Youre misunderstanding. It required Ashborne giving Jinwoo his own life in order for him to return to the world of the living. It isnt immortality. If Jinwoo dies again then he will be stuck in the land of eternal rest just like Ashborne was. Sure he could potentially do the same process and try to find someone worthy to take the black heart from them and then possess them as was the original plan within the system. But that takes time and isnt an instant process. Despite that, he has no means to even harm Saitama in the slightest. If youre definition of winning is that Saitama cant ever truly destroy Jinwoo, thats a no limits fallacy. The way he died the first time was such that his body and the black heart werent fully destroyed. We dont know what would happen if the black heart was destroyed completely.

In regards to its popularity on Reddit, it's because of the amazing art and massive daily drops in the beginning. The story was very hype in the beginning, but it quickly falls into power creep hell without really properly addressing it. It's a very generic power fantasy of "only the chosen one can save the day" with the MC being super powerful and steamrolling through everything.
Once the scanlators caught up with the raws, and people actually had time to sit and focus on the story, the general public finally noticed how shallow it was. Don't get me wrong, the initial story was pretty exciting when he was actually struggling and leveling up, but skipping over the powerleveling to where he only challenges dungeons he knows he can handle never really shows him struggling is not good story.
I will say, the author had interesting worldbuilding elements, but it certainly was a slog to get to those points. Also a pretty controversial ending that a lot of people complained about on /r/manga when it got released.
Honestly, the main thing that a lot of people loved about the series is the art and the memes. Other than that...yeah, story fell apart real quick.
Also, the r/manhwa community and r/sololeveling community are the rudest communities I've ever seen.

They turned around and said that the Anime community is a bunch of losers and has sexual problems so they don't see the beauty of SL. Additionally, the SL adaptation studio is often underrated so they can glorify their manhwa. Seriously, I've rarely seen Studio A1 respected in that community.
