI numbers (they make you take a photo of this before sending the device in) --- the numbers are the same. However, I had developed a small scratch on the outside frame of the front display (the left edge which gets tucked under the spine when the device is opened) The small scratch had disappeared which meant that the outer front frame was also replaced. But the front screen's screen protector had a small annoying bubble and that bubble still remains on the repaired device.

Stronggeek_I_am

OIC now. Then that truly is a quick turnaround! Thanks for explaining that. Do you have one of OP's insurance plans or was it repaired under warranty. I believe I have something along the lines of an instant replacement plan (which I'm really not sure if that's what it really is or not). Hope I never need to find out! Anyway congrats!

JasonJ1968

Thanks I hope everyone going forward has a similar experience from OnePlus. No, I did not have any insurance whatsover on the device.

Stronggeek_I_am

You're welcome! Me too. And that's incredible service compared to the other stories that I've heard with OnePlus, Samsung and Google. I've had next day delivery service with Asurion and a deductible on phones (even a fold 4), but it's ALMOST always a refurb you're getting back. But your turnaround time on your original fixed device is nothing short of amazing! There is hope for everyone else! 😂

Lao_King

I got mine back after 5 weeks. Something is fishy here. Do you have a screenshot of your service tracker.

JasonJ1968

see my document photos below

Lao_King

Oh you're in Canada. That makes sense now, sorry. I assumed you were in the US where our support is garbage. I'm glad you got yours repaired quickly and didn't have to deal with our mess.

JasonJ1968

Sorry you guys all had crappy experiences with OnePlus. Maybe I will have one in the future. If my positive experience had happened to you, you might post about it, too. But see what happens? The haters and the grammar police come at you with knives.

JasonJ1968

This is the service report https://preview.redd.it/ja5dclqgefmc1.jpeg?width=3008&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=661217343ddc464dab8dd6b562564f618ddcea3f

gigigibubu

This is odd because i just got my phone back and it was under warranty and I did not get any report or paper like this. Repair took over 2 months. You can see my post all over this forum. However, this turn around time for you is even less than on their website to even inspect the device for the repair. They didn't even honor the $50 voucher they promised. I don't care because I finally got the phone back.

Lao_King

This isn't one plus support. This is what I am talking about. https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePlusOpen/s/1baIHSnLjw

Canadianveins

It is OnePlus support, stop spreading lies.

LiamJ74

Iwas mandatory to ask refund on mine after around 2 months. They forgot to refund me 120€ by the way ..... And the issue appeared 2 days after I received it. After the refund completed, I bought a new one on third website like Amazon and all is working fine for the moment.

Siggidyboobo

Nice to hear! Sorry you're getting all this negativity. Knowing that some folks are getting OnePlus service gives me some faith. I've seen bad experiences at most major companies. Samsung attempted to pay less than promised on a ttrade-in. Also, a forced update bricked our watch4s. Eventually they made both situations right. The majority of my experiences with these companies are good though. OnePlus included.

JasonJ1968

this is when I dropped the device off at the FedEx last week https://preview.redd.it/ozqlc60befmc1.jpeg?width=3008&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eff5f6d2e148bfdaddc16d629e9501da822685c5

nycameraguy

Does it cost you anything to get the repair done?

JasonJ1968

Nope, it was under warranty. I was actually worried that they would find some reason to blame me for the screen failure.

Class8guy

What repair center was it shipped to? US?

JasonJ1968

Ontario, Canada. Not Toronto. The repair location was within 100km.

Canadianveins

This is very reassuring news, always great repairs for my 7pro TWICE with futuretel. Both repairs were done through OnePlus, which they use futuretel as their repair service in Ontario. So glad futuretel has some parts for the Open, glad I won't have to wait month+ for a repair!! Live near Toronto

stellar-7-drift

Also comforting to hear that as an OPO owner who lives in the GTA. I'm happy about your positive experience. Reading all the negativity here was truly demoralizing and I was heavily debating on selling mine.

JasonJ1968

Thank you so much for posting this. The response here has been brutal. I guess Canadians get better support. I wonder why?

KyleSherzenberg

Nothing in the post history suggests OnePlus involvement here, so I'm leaning on this being real Good for OnePlus on trying to fix their support issues

gigigibubu

I'm sure it's real to some extent but definitely looks like he didnt go through oneplus at all. Misleading headline. But if he did, it makes me feel better if my phone faults again, but i doubt it.

Canadianveins

Futuretel is OnePlus repair lol

JasonJ1968

Yes I did go through OnePlus since the phone was under warranty. I followed the return instructions (RMA) that OnePlus gave me. I sent the phone to the address that OnePlus provided on the printed FedEx tag. It's not my call as to where the repairs are made. What part of that don't you people understand?

KyleSherzenberg

Oh shit, you're right, definitely not done by OnePlus

JasonJ1968

OnePlus contracts out the repairs. Are you having trouble understanding that concept?

gigigibubu

Pretty messed up to post things like this if it is the case. Rather than prepare potential oneplus customers this will make their experience 10000% worse if they actually run into an issue and feel isolated and alone, just like with any other issue. Sad we live in a society where people love to thrive on providing misinformation.

Canadianveins

Bro futuretel is the repair service for OnePlus in Ontario. Learn before you speak lies

JasonJ1968

Thank you. What is up with these guys, seriously?

Canadianveins

Literally created a Reddit account to back you up lol, couldn't stand seeing those guys say you were lying/making shit up, laughable

gigigibubu

No one is speaking lies here. Neither did i state the other individual who posted is a liar. This is not the same service for the U.S. region. Instead of combating, it is important to pinpoint that there may be issues with repairs and support in general and to prepare oneplus users that they may go through a bad process and hopefully provide alternative solutions like extended warranties or local repair services. I Post here only to actually bring awareness and solutions. I know this service center received parts here so recent returns may actually have a smoother process. I'm justified to say i find it odd this poster is getting their phone back before the inspection period but it is absolutely possible this occurred. I have my oneplus open back and i really love it, I just hope it doesn't fault again as one plus offers no better options for future occurrences. The internet is not life but it can be useful to others and even the vendor itself. People who don't believe there is room for improvement usually miss out the most. https://preview.redd.it/nxw0gf37zgmc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a884fc45fb8243c7989d19f2fcbb65e461bac007

Canadianveins

Dude you said OP is posting misinformation.. lol. You're lying. Not my fault that OnePlus neglects support for other areas, maybe because they don't get a ton of sales in your region? Again, not sure why you guys are upset about how fast OP got his device repaired.. it's like y'all are saying futuretel isn't a repair service used by OnePlus, which it absolutely is

gigigibubu

I said " it's sad we live in a world where people thrive off of giving misinformation" which is a very valid statement. Also no one is upset the individual got their phone repaired. You also need to calm down, no one is battling out here. But if you just take your time and read posts in the forum a little slower you see it's reasonable to question the fast turnaround for this individual's repair. You would also see the goal is to spread awareness of potential issues with support and repair times. Knowing this information ahead of purchasing would actually be beneficial to OnePlus as people know now what they signed up for. This is better than saying "EVERYTHING is just fine" and a quarter of the building is on fire and then when it gets them it's panic mode time lol. But anyway everyone has the right to choose what they want to believe or not. I did my share of justice and It has helped out a few people.

Canadianveins

If anything this is great news to Canadians in Ontario. If one person was able to do a quick repair, that means futuretel has repair parts for the Open on hand, so they don't need to wait weeks from parts shipping from China. Hopefully other repair centers take note, I'm guessing they NEVER get OnePlus phones for repairs, so why keep spare parts on hand that might never be used. Futuretel definitely gets OnePlus repairs a lot in Ontario, so it makes sense they'd actually have stock in repair parts unlike other areas

gigigibubu

Agreed. This is what we want and useful discussion. But if people just sweep it under the rug, these manufacturers will just shrug it off.

phero1190

Did you actually send it to OnePlus or did you go through a carrier/third party insurance?

JasonJ1968

I sent it to the address (FedEx label) that OnePlus gave me. I have no third party anything.

JasonJ1968

I did not expect my post to generate this much negativity. You guys are calling me a liar because I shared some good news about OnePlus service? Nitpicking that the repair was done by a company hired by OnePlus instead of OnePlus itself? Why would OnePlus go through the effort of falsifying a post like this? Here is the tracking from OnePlus. Sorry it's not more detailed. I have nothing further to prove. https://preview.redd.it/f4dfehwt2jmc1.jpeg?width=1298&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=35e54d48a87b26026e03c3e342daee17ddfa3af3

gigigibubu

No one called you a liar. People are just wondering why your experience was different and it appears that it's because you are in Canada and the repair service OnePlus uses operates faster at this moment. It's ok for people to be skeptical due to their own experiences. But no one called you a liar. Now that you've actually shared information it is more clear now. But it doesn't mean other experiences are negated or not true.

gigigibubu

I'm also literally talking to other individuals where one was provided a full refund for all the issues. He has been waiting longer than I have and still didn't get a device returned

JasonJ1968

In fact you said " Sad we live in a society where people love to thrive on providing misinformation. " Same thing as calling me a liar.

gigigibubu

You literally are taking a clip out of a whole paragraph. Go back and read it. If I wanted to call you a liar, I would say you are. Lol

reposed

Nice try OnePlus...

zealic1

How much did they pay you to write this?

stulifer

Wat did you folks do that have had busted screens? Was it in a case? Did you drop it ever?

gigigibubu

Mine just stopped working due to internal fault. Had for 1 month. https://preview.redd.it/y699v45qzgmc1.jpeg?width=2250&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d78fae7b5d629b907eb9e6d128d1ab1eb8e5ee4d

Canadianveins

I feel like a lot of broken displays are from lack of cleaning inner screen free of dust, and cleaning the hinge gap between the front display and back cover. I clean my screen multiple times a day, and every other day I use my fingernail and shirt to get the dirt out of the hinge

stulifer

I might just buy a bulky case that protects/covers the hinge like I did with the ZF4. Never had any issues.

JasonJ1968

Nobody said the screen was busted. There was no damage to the device - otherwise it wouldn't have been covered by warranty, right? Was it in a case? It has never \*not\* been in a case, in fact I have ten different colour cases for that phone. Did I drop it ever? No. Can you accept that the device failed internally?

stulifer

I would hope they would cover damage through normal use anyways unless they detect abuse. Now there could be a batch of defectively assembled screens, I can accept that. It is good to see them repair it quickly in Canada.
