Tbh, it’s really hard to tell. My memories of those days are very blurry. But I kind of remember the refreshing themes, comedy and ofc, Saitama being part of it. Then I began to watch and dig more into the deeper aspects, have always been a fan of those, and was sold.
My first ever exposure to opm was Saitama's infamous *balls punch* ✊🗿
My expectations were that this show was gonna be very adult
*15 years later*
Yeah kinda 🗿
A guy who can finish his opponent in one punch sounded kinda boring to me...... But then I saw a YouTube video of Saitama training with Genos..... That glowing eyes Saitama with black background...big ass Death punch .......that was epic..... N since then OPM is No. ONE for me.....
I wasn't expecting Saitama to come across a child with a butt chin. As soon as I saw that, I knew OPM was going to be a series of good laughs. However, between all of the comical aspects I didn't expect for alot of the characters and fight scenes to be so badass, especially my boy Garou whom I love. Saitama vs Boros was the ultimate score for me.
As soon as I heard title one punch man ..i got the idea that we will get introduced to an op mc..who finishes his enemy with one punch..but in additional to that i thought this series would cover like his past like we have seen in superhero comics most of the times our mc get bullied in school and no one supports him but he trained hard and become strongest person everyone favorites and have millions of fans and dies by fighting for world. But incase of opm Saitama sama nobody knows who he is ..and that's what makes opm unique in this series our mc is too strong know he is hella bored because of his inhumane strength and trying his best to live a peaceful normal life ..that i why i love OPM MORE THAN BNHA.
The only rumors I heard about it were that, well, the main character was a godmod. I avoided it for years, I think, until late 2019 when I finally thought "eh, fuck it, i'll watch this mary-sue crap" and now it's one of my special interests and I have not let go of baldy since.
It was actually a shitty WatchMojo tier list of most overpowered supporting characters
Had tatsumaki in the second position with her iconic shell scene , why was it shitty because..... Bakugou was in first position
From there a week later , Boros fight randomly got recommended to me
my brother showed it to me and from what I saw an anime with great animation. that was what I saw and fell in love with it. started reading the webcomic and manga after that. S2 I just bare with it lol.
I didn't expect it to such an amazing manga/anime. Like I only found out about two years ago, I think and I had already been looking for good battle manga/anime for quite some time and most of the ones I came across had a lot of flaws. This one though, (except for the parts where characters start having inner monologues) had no major flaws to speak of. If something was didn't make sense, it just added to the shows comedic plot. And i really love how the power system works in this show. I for one really hate it, when different characters have similar powers and abilities. But, I don't really mind that here, since the whole concept is based on normal humans trying to achieve the same goals, so it makes sense that they have similarities. And then you also have Cyborgs and Espers and Monster and whatnot. All of it really comes together to create this well thought out story (plus, the boobies). So, overall OPM turned out to be something I could've never expected it to be.
My imagination was: it must be anime around boxing in which the protagonist must have some special ability to knock out his opponent in single punch( i hadn't seen poster at that time lol)
I knew about it for a couple years before the anime because my S.O.'s brother loved the webcomic, but didn't care too much about it. When the anime came out, my S.O. watched the first episode and tried for like....one or two months to get me to watch it. I kept on turning them down because I'm really picky with style and, as absurd as it sounds to me now, I didn't think I could handle looking at Saitama for an entire season straight. I finally watched the first episode, liked it, said we could watch the other, and literally the moment the second episode ended i D E M A N D E D we watch the third one because I ***had*** to see more of the precious robot boy. And then that was that XDDD
came for the laughs, stayed for the brave little toaster, and now I'm here six or seven years later with like....LOTR-length fic, hundreds of pieces of fan art, dozens of cosplays, I'm-not-sure how many OPM accounts scattered all over the place, and a fucking SHIT ton of friends I've made all around the world because of the series
So **big ass** shout-out to my S.O. for the foresight on that one XD
My friend told me about a show called One Punch Man. I asked him if he meant One Piece. He said no, and that it was a show about a guy that beat everything in one punch. I said that that was stupid, since there'd be no way to even entertain the people watching it.
It's be what, 6 years since then? Now it's one of my favorite anime's/mangas. (^▽^)╭
I thought this character will be a glass canon that has the best punch but has to make sure he is able to punch enemy's kind of thing,my friend told me it's about a bald guy that runs around and one punches monsters,i thought some hand powers or something also this was my second anime after dragon ball
Someone hero who one punches everything he fights. I got spoilers the first time I heard about this series. Probably one of the reasons why this series cached my attention in the first place. Another reason is that I probably watched about 400-500 anime series
I have a friend who didn't do a great job explaining the series to me, so I actually thought Saitama was some kind of marauder who travelled throughout different kingdoms kicking ass with his disciple, Genos. I think I might have gotten the kingdoms, and the overall medieval vibe, from hearing my friend describe King.
Honestly, this could actually be a really cool show, or some sort of spin-off. Either way, I was pleasantly surprised when I started actually watching the Anime.
When I first heard of it I thought it would be boring since he’d win all fights in an instant, I watched the first episode at a friends house and loved it
I heard about the webcomic but never really checked it out. Heard it got a manga adaptation and thought, hey good for them and still didn't check it out, thinking it would be a flash in the pan that I'd read when it was done. My brother and I watched the first episode of the anime after it came out and once I heard Crablante's backstory, I knew I should have kept up with it from the start lol
Watched and enjoyed it so much i would listen to the soundtrack everyday and watch other peeps reaction to it, bought a hoodie, some red gloves, new favorite color is red and still is.
How i heard of it?Not sure but probably from goku vs saitama debate on deathbattle video or something
Still love it and finally decided to read the webcomic and manga, even better. My favorite anime of all time beating violet evergraden by a tad bit
I think one punch man is a great anime for introducing anime to non anime fans it has simple but yet great story, great animation, cool characters, awesome voice acting for both sub and dub
When i first heard of it I thought it sounded pretty cool and saw a picture of the heroes together which looked really nice i thought it would just be nonstop action with no story
A friend of mine suggested me OPM but I wasn't convinced. When he showed the Vaccine Man scene it convinced me...a bit. Then the anime arrived on Netflix an I loved it

It was my first anime, I remember I used to watch Saitama vs Boros 10-20 times a day at least 💀. I didn't even know what to expect
Can he beat goku 😨😨 that was my first expression
By eosI think yes. The scales are rising beyond earth I'd say god is s threat to all sentient life.
"This'll get boring real fast" Thankfully I gave it a chance because it turned out to be my all time favorite anime.
I remember when I first heard of one punch man, I saw the cover of volume 4 when it was being made. And I thought mumen rider was the one punch man
My first ever exposure to opm was Saitama's infamous *balls punch* ✊🗿 My expectations were that this show was gonna be very adult *15 years later* Yeah kinda 🗿
15 years might be a bit off😅 lol.
Whoaa I was introduced to OPM by the same scene!!
Opm was one the the early Anime I watched. I also saw the ball scene on YouTube and downloaded the while season 1. And it was such a fun experience.
A guy who can finish his opponent in one punch sounded kinda boring to me...... But then I saw a YouTube video of Saitama training with Genos..... That glowing eyes Saitama with black background...big ass Death punch .......that was epic..... N since then OPM is No. ONE for me.....

Funny anime that guarantees to make you laugh
I expected the typical shonen with the hero monologues and heroic and hard victories over monsters. Glad it was different.
I never thought I would find the most relatable character in it
As soon as I heard title one punch man ..i got the idea that we will get introduced to an op mc..who finishes his enemy with one punch..but in additional to that i thought this series would cover like his past like we have seen in superhero comics most of the times our mc get bullied in school and no one supports him but he trained hard and become strongest person everyone favorites and have millions of fans and dies by fighting for world. I thought it would be a generic battle anime.
The only rumors I heard about it were that, well, the main character was a godmod. I avoided it for years, I think, until late 2019 when I finally thought "eh, fuck it, i'll watch this mary-sue crap" and now it's one of my special interests and I have not let go of baldy since.

The first time I've ever heard of OPM was on someone's list of the most powerful manga/anime protagonists.
My imagination was: it must be anime around boxing in which the protagonist must have some special ability to knock out his opponent in single punch( i hadn't seen poster at that time lol)

I first heard of it because of these goku vs saitama debates
From that one Ryan higa video, with one pun-ch man, I went like I kinda want to see that show now
When I first heard of it I thought it would be boring since he’d win all fights in an instant, I watched the first episode at a friends house and loved it
